Kitsilano Cottage, the structure, is a heritage designation qualified 1910 Craftsman bungalow, typical of the Kitsilano neighbourhood. It has been meticulously restored and ethically upgraded to provide modern living convenience while maintaining architectural integrity with its origins.

A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage is a single, upscale, self-contained, garden level suite, of approximately 825 sq. ft. There are two bedrooms. One has a king size bed and the other a queen size bed. There is, a queen sofabed in the living room. The furnishings are a blend of antique and authentic hardwood reproductions in the Craftsman, Arts & Crafts, Miss...ion or, as our guests from the United Kingdom fondly refer to it, Macintosh style.

The suite has a private entry, patio, separate private phone line with telephone answering device, flat screen LCD-TV with DVD/VCR and digital cable featuring Pay-Per-View and Video-On-Demand services, Broadband Internet access by Ethernet and WiFi, (we were the first accommodations, in Vancouver to offer complimentary high speed internet access to guests), bookshelf stereo with FM/CD/Cassette and a library of British Columbia artists' music, a single bathroom with tub/shower, full Cook's kitchen facilities including smooth top self-cleaning stove, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with chilled filtered water, ice and crushed ice dispenser, microwave, toaster, blender, kettle, espresso machine, drip coffee maker, pots & pans, full compliment of glassware, dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils and in suite laundry facilities, for guest use. Daily rate guests, staying over a week, are provided weekly linen changes and cleaning service. Breakfast is not served. Also for daily rate guests', the suite is provisioned with, fresh fruit and baking, coffee and tea preparation supplies for a complimentary, self catered, continental breakfast, for the first morning. Beyond that, we recommend the many wonderful restaurants, within walking distance. There is always the option of using the suite's very well appointed cooking facilities for preparing meals. There are several grocers, within easy walking distance, offering a good variety of favourite, meal preparation ingredients.

Please note, A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage does not allow pets, however we can recommend boarding services for the same. Note also that we are a non-smoking facility. While cigarette smoking outside is permitted, absolutely no smoking indoors is allowed.

Kitsilano District - Clearly one of the most desirable urban residential neighbourhoods in the world. It is cosmopolitan and near the warming influence of the waterfront, keeping the weather in a moderate range year around. It is located in the heart of Vancouver and Greater Vancouver, close to downtown and the University of British Columbia. It is typified by its myriad Arts & Crafts design homes on shade tree lined, quiet residential streets, lush gardens, green spaces and its chic business areas. Most of the very finest restaurants and nightlife venues, in all of Greater Vancouver, a city renowned for its great food, are within walking distance. Both wonderful boutique shopping and several beaches, again all within easy, safe walking distance, supplement this.

Granville Island – A must on any visitor’s list, Granville Island is built around a Public Market and a devotion to the Arts. Theatres, artist studios and fine dining venues abound. Or rent a boat or kayak and tour the beautiful waterways that define this city’s natural splendor.

Downtown and Stanley Park – Just across the Burrard Street Bridge, an architectural highlight itself, the downtown core offers the cosmopolitan appeal of Robson Street. Shop at some of the most recognized names from Paris to Rodeo Drive or explore the boundless nightlife and cultural venues. Enjoy the wonderful mix of architecture from the earliest days of Vancouver to today. All this is immediately adjacent the jewel of the crown, Stanley Park. Very quiet, residential neighbourhood, defined by its always green, lush plantings, tree lined streets and classic heritage, Arts & Crafts architecture. Nestled between chic, upscale businesses, a couple of blocks on either side. These include most of the finest restaurants in Greater Vancouver, sidewalk cafes, performing arts venues and something for everyone, boutique shopping. Kitsilano and neighbouring Pt. Grey offer many gorgeous sandy beaches and waterfront parks. We are close, only ten minutes, from the hustle bustle of downtown and from the lovely University of BC campus. Whether your passion is quiet relaxation, golf, vigorous beach or forest walks/runs/biking, water sports, theatre, live music, gourmet foods or shopping, it is all here, within walking distance. Fondly remembered as, in the day, Vancouver's version of the Bay Area's Haight-Ashbury. The cars are still German, but flower painted microbuses have given away to luxury and speed. However, for those who notice such things, some of the spirit still hangs in the neighbourhood.

All rates are in Canadian dollars.

The base rate for each Season is base on Single or Double Occupancy. Additional Adults, including Twin Occupancy, (two adults using two bedrooms) are billed at $50/night/adult.

Children, twelve years and under are billed at $25/night/child and are welcome.

Stays of seven or more consecutive nights are discounted 5%, (this is factored into the rates presented above). Stays of fourteen or more consecutive nights are discounted 10%, (includes but is not additive to the 5% discount). Longer stays are quoted on a query by query basis. Rates for such stays are dependant on time of the year and the expected demand, the duration and the number of guests. Please inquiry, preferably well in advance, about the cost for such stays. Well in advance is about our normal pattern of booking confirmations primarily being a month to several months in advance. Often this makes longer stay queries not viable because we have bookings for a few months from the inquiry date.
We operate on a 30 Day Cancellation Policy. Bookings not cancelled 30 days prior to check in date are billed to the booking credit card, in full. If we are able to resell the time, a refund can be made. The maximum amount of refund is the full amount paid, less a one day's cost holdback, to cover costs. This is our Cancellation Fee.

  Check in to the cottage before shopping for food! Chris stocks this charming garden apartment with beautiful gourmet bread, baked goods and treats from local shops.There was even a lovely red wine to enjoy on our first night and fresh flowers. The Kitsilano location is perfect for touring Vancouver with interesting shops and restaurants nearby.

  Third time's a charm at Kitsilano Cottage

  Kitsilano Cottage is the perfect vacation spot if you are planning to stay in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver. Located on a quiet side street where parking is always available and stores are within easy walking distance. Every time I come, I forget how great Christopher is about providing things that make your stay more enjoyable and convenient. Everything from the delicious food to coffee filters are in the suite so I would always recommend that clients visit the suite before going shopping. If you think you might need it, you will likely find it in the cupboard or fridge as Christopher has probably thought of it. Thank you again and we look forward to visiting you again in the future.
