We enjoyed the comfort of clean and tidy accommodation, tastefull breakfast every morning, friendliness of the owner and lots of things to see and do in the near by. The atmosfere was very relaxing and it nearly felt like at home here.

Great place 2 minutes from Portmagee and great base to see the Skellig Islands and the Puffins. Frances was the perfect host and the Irish breakfast kept us going for the whole day.

My partner and I stayed here for 4nights last week. We had a fabulous time, Frances the owner was so helpful to us letting us know were to go and what was happening on the island and in the local area. The breakfast was fab, especially the poached eggs ;-) He partner Ciaran was also very helpfull with giving us directions to local towns. It is a lovely bed and breakfast, very clean, warm with a nice family feel. There is also beauitful views from here. Portmagee is the local village and has brill Irish nights with lovely resturants. Thank you Frances for a lovely time in youe bed and breakfast.

      wondeful stay - thank you

We were on a biking trip of the South West of Ireland and our stay at Carraig Liath House was really excellent.
The welcome we received with tea and homemade cake was a real treat.
Our room was en-suite, spacious and very comfortable.
The breakfast was a gorgeous full irish breakfast.
We were made extremely welcome and treated as part of the family.
Nothing was too difficult for our hostess who helped us by accessing her networks and making numerous calls to organise a number of onwards stays over a very busy bank holiday weekend .
There were great views from the house and it was very accessible for dinner in Portmagee and exploration of Valencia Island and the beautiful less tourist occupied tip of the Ring of Kerry.
I would highly recommend this accomodation.
Thank you for a great stay

Ideal location for Skellig trip and a fabulous house

Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in September 2010

It was pure luck that I booked the best B&B; on Valentia island. Carraig Liath is run by a fabulous lady called Frances who couldn't have been nicer to myself and 3 girlfriends. Her hospitality was wonderful and the breakfast was gorgeous. It's a great location just a few minutes walk to the Skellig experience and on to the ferry for the Skellig trip. I've already booked in another trip this year to go back and bring some american friends. Hoping to spend more time on Valentia island which is also very beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay at this house.

Carraig Liath House is a wonderful place for leisure! Rooms are cosy and nicely decorated and breakfast is always delicious! The view from the house is amazing! There is a patio outside the house whre you can sit, relax and enjoy the view of Portmagee village. Frances who runs the Carraig Liath House is a helpful and friendly person.I regret that i can't go there this year but i'll definitely go someday!!!
