Baton Rouge, LAVery convenient to the slopes and Vail Village but they are not
Left on 04/01/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This is a very nice property, but I had to shorten my trip/stay by 2 nights because of business obligations. Since it was within the 45 day window, they would not refund me the difference. I have had to file a claim with CSa Travel Protection to get a refund for the 2 nights that I did not stay at the property. Even though I arrived on the date of the confirmed reservation, to leave early -- even with the advance notification -- was considered a cancellation. I included the cost of travel insurance in my advance deposit to the Christiania Lodge but they did not provide me with a copy of the policy or the policy number. They agree that I included the payment for insurance in my advance payments but they cannot produce a receipt. Unless I get a refund, I may stay at another property in Vail.

I love staying at the Christiania. It is like being at home with everything done for you. It is the best ski in and out location in all of Vail. It is also very convenient to the Golden Peak school where I take my boys every morning. I feel so fortunate to stay there every year. I am already booked for 2014.

We are frequent guests at your boutique hotel and always love the experieince. Your staff is so accomodating and friendly.
I have a request. We have a special day in January--the 19th, to be exact. Do you have a special room that is avialbe for that night and how much would it be.
Thanks,

Denver, COvery nice, comfortable hotel
Left on 12/06/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We had a great stay at the Christiania Lodge! The hotel itself is in a perfect location and very comfortable. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Though the hotel is expensive during peak ski season, it is consistent with similar properties in Vail. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend!

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We arrived early before normal check-in but that was not a problem as our room was ready. We had requested a mountain view room, however, the view was blocked by trees. We mentioned the problem to the front desk and without hesitation we were moved to the second floor where the view was 100% better. The service and morning breakfast was excellent. The location was just a very short walk to the Village where there was excellent shopping and restaurants. Will definitely consider staying at Christiania Lodge again in the future.

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The room was available before time of check in, this was great.
The location was wonderful. Near all of the village.
The staff was helpful, but not very knowledgeable.
The room with the bed was small and the bathroom was small.
The bed was slanted like you were sliding out on your head. -

New Orleans, LABeautiful, cozy, great location!

I stayed two nights for a conference in Vail, and I would absolutely book a stay at the Christiana for vacation. The building has lots of charm -- love the fireplace, porch and exposed wood beams. The rooms are large and clean. The furniture is exactly what you would want in a cozy ski lodge -- looks hand-carved. Also, the location can't be beat! A lovely place to stay and unwind.

Denver, COFall Getaway at Vail
Left on 09/26/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We spent four nights at the Christiana, getting
two group discount vouchers for two nights and
then combining them. We had a large king room
with a balcony facing the mountains. The bathroom was large and divided: one sink was
in the outer room and another in the main bath.
That was really a plus for us. The staff was
very nice and accomodating. They advertise
an "European" continental breakfast and we thought that meant hard-boiled eggs, sliced
cheeses, and lunch meats as we had in Europe.
But that wasn't the case. It was very basic & nothing special. We enjoyed being able to walk
to practically everything and going on the
path right behind the hotel for biking and walking around. A great trip at a very nice
place! -

The unit was clean but not enough sun light to make the unit more comfortable. Not enough air ventilation. Room was to hot.

Boulder, COReasonable price given the location.
Left on 08/31/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We have stayed at the Christiania several times. We stay at the Christiania because the rates are very reasonable for the location, which is excellent. On most stays, we have found that the front desk staff and the staff that works the continental breakfast are a bit abrupt. On this most recent stay, we did note that our room (304)was noticeably hotter than the adjacent room that my mother-in-law stayed in. It was a bit uncomfortable even at night.

Room on 3 was a little warm. Having visited friends staying there last year we asked for a room on the bottom floor which is much cooler.

Pool was dirty with a broken skimmer. No air conditioning (perhaps that is normal for other places...this was our first time in Vail so I don't know what to compare it to). Breakfast was sufficient. Bed comfortable. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Check-in/check out was seemless and expidient. We received a free upgrade from a garden level queen to a mountain view king, an unexpected surprise that was very much appreciated! Can't beat the location for pedestrian access to all that Vail Village has to offer.

Surprising to say the least. We always thought this was an upscale lodge. Our room was so hot, we found a little fan in a closet. The screen was all ripped out of the door to the deck. The "free breakfast" was the worst we have come across. Cold cereal, bagels and a toaster and no coffee ready. We had to go to Starbucks for coffee and a pastry.
Response from Christiania at Vail - 06/16/2011
Manager
Rita,
Our apologies! We really appreciated your husband’s feedback at check-out and realized we were not up to par during this ‘shoulder season’, which is why we comp’d your stay. Since your departure we have fixed the screen in your room and have done a thorough check to repair any others, and we are restructuring our ‘shoulder season’ breakfast items. Again, we appreciate your feedback…you have made our hotel better. We hope that your next experience here exceeds your accommodation expectations.
Most appreciative,
The Christiania Staff
