Location is fine but property is bit tired and room really needs a refresh. No drawers in one of the bedrooms for clothes, fixtures that don't work and while its nice to have 100s of videos and a subzero, no oven, wifi is a joke and when I look at value relative to numerous other ski places we've stayed at its kind of disappointing

Oak Ridge, NCGreat until we got home
Left on 01/30/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The condo was very nice, the staff were helpful, the location was great. I would have given this condo 5 stars if it weren't for what happened next.
The day after we arrived home, we received a very short and blunt email from the management company that a dresser-top glass piece had been found cracked, that it was our responsibility, and that we would be billed on our credit card as soon as they received an invoice to fix it.
The only problem is that we did not break the glass, never saw the glass broken, and have no idea how it was broken. After a phone call and a couple of emails, the manager stuck to his position that we were responsible.
We even offered to pay a small amount to effectively split the cost, even though we are reasonably sure we did not damage it. We have heard nothing back from management since we made that offer, so I can only assume that they will try to bill me for the damage regardless of what we say.
The sad irony in this situation is that we just spent thousands of dollars to stay at this condo, but we have been treated like we are common criminals.Response from Vail Management Company - 01/30/2013
Manager
Unfortunately, sometimes things get damaged when a condo is rented. All guests sign a registration card and/or damage waiver (the Pratt’s signed both) that they will be responsible for any damages that occur to the condo during their stay. Prior to all arrivals, the condos are inspected by our housekeeping supervisor and when this one was inspected, there was no broken glass. Upon departure of the Pratt family, the glass on top of the dresser was found broken and an email was sent to the guest along with a picture of the damage. The glass company was immediately called and came the next day for measurements. We have not yet received an invoice for the broken glass, but as soon as we do, the Pratt’s will be notified of the cost to replace it. Sadly, as part of the job as a management company, the owners require us to have the guests be responsible for damages that are incurred during their stay. It is not our intention to make a guest feel like a common criminal.

Everything was top notch. Our only complaint is that we could not get the DVD player to work. This is our third time staying in this particular unit so, obviously, we love everything about it.

6 of us stayed here in april 2011 and loved it. We have been to Vail 3 times before and we will certainly go back to this location! It was close to the slopes, shopping, and bars. We have stayed in Vail Village in the past and like the night life better there than Lions Head but nonetheless, the location was good and the service @ Westwind was perfect. The pool and hot tubs were so nice to use after a day on the board and the condo we had was perfect. Highly recommend it!

We have stayed at West Winds on several occassions and love it there. Always clean and the staff is easy to work with. If we hit the lottery, we'll be buying a unit.

Unable to get instructions how to access building and our condo unit, because there was no one to answer the phone when desk was supposed to be open, no one to respond to the message we left, we were unable to get in when we arrive after midnight, nor was any help provided by the answering service. We ended up getting rooms at the Marriott by that time it was after 2 am. Also no note was left explaining that the high setting on the knobs to the cooking surface was a incorrect, (knobs had been replaced with faulty ones, so high was actually low, so we couldn't even make tea, once we did move in.
On the bright side, this condo is very comfortable, and well located. Would recommend unit, with the caution that for this front desk some essential matters can fall through the cracks. -

Murrells Inlet, SCDreams do come true!
Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in December 2009
We had an incredible time. We are a family of 5, with a son who is in his last year at Clemson University, a son who is a sophmore at Clemson, and a daughter who is a junior at St. James High School, Murrells Inlet,SC 29576. Realizing this would probably be the last time we would have this much time together, we set out on a journey. Truly we could not have expereinced so much joy, laughter, and genuine quality time if we had scripted it. Dawn Moe, at Westwinds, is a valuable asset to your company. She is sharp as a tack, and so cordial. Vail Coach was worth every penny.
The trip home was a nightmare, as US Air cancelled the flight on New Year's Day. It took some of a day longer to get home, but you really don't have much to do with that.
Upon srriving home, we all agreed that absolutely nothing could spoil the time we spent with you.Our experience was lifted straight from the canvas of Norman Rockwell. And will forever be held tightly in our hearts. -

Had a great time at Vail Lionshead. Nice unit (comfortable, clean, and well decorated) and very conveniently located to gondola. End of season price was very good. Would not have stayed there at normal rental price, so was very glad to see the Vail All the Love price.

Very clean and spacious. Sleeps quite a few. Can walk to Lionshead in a jiff to shred some pow. Killer hot tubs. Has some nice persian rugs inside, so keep your gear in the lockers downstairs or the management will come knockin'. Still trying to figure out if its two chicks or a chick and a dude in the picture above the toilet in the master bedroom. Some mysteries are better left unsolved I suppose.......

Minneapolis, MNExcellent location and large condo
Left on 12/09/2008 for a stay in November 2008
We just stayed in this Westwind condo as part of our annual Thanksgiving ski trip to Colorado. The unit was larger than most, a pleasant surprise, had a great large dining table and living room. The three bathrooms were a real plus. The kids loved the large heated pool, and my wife and I liked the two adjacent hot tubs (not too much chlorine and well maintained, Trex decking). The location is excellent, just steps away from the new outdoor ice rink and the gondola and Lionshead base area. The underground heated parking was great with an elevator to your condo floor. The staff was excellent. We will be back.

We searched the internet for a condo in Lion's Head Village because we wanted the convenience of the gondola for our children. They had never skiied out west so we wanted to have as positive an experience as possible. Westwind was in the right location at the right price and has a pool and 2 hot tubs (which we and most other renters visited each day after skiing). Our condo was very nice, had a fabulous view of the mountains - beautiful during the day and all lit up at night, and very nice and helpful staff. It was ridiculously easy to walk out the back door and walk for approximately 2 minutes to the gondola. Lion's Head is so great for kids - ice skating, hot chocolate everywhere, Adventure Ridge at the top of the mountain...fun, fun, fun - the weather was amazing so we could eat outside every day at the base of the mountain. It was a true luxury vacation filled with action and adventure at every turn. We had NO problems at all with anything at our condo - kitchen was well stocked, the condo was very clean and tidy, and there was even a fireplace. We will definately be back...and may upgrade to the 3 bedroom!
