The apartments are spacious, very clean and comfy with 2 bedrooms with bathrooms attached, a living/study/lounge room, fully stocked kitchen (incl even a fridge, pots, pans, cutlery and an electric stove), a balcony/porch and free and (relatively) fast WiFi. No generator. Location is peaceful and quiet in a friendly residential area less than a minutes' walk from the cliff, shops, restaurants and beaches.
Service is impeccable, very friendly and accommodating but not intrusive.
I have been traveling in India for about 10 years and have never found a place which makes me feel at home as much as Savasana does. Will stay here every time I come to Varkala for more than a few days!! -

Faith and Saji will help you have the best stay in Varkala. The house is spacious. It is well placed. Faith is on hand to help with anything you need. Saji can take you on an awesome tour. Varkala is awesome, but Faith's hospitality was really the cherry on top. Highly recommended.

We stayed in one of Faith's apartments and everything was great! The place was spotless, spacious, and in a good location. Faith was fantastic! She went out of her way to help us with anything we needed, including helping us to get a cell phone, escorting us into Trivandrum to get our computer fixed, showing us the best shops and restaurants, where to get a haircut, etc. She even invited us for Christmas dinner at her house, and her husband Saji prepared a fantastic traditional Kerala feast. If you are looking for an apartment in Varkala, her places are a great choice!

This place and it's owner are stellar! I will follow Faith. She knows everything about everything you need to know and never ceases to go above, beyond, and past the stratosphere, to make sure you have the best time possible ever! I make sure I go where ever she is at least three times a trip to India and I have been going for 11 years. All ways impeccably clean! All ways has the perfect blend of people staying there. Fun fun fun! While being respectful and relaxing. The place is easily accessible to everything and so much cheaper than the rip off dumps directly on the cliff. everyone can go out and party and it's so close or go to the beach and you still can relax in peace and quiet at her place! I give my personal guarantee you will fall in love with her, this place, and probably whoever you are with there.Enjoy! See you there!

I have been going to Varkala for many years and last year I stayed with Faith and Saji for 1 month upon recommendation of a fellow traveller. Faith really made me feel at home as I was welcome to use the kitchen whenever I wanted and organized for my laundry to be picked up and delivered back to me fresh and beautifully ironed.. She and Saji prepared a delicious Xmas dinner with local fresh produce for anyone who wanted to join in. Saji is an amazing cook with many years experience cooking in many places around India. He also has a great sense of humor and the most beautiful singing voice.
Faith keeps her guest house super clean and will arrange day or shopping trips and is very helpful with any other inquiries you may have during your stay.
Savasana homestay is a 7 - 10minute walk to the main beach and The Cliff where most of the shops and restaurants are situated. It is an easy and very pleasant walk and I love the fact it is in a little street that many locals still live in. So local in fact fresh milk is delivered by a man on a bicycle everyday! I have stayed with Faith twice and would do so again if/when I return! The accommadation is comfortable, clean and a perfect place to come home to after a long day at the beach! Varkala is a wonderful village to unwind and relax after the mayhem of travelling around India.

Thanks Tracy! We always love having you... when will you come again??? It must be getting cold in BC by now - I'm still not wearing socks. We often tell people that Varkala is kind of like "India Lite", in that is is still very much an Indian place, but just a bit more mellow, softer. Perhaps less mayhem???
