Great location, lovely house!
Left on 04/10/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We really Had a great stay. The house was very nice. The location was perfect, close to the bus stop and a quick drive into town. I loved the fact that there were spices, oil and other cooking basics so we would not have to purchase all that stuff for the week! The hot tub was fabulous! My only complaints would be the all the mattresses were a bit too firm/hard and that the 3rd room would be much more useful with a queen. The futon was really suboptimal unless you have 2 kids staying in that room. But Pati had excellent instructions for us, including local maps and info. We plan to come back again next year!

Thanks for your kind comments Ashley! I'm constantly making improvements to the house so that my guests have the best possible experience during their stay in Vail. You'll be happy to know that our Spring upgrades have included new mattresses and bedding in every room, new window treatments as well as kitchen and bath renovations. I look forward to seeing you again next year.

Middletown, CTPerfect Home for a Serious Ski Vacation
Left on 03/11/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Five of us just returned from a week skiing Vail's Back Bowls under sunny blue skies. The Vail Ski House had everything we needed in a winter vacation home and came exactly as advertised.
Owner Pati Marsh was great to work with. She was very responsive, and once we committed to the property, Pati sent us a great email package with tips on restaurants, shopping and mountain logistics.
Using the free Vail bus service is the best way to get to the slopes! The house is an easy 90 second walk to a major bus stop. During peak hours, the buses come 4x per hour, and the resort is only 7 minutes away. In our party, the 50-somethings would typically get up early and make first chair, while the 20s would sleep a little later and meet us for lunch on the mountain.
The house was great. Comfortable and reasonably private. Very clean, nice layout. Good mattresses, nice linens and blankets. Plenty of towels and extra linens. Great mudroom with hooks and cubbyholes for all our gear. Nice Hdtv, reliable internet service, and the ice maker kept our cocktails and camelbacks full. The outdoor hot tub was clean and comfortably fit 4 adults.
Our rented GMC Yukon fit in the one-car garage with room to spare. If we had a bigger car or a ski rack, we may have had to park it in the driveway. But but with the bus service, you don't need the rack.
The home has 3 private sleeping areas. If you need more than three private sleep areas, you should consider a larger place.
This was our third trip to Vail in the last 10 years, and this time we got it right! This property has everything you need for a perfect week at one of the greatest resorts in the world. I expect we'll be back! -

Raleigh, NCBeautiful, Comfortable, and Will Return!!!

There were four of us total, and there was more than enough space. This house is in a great location where you will be close enough to the slopes and shops of Vail yet far enough away to enjoy some privacy. Everyday we came back and hung out in the hot tub and cooked a meal as we soaked our muscles and went back out to enjoy Vail. Rent a car if you want, but you truly do not need one. Free public transportation is one time and nearby. The house has everything you need for an extended stay. Awesome place!!!

Beautiful 3 bedroom 2 plus bath set in the scenic Vail mountains. Just a few minutes from the slopes and a bus route a minute away so you don't even need a car. We used the hot tub every night. My kids love this place and we go every year. Book early, it books up fast. No surprise. Just wonderful.

Venice, CaliforniaPerfect House in Vail: Spacious and Cozy
Left on 04/27/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Our stay was fantastic!! The house is so beautiful, with big windows and gorgeous views, a fireplace, jacuzzi, cable, a great kitchen, comfy beds, and very spacious. We loved that it was a bit removed from the town, yet very close and steps away from the bus stop. We took nice walks around the neighborhood, and used the sled that was provided by the house. The kitchen was huge and stocked with everything you would need, and it was nice to have a washer dryer. Two nice size tables for having family meals. It was very easy with my 4 year old daughter. She felt right at home. I can't think of a more beautiful place to stay if you are vacationing in Vail!!

The house is perfectly set up to enjoy a weekend with several friends or family members. There's privacy when you need it and lots of space to hang out together downstairs and outside. I was especially impressed with the furniture- one of the most comfortable couches I have ever sat on, ever, and the dining table and chairs are perfect for casual vacation meals.
