Description from the owner
The apartment is on the upper floor of a typical high-ceilinged house in the heart of Cerro Alegre. The building dates from around 1900 and has been entirely redesigned and refurbished.
At a spacious 60 square metres (650 square feet) it is fully equipped with a stylish alerce and granite kitchen, local artwork, wifi access, cable TV and, to top it off, a raised bathtub with views over Valparaíso bay.

The apartment was perfect for our needs. The wireless connection was a bit spotty but, overall it served us well. Breakfast provided at the door each morning was a bonus (and delicious).
Location was great with nice views... easy to take a walk almost anywhere or catch the funicular downtown.
There was always someone downstairs to answer questions or provide directions... everyone was very friendly & extremely helpful. -

My daughter and I spent 8 nights in this apartment. The staff was exceptional very helpful with all the practical info when you are traveling. Janak Jani took us for a lovely day of wine tasting and coastal hikes. Janak is a travel writer from the UK and now lives with his wife in Chile. His knowledge of Chilean current events, history and culture added so much to our trip. The apartment includes a fully stocked with kitchen items that we were able to prepare a dinner for 12 and make smoothies with the blender. The breakfast served at our door promptly at 8:30 each morning was delicious including brown bread, Chilean tipico bread, cheese, butter and jam. The apartment is up two flights of stairs and the queen/king bed is up stairs, too. The location made it very easy to walk to great restaurants. And, a great view of Valparaiso from the bathtub.

We loved it - ideal location, great views and excellent value. We're a little past our backpacking days and this was the type of place we are always hoping to find - like house sitting at a friend's place. It's a private apartment on the top floor of a small hotel/hostel. You could easily cook all your own meals here, though the nearby restaurants are excellent - by any standards. The UK owner Janak is really friendly, has lived there for years and, (as a Chile guidebook author), had some brilliant travel tips. If we ever get to return to Chile we'll definitely stay here.

LondonA great find in the best part of town

We struck lucky with this wonderful 1 bedroom apartment. It is made up of a spacious airy living/dining room that has obviously been recently revamped with a great kitchen attached (6 burner stove and oven, cast iron pans, and the free supply of tea, grain coffee and spices were a definite plus). The bedroom is on two levels with a double bed and television in a kind of loft and a double fold out futon below. The apartment as a whole was spotlessly clean and had reliable fast wifi as well.
On arrival we were presented with a good map and detailed explanation of what to do and where (and where not) to go in the city as well as nearby day trips. The apartment is on a quiet cobble-stoned street right in the middle of Cerro alegre, where many of the city's attractions are as well as lots of good restaurants.
I stayed here with my partner although it would also be suitable for 2 or 3 friends or a small family. If I were ever to go to Valparaíso again I would definitly stay here and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful, homely and very comfortable base to explore Valparaíso.
