Victoria BCExcellent Kitsilano suite
Left on 11/09/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Our first trip to Kitsilano was a business and pleasure. Marks suite made it an excellent trip. Very homey feel to the place with an incredibly well stocked kitchen. Within walking distance of everything you would need or want, including Granville island. Great area, and a great place to stay. Definitely recommend, and will stay again if we choose to make another trip back to Kits.

Warwick, UKAn amazing place to stay!
Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed at the Kitsilano Suites for 8 nights in July and loved it! There are 4 suites within a beautiful old house, set just off the main streets of Kitsilano. The location was great for the beach/outdoor pool (10 minute walk) or to go into Downtown Vancouver (less than 15 minutes on several different bus routes). The suite we stayed in was immaculately clean, really comfortable, well furnished and had a balcony overlooking a nice garden. We found the city to be fairly expensive so often cooked for ourselves and thought the kitchen in our suite was brilliant - it had tonnes of equipment and utensils and was well stocked with simple stuff like herbs and seasonings and a welcome basket with milk, butter and bread etc. which all made a real difference. Mark and his team were accommodating, quick to respond and helpful when asked for advice. For a similar price to a hotel, I think this was much more personal, comfortable and relaxing and I'd absolutely recommend staying here.

San FranciscoKitsilano Suites is a home away from home.
Left on 07/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We recently rented all four units for our family vacation to Vancouver. Each suite is beautifully maintained with the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a vacation rental (even better stocked than my own home kitchen!). But one need never actually cook in the kitchen because the Suites are located within easy walking distance of all varieties of restaurants and grocery stores. And yet, despite the convenient close proximity to stores, restaurants, the beach, and transit stops, Kitsilano Suites is a tranquil refuge perched on a quiet, residential tree-lined street.
Mark was most helpful in making us feel welcome and settled in. All in all, a most pleasurable vacation rental experience.Response from Mark Diesvelt - 07/25/2012

Bright's Grove, Ont, CanadaExceptional accommodation in the very heart of Kitsilano
Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
'first time visitor to Vancouver, found Kitsilano Suites on the Web- when travelling, we generally seek out private rentals, rather than hotels... 'suite availability conflicted with original flight dates, so changed flight dates to line up with suite reservations (9 days)...
Simply put, the Suites offer exceptional accommodation in the heart of Kitsilano- very spacious, comfortable beds, outstanding kitchen, extra linens, flat panel Tv's, patio deck, "Welcome baskets", basic supplies already in fridge, very quiet neighbourhood (are we really in a big city?), steps away from great shopping on Broadway & 4th aves, Kits Beach & Pool just down the hill, etc, etc. We learned that the owner (Mark D) is in the business of providing professional advice to large Hotel Chains, so his attention to details & comfort is second to none.
Note- shower is in the claw foot tub, so there is a little "step-over". We were on the top floor, so there were some stairs, as would be expected.
Vancouver has great bus service (2 mins away), so you can forget the rental car, if just visiting the City. 'Very easy to get downtown, UBC, Granville Island, Stanley Park, Grouse Mountain (btw-the "Grind" is a great workout), Capilano Bridge, etc. Note- if you do need a rental car, we got great service from Enterprise ('located just outside the airport- take their Shuttle, about 6 mins)- good cars, cheap rates('book over the Internet for best price), & Shuttle Driver called ahead- our car was ready & waiting at the front door ! We parked right on the street, adjacent to the Suites, no problem at all.
Oh yes, left Vancouver with clean clothes, as there is laundry facilities right at the Suites (soap, etc incl) ...
In hindsight, changing our flights was probably the smartest thing done on this trip, as the accommodations made for an outstanding vacation.
In summary- exceptional accommodation for the discerning traveller.

Suite 201 is absolutely the best apartment we stayed in...ever! It has got everything and more! It is a real gem. We stayed there in 2010, but when we think back of our holiday in Vancouver, the stay in Marks apartment is the first thing we think about. This lovely build home in a green street, with amenities close and transport as well, really is, unforgettable. There is no doubt in our mind this is the place we will return to should we ever visit Vancouver again!
Thanks Mark! -

Left on 01/09/2012 for a stay in May 2011
We are regular Vancouver visitors; it's more or less our second home. We had stayed in different parts of the city before, in rented houses and suites, but since we've discovered Kitsilano Suites, we don't want to go elsewhere. Everything's perfect: the neighbourhood (close to both 4th and Broadway, where you find tons of fine shops and restaurants, close to city center, a few blocks from the beach, etc. As to the suite itself, it's simply gorgeous: spacious, decorated with taste, fully (and I mean fully) equipped, especially the kitchen, which has more utensils and pans than we've got at home, nice balcony where you can bask in the afternoon sun. On top of that, we had our private angel, Mark, who took care of everything, from burnt out light bulbs to garden chairs, with the same efficiency - and the same smile.

Left on 11/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We have just returned from our second visit to Kitsilano Suites and we would not consider staying anywhere else in Vancouver. The house has been beautifully restored and the apartments are tastefully furnished and decorated, spotlessly clean, and with every possible gadget, appliance and amenity that you could wish for. The kitchen is so well equipped and organised it's a delight to potter about in - not wanting to do too much cooking while on holiday ! - but could entertain to ones hearts content if so inclined.
Mark was there to meet us on arrival and it was like seeing an old friend - he made us so welcome and very re-assuring to know he was at hand if we needed anything - not that we did - everything was perfect.
The location has to be one of the best in Vancouver - shops and cafes just 2 blocks away - the beach 8 blocks away - a quiet tree lined street - transport close at hand - not really neccesary to have a car. We loved walking to Granville Island where there is an amazing food market, boutique shops, and lots of places to eat and drink. We had a fabulous time and look forward to the next visit already.

Mark has done an outstanding job restoring this beautiful Kitsilano character home. We stayed in 202 and 101 - each suite is thoughfully designed and decorated, with all the amenities needed for a self catered Vancouver experiece. Convenient, quiet location with good street parking and walking distance to everything.
Next visit we'll stay a week and take advantage of the reasonable weely rates. -

A very comfortable, conventionally stylish, well run establishment. The gourmet kitchen was a delight. Access to a well maintained garden an added pleasure. Being in a quiet location, close to shops, public transport and with on street parking available, makes this worthy of the highest recommendation.

Left on 10/09/2011 for a stay in April 2011
My husband and I have stayed at Kitsilano Suites for several weeks each visit during the last two years - in Suite 101 and 201. Not only are both suites spacious, beautifully decorated, with great appliances and beds, but reservations, check-in and check-outs have been seamless. The suites are spotless and quiet, the welcome platter and bathroom amenities are great and really useful on arrival. Furniture, décor and the art works are top quality and in keeping with the arts and crafts ambience - nothing 'heritage tacky' here! Everything worked: from heaters and appliances to wifi, cable, etc. It's a pleasure to stay in such a beautiful arts and crafts house, on one of Kitsilano's most beautiful streets. Mark has thought of everything to make his guests feel welcome and comfortable; he's always available to answer questions or accommodate late/early arrivals or unforeseen dramas like what happened to us earlier this year when we needed to stay in Vancouver an extra 10 days. Location is perfect: easy to get anywhere either by public transport or car (lots of free parking on the street or around the corners). Restaurants, great shops, supermarkets all within a few minutes walk on 4th ave or Broadway. Beautiful Kits beach and Canada's best outdoor pool six blocks down the hill! Can't say enough great things about the location, the house, the suites, and of course Mark! We have long given up on hotels, and would not stay at any other holiday rental apartment in Vancouver.

This being our second Vacation Rental we were pleasantly surprised by the level of professionalism we encountered.
Mark, Thank you! From the moment we drove up and saw you on the veranda with the keys we were impressed. Being able to walk in and have had our shopping done was top notch, (food and liquor)!! A quick tour of the suite impressed us immensely. Stained glass windows, woodwork, carpets, furniture all in period appropriate theme including all bathroom fixtures. (Clawfoot tub outfitted with a functional cloud feel shower curtain). In fact the whole experience was like living on a cloud. The bed, (wow), with it's high quality mattress and white linens was especially luxurious.
The Kitchen: Again wow. State of the art. Never out of ice, (a very good thing). Gas stove, utensils, every plate and glass that could be required was there. Even our professional chef that came over to do us up a crab dinner was impressed. We spent a great deal of time using the balcony to soak up the Kitsilano Vibe and enjoying the lovely gardens, even though Mark was tying tomatoes to the vines as a joke to his girlfriend. We had to laugh along.
Close to everything Kits, made a car un-necessary. Walking to the various shops and restaurants was easy and convenient. Bus and taxi service was excellent.
Marks area knowledge helped immensely as well.
Everything in the suite worked and worked well. Even the front door didn't slam... ever!!
Any return visits to Vancouver and we will be back!! Never another hotel!
Thanks again Mark, job well done!

Left on 10/07/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We fully enjoyed our stay in Suite 201 and Mark saw to it that there was nothing that we did not have. We came in late at night mid week and Mark saw that we had some initial supplies - especially coffee for the morning. We loved the arts and Craft architecture of this heritage place with its stained glass and stained fir woodwork and trim. The kitchen-dining area which opens to a quiet deck overlooking the backyard was perfect for chilling and sipping wine after a day of touring. The kitchen had absolutely everything including herbs and spices, most staples that you might not normally wish to go out and buy during a short stay. This excellent apartment is located in the heart of Kitsilano close to shops and restaurants and short bus rides to downtown, Stanley Park, Gastown, even Grouse, Lynn Canyon, and Capilano. Its also a short watch to the beach, Granville Island and Kits pool and no surprise - Mark even supplies beach towels and umbrellas depending on the weather.

From the moment we were met by the owner we felt so welcomed. The apartment was even better than we expected from the website, really well furnished with a kitchen to dream for. Lots of thoughtful touches such as the welcome basket, milk & butter in the fridge, fresh fruit in a bowl. There were even tissues & toiletries supplied. The area is one we know well as our son lives nearby, it is a lovely place to stay and the blossom at this time of year was spectacular. You have the shops on 4th two blocks away, and Broadway three blocks away so evrything you need is nearby. I honestly cant find anything to fault with our experience at 2465 West 6th Avenue.

Left on 03/21/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We rented an apartment at Kitsilano Suites during the Winter Olympics which
was truly spacious and deluxe. While feeling "lived in" -- complete with
library, writing desk, two TV's and a fully equipped kitchen (with a decent
cookbook library!), the apartment provided the same feeling of privilege as a
5* hotel room. After a long day of Olympic venue hopping, we felt we were
coming 'home', and not going back to our hotel. KS gave our Olympic trip a
welcomed 'guest' feeling that might have been difficult to find elsewhere
during the Games. While having to pay 'very high-season' prices, we
nevertheless feel we received full value for this 5* accommodation. And our
host, Mark, was a most generous, gracious and accommodating. Will
recommend to friends. -

A great little place to stay in a wonderful leafy suburb with a restaurant/shop strip just two blocks away. The owners have thought of everything and were most helpful with restaurant suggestions and transport advice. It is really a home away from home and my only criticism would be the shower curtain around the bath but thats just a personal gripe!
Highly reccommend saying here.
