Phoenix, AZCozy place for a winter vacation
Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in December 2012
This is a good place to stay if skiing in Vail. We were 2 families (4 adults, 3 kids in all) and the house was a good size for our 6 night stay.
The good:
- the interior is well designed, comfortable and nicely decorated
- kitchen is nice, all possible utensils, etc
- clean, seemingly newly renovated place; well maintained in any case
- there is a bus that runs every 30 mins to/from the slopes and Vail Village, which is very convenient, but you'll have to carry your ski equipment on the bus or rent a locker near the slopes if you prefer not to. The bus stop is about 100' away from the house and takes about 10 minutes to reach Lionhead.
- there's a mall across the freeway (5 minutes drive) with a Safeway, Starbucks and others
The bad:
- while advertised as having 2 queen beds, they are actually full-size (full size is 54" wide vs 60" for a queen size). The mattresses are also old and saggy, which was disappointing when compared to the quality of everything else. I had to flip the mattress myself, which helped a bit, but also shows no one ever did it before.
- we didn't use the loft for sleeping, but I doubt it would be very comfortable
- expensive, but nothing is cheap in Vail anyway... -

Left on 01/20/2013 for a stay in December 2012
Creekside, beautiful quiet area, lovely fireplace with plenty of wood, and very cozy while being able to sleep a lot of people. Very nice place with the free shuttle just steps away. The only thing that made it just short of perfect was one of the queen beds seemed a bit old, as it sagged and was less than comfortable. But there's no shortage of other beds to chose from. I would definitely recommend.
