ChicagoGreat area to spend a vacation
Left on 07/25/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We rented windjammer for a week with another family and liked most everything about our stay in regards to location, access to pool, etc. The exceptions would be the furnishings of the unit. The living room couches were filthy, heavily worn down and uncomfortable. The "dining table" was a narrow plank of wood that looks like it was an old desk or hobby table. The dining chairs were old, mis-sized, rickety and borderline unsafe. Dining set outside in screened porch didn't fare much better. Table was wobbly and dirty. I'm not one to complain but for close to $3k for the week, I would expect some modestly nicer furnishings. Probably won't return to windjammer but would seek out another rental in same development.

It's a fantastic home with an outstanding location. The 1st floor master offer respite from the kids upstairs. Screened in porch was very peaceful

The house itself was very nice, very comfortable...I thought renting where we had pool access but not on the property but a close walk would be the ideal situation but...as it turned out, Lakeshore Cottages in not a friendly place...the neighbors (whose home is on the market) were 2 of the most unpleasant people I have ever encountered. They made us all very uncomfortable, I even called Rsvp for help...I also had trouble with the WiFi...Rsvp came by to "repair" it but it was never resolved...Now the truth is that my family and I had a great vacation but I would stay away from this house until the neighbors are long gone.

We had a wonderful time at windjammer. It had everything you could ask for in a vacation home. We have been renting from Rsvp for several years and are always pleased with our exreiences. We'll be back next year too!

Very clean new house. Great location, wished there was fire wood though.

This is our second trip to the Lighthouse Cottage neighborhood, our first to
Windjammer. It is a wonderful house with great amenities. A short drive or
walk to the public beaches, and a neighborhood pool for those days that you
don't want to pack everything up and head to the beach. The great room and
kitchen were beautiful, and the screened in back porch got a lot of use on the
cooler evenings.
The one complaint I would have is the need for better beds. The bed in the
master bedroom on the 1st floor was TERRIBLE! I woke up with back pains
everyday. Please use some of the money to get a new bed for that room! Make
sure you don't park on the grass by the road. The neighbors next door are
particular about this, even though other homes clearly park along the road.
The advantages of Wind Jammer certainly outweigh these two issues. Book
your stay and Enjoy! -

Chicago, ILOverall, a good experience
Left on 08/05/2009 for a stay in July 2009
Good for multiple families. Property sits on a dark, very wooded lot, which
takes away some of the charm and of the cottage. We liked the proximity to the
pool and clubhouse.
Property was relatively plain in decor and could have used some minor
conveniences like a rack or drying line in the shower to hang wet swimwear.
Not enough towel racks or hanging racks overall in all baths.
Customer service and attention from RSVP was satisfactory and helpful. -

ChicagoA Pleasant, Comfortable House
Left on 07/26/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We enjoyed staying at the Windjammer very much. It is nicely furnished and the perfect size for 2 small families. The Lakeshore Cottages is in a good location and has a great common pool. They could have had a few more kitchen items and the construction is such that it is a bit noisy if someone is downstairs watching tv while you are trying to sleep. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would reconsider going back next year.

Chicago, ILVery Nice Home
Left on 04/23/2009 for a stay in April 2009
The house was beautiful and very well kept.
We have only 2 problems, the house was supposed for eight persons but the hot water only lasted for 2 people to take a shower.
The dinning chairs were all kind of loose and some of them seemed dangerous to sit on. -

Great for Families but Needs a Deep Clean!
Left on 08/28/2008 for a stay in July 2008
The cleaners didn't do the best job. I felt like it was still dirty. It needs a good down and dirty cleaning (e.g. take out all of the stuff in the drawers and dust bust and then wipe out). A lot of the towels were still wet but folded in the closet. Ewww! The house needs hooks behind the doors in the bathrooms. It was ok and I still really like Lakeshore Cottages but I liked A Shore Thing better in terms of up keep (then again I was there in 2006 so it could be a little worn by now too).

Perfect for families!
Left on 08/27/2008 for a stay in July 2008
Great vacation! All was as promised and more. We had 7 people (6 adults, 1 child) and we had tons of space - and towels! We loved being close to the pool and the beach. We took advantage of many nearby attractions and restaurants. It was a wonderful week and a no-hassle rental experience.
