      Our stay in beautiful Vail!

Left on 03/15/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We were so excited to visit Vail, having heard so much about it. We knew that the cost of accomodations would be alot, so felt lucky to get something that was $350 a night. One of the hotels I had checked out was nearly twice that. So we were actually pleasantly surprised that it was so roomy and nice when we entered the condo. My low ratings are based on the fact that after a day I wished I had spent more money. After the first day of skiing I was unable to take a shower because the water never got warm enough until about 10:00 pm that night!! We had to skip our dinner reservation and go to the restaurant downstairs..:( The maintenance man from the management company was very nice to come out that night and tried his best, but I understand now that the building is very old and may not be standing that much longer. The fireplace did not work for more than 15 minutes at a time because the wind blows it out due to the location of the condo! The stove had issues that the maintenance man was able to fix. He told me that the lack of hot water was a problem in the building. Believe me, I got in the shower the second I got back from skiing the second day!! The beds were both uncomfortable, and there was a gas leak that was very prominent outside the balcony. That meant that fresh air was pretty impossible if you didn't want to be breathing natural gas! Given all of the inconveniences I would not recommend Evergreen 614. The location is great, very convenient to walk to ski bus and access chair lifts. Vail is incredible!! I think we are going to have to bite the bullet and spend more money next trip!

Well worn but clean, quiet family condo with sagging sofa bed.

Left on 03/31/2010 for a stay in March 2010

Condo was older, well-worn, but not run down, clean, and mostly kept up – e.g., fairly fresh caulking in shower, fixtures, furniture older but adequate, living and bed rooms carpeted. Shower door snug to open because of rubber seal at bottom, but seal worked to keep water in shower stall. However, electrical outlets need updating – plugs don’t stay in easily. Thermostat worked fairly well to control heat.

Good for family, not luxury but adequate, balcony with town and mountain views. Kitchen well equippedSpacious living room, 1 bath has tub, other has shower stall.

The only furnishing I disliked was the full size pullout sofa bed, which had a thin foam mattress on a thin mattress resting on a very springy box springs that sagged in the middle. Fortunately I had brought a Therm-a-Rest self-inflating sleeping pad and slept on it on the floor with sheets/blankets from sofa bed. More comfortable than sagging sofa bed. I’ve slept on comfortable sofa beds -- 3 weeks earlier I stayed at the Zephyr in Winter Park which had a reasonably comfortable full size pullout sofa bed (better box springs and mattress).

Service (e.g. for extra blankets) required calling offsite management office not front desk (since unit not under hotel management); response was pretty quick (called before leaving for dinner, blankets/quilts in room when we returned).

Ski locker room (no individual lockers) off the lobby was crowded, almost all slots for skis were taken; I’m not sure if there were slots or brackets for snowboards. The ski locker should be enlarged to accommodate more skis and there seemed to be little space for snowboards. Building is strict about not having skis/snowboards in rooms; when I retrieved our skis from ski locker to take to room to pack to leave next morning, desk clerk joined me in elevator to my floor, nicely asked if I was leaving next day (I heard they fine you for taking skis to room – he left with no comment, but friendly manner).

Spacious Unit, Extremely outdated and needs serious updates

Left on 02/12/2010 for a stay in February 2010

I do not recommend this unit for anyone looking to have a "Nice" place to stay in Vail for your ski vacation. It doesnt look like the fixtures or anything in the Unit has been updated in the past 2 decades! The fireplace did not work either. If you are looking to save money and the finer things in an accomodation does not matter to you, then this place is fine as there is nothing really wrong with it, its just not very nice.

      Spring Skiing!

Left on 04/15/2009 for a stay in April 2009

We had a great stay in the Evergreen Lodge.

Was expecting it to be a bit older and well-worn but it was updated nicely. Furnishings in the unit were more than adequate, nice balcony, clean etc..

The ski locker in the lobby is convenient as is the bar/restaurant and pool. Ski shuttle is a piece of cake to use for travel to either Vail Village or Lionshead.

We would recommend it for sure.

      bad experience

Left on 11/12/2008 for a stay in December 2007

Very expensive condo for poor service

the sofa bed was so bad that our chilfren had to sleep on teh
floor, the air matress provided 3 days later had an air linkage....

the curtains in the living room were out of duty and unable to
close correctly, unfortunatly in this room was the "sofa bed"

Certainly not a property to recommend, and the high price
      certainly not excuse such accomodations

We decided for the next ski vacation to go to Jakson hole,do the
      same!!

      Medical

Left on 10/31/2008 for a stay in September 2008

First, I want to thank you for the perfect condo close to the hospital. I am very grateful for that. I did not want the owner of this condo that I rented nor Vail Management to be effected by what Evergreen did to me. I just read my review.
Please understand that the condo was perfect for my medical needs. The condo was comfortable, clean, and close to the Hospital, which was my first request. The pool for my P.T. was the second request,(even though the temperature of the pool was off). All I could do was watch T.V. and it was not working the last week. The news was extremely important at that time period and so was the political news. I am sorry for any inconvenience this brought to you or the owner of this condo. Thank you for the 6 day refund out of my 2 month stay.

      Very truly yours,
      Joanne

      Medical Reasons

Left on 10/12/2008 for a stay in August 2008

This property met my needs except that Evergreen Lodge is resposible for:

      1. Turning off the water for 2 days.
      2. Water in shower is cold but then very hot and one can't jump out soon enough without burning yourself.
      3. Advertise heated pool but stayed two months and pool was ice cold for 3 and 1/2 weeks and then too hot for 2 weeks.
      4. No TV for last week there.
      5. This was all Evergreen's fault.

      Thank you, Joanne.

We apologize for the inconveniences, and we have refunded 6 days rent. Please note that most of these issues were a result of the building owners doing off-season maintenance, and would be unlikely to occur during the ski season.
