L'appartamento di Cate è incantevole. E' dotato di ogni comfort ed è situato in un ottima posizione. A pochi minuti si raggiunge lo Skytrain in Commercial Drive e in poche fermate si raggiuge Downtown. Nelle vicinanze dell'appartamento c'è un piccolo supermecato dove si possono trovare le cose essenziali. Un altro supermercato più grande è alla fermata dello Skytrain, raggiungibile con bus. L'appartamento è al pian terreno della villetta in cui Cate vive, sempre disponibile per un aiuto, ma molto discreta. La cucina è attrezzata con tutto il necessario, anche lavastoviglie. E' a disposizione delgi ospiti la lavanderia, per utilizzo di lavatrice e asciugatrice. E' possibile cambiare gli asciugamani ogni volta che si vuole lasciandoli nel cesto in lavanderia. Per i mesi più caldi è a disposizione un deliizoso patio con due sedie all'esterno. E' a disposizione la linea wifi per il collegamento internet. Consiglio questa sistemazione per un piacevole soggiorno.

Great place to stay
Loved our stay at Garden Suite on East 10th - centrally located, easy access to Skytrain, bus. Able to walk to Commericial St. with various stores and restaurants. Cate made us feel very welcome and was most accomodating. Apartment is well stocked with everything you could need and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this as a holiday rental. Looking forward to coming again. Thanks Cate.
Perfect accommodation for solo traveller
I stayed at Cate's garden suite at the end of September 2012. The apartment is perfectly appointed, on a quiet pleasant residential street, and using public transport, it'ss around 20 mins to the Downtown core. However, there are also plenty of restaurants/coffee shops/quirky shops etc. on Commercial Drive which is 15 mins walk away.
The apartment is well equipped and very comfortable and even though it's basement level, it is light and airy, with a deck area to enjoy sitting out in the fresh air. There is everything you need to enjoy your stay - Cate even provides a 'Club' card to facilitate shopping at the supermarket next to the Skytrain station at Commercial Drive.
Cate is lovely, very helpful (she went out of her way to get the bus timetables for me, and called the cab company several times when the booked cab failed to appear on my way back to the airport to return home).
I will certainly book this apartment for my next trip to Vancouver, and can highly recommend this apartment.
We were delighted with our stay. Cate is such an accommodating hostess.

A perfect retreat to live and learn about Vancouver
My partner and I booked to stay with Cate at her garden suite in May 2012. We're both looking into emigrating to Canada, with Vancouver in mind and wanted to make sure that we experienced the city as closely as we could to being a local - and decided a holiday let over a hotel would help us do this.
The suite, location and Cate couldn't have worked out better for us. We used public transport from YVR and found the suite straight away. The comfy surrounds (and and ultra comfy bed) made our stay enjoyable. After long days exploring, all the equipment we needed was provided to eat in if we were too tired to head out!
We also hired a car and the secured parking was a real assest to us.
To sum it up, a really smart suite, great location, excellent hosts and free wifi made our trip a sucess and confirmed Vancouver is for us.
Have just booked again for October 2012.
We stayed at this property for 3 days in May. Cate is a lovely host who is there to assist you if necessary but otherwise lets you get on with your own business. The suite is lovely and cosy and has all that you need. There is plenty of natural light in the apartment and the location to buses and skytrain is very convenient. It is a nice street where the suite is located and is exceptional value for money. We were very comfortable staying here and if we were to go again this would definately be where we would want to stay.
My first time using flipkey, so I was apprehensive, but the Garden Suite turned out to be even better than I expected - incredible value, fantastic location, awesome suite, great service!
The beautiful cherry trees were in full bloom along the quiet residential street (it is a bikeway, so saw more bikes than cars) when we arrived. The suite was spotlessly clean, looked better and was more spacious than the photos showed. We were a family of five (5 month, 3 yo, 5yo) and managed a rainy afternoon or two inside without feeling overly cramped.
The queen bed was the most comfortable of our trip. Wonderful thick bath towels. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need to make a meal. It was also great for us to bring home takeout when the kids were too giddy for restaurants. On site laundry was a big help traveling with kids. The local phone was great, the wireless internet was excellent (15 Mbps DL / 2.84 Mbps UL) with a little desk in the bedroom that was perfect for a laptop.
Everything was within walking distance: bus stops on Broadway around the corner, a park with playground a little down 10th, the VCC (10 min) or Commercial Skytrain (15min) stations a pleasant walk. Shopping and restaurants on Commercial, another shopping/restaurant hub to the west at Broadway/Main/Kingsway. Touristy stuff was all in easy reach by transit.
Cate was absolutely wonderful. Always promptly returning emails, great for suggestions on activities, shopping, or restaurants. Offered to shuttle our luggage from the Skytrain on arrival. I broke my booklight in transit, she quickly took me over to meet the handy neighbour who helped fix it (glue is still holding BTW).
Overall, we couldn't be happier with our stay in the Garden Suite. It was so much nicer and a fraction of the price of hotels we looked at booking in Vancouver. Would definitely stay again, are already recommending it to friends and family.

"A Perfect 10"
Attention to detail. This is what Cate is all about. We have stayed in many self-catered apartments but have never experienced accommodation wherein all of the small things, which make a difference in feeling like you are at your home away from home, were at your fingertips. Cate's hospitality and generosity are outstanding. Although we never met, we felt comfortable in chatting with Cate via e-mail and appreciated her always prompt responses. She actually wrote to us while travelling in Paris to ensure that all was well. Imagine!
Everything in the apartment works beautifully and is set-up for those who like to read or need that little extra lighting. The separate bedroom is generous in size and has a convenient "workstation” which my husband absconded immediately. Plugs are everywhere and convenience is evident in how the apartment is laid out and in the furniture arrangement.
Let's not forget the wonderfully thick and thirsty towels that await you, including a bath sheet size which often is not found, except in five-star hotels. The washer and dryer are conveniently just outside your door, as are all the laundry/cleaning supplies you could want. Basic condiments are kept so you don't have to shop for such items as salt, pepper, and sugar, tea, etc. The convenience of a local phone is a bonus and the wireless internet access worked without a hitch.
The location is convenient to transportation yet in a quiet, residential area. Local buses are two blocks north on E. Broadway and a short walk of less than 15 minutes east takes you to the Skytrain and the shopping district on Commercial (The Drive). Within 30 minutes, or less, you are in the downtown area and near most of the tourist sites.
With the cost of lodging having skyrocketed in Vancouver since we were last here, Cate's accommodation offers good value, comfort, and a feeling of staying with a friend who knows how to take care of all of your need.

The suite is well-located on a quiet street with easy access to public transport, delivering the visitor to many of Vancouver's best destinations. It is extremely comfortable with every amenity one could want.
The owner is extremely helpful, without being intrusive.
Five star accommodation at three star prices
Our first impression was of a modern, freshly decorated and furnished, well laid-out space. The flat is completely independent and private. It's very quiet and peaceful, so together with the luxurious bed, we slept very well during our visit. Facilities include high speed internet, laundry facilities, dishwasher, TV/DVD and phone for local calls. Public transport (bus and skytrain within close proximity, as are a variety of shops and restaurants). Cate was extremely welcoming and unobtrusive. All in all, a perfect base for the modern traveller.
Great location, spotlessly clean and a friendly, helpful owner
A very nice, clean and bright basement apartment on a quiet street. Just one street from East Broadway, it is a two minute walk to the bus stop, or a ten minute walk to the skytrain. The owner was outstanding - knowing I was here with my teenage daughter - and gave me lots of info and suggestions on things to do and places to see. She went way beyond the service you would receive in almost any other lodging.
I definitely intend to stay here for future visits to Vancouver!
