The west side is LA's most desirable area, and you can't get much farther west than 1/2-block from famous Venice Beach. Cool ocean breezes keep this spacious apartment comfortable, so no air conditioning is required (very few Venice Beach residential buildings have a/c).
This is a quiet residential neighborhood. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. We don't allow parties or late-night gatherings outside on the patio, so come prepared for low-key chilling (the houses at the beach are very close together and any outdoor sound gets amplified -- our neighbors are peaceful, quiet folks and are very sensitive to this).
We love this area for its eclectic mix of people, the wonderful sea breezes and the fun, carnival atmosphere of the boardwalk. The walkstreets of Venice provide a tranquil getaway, just steps from the boardwalk action. Just two blocks to the east is trendy Abbott Kinney Blvd, with wonderful shops, restaurants, galleries and cafes. Your timing might be right to catch a farmer's market, a street fair or glimpse a celebrity!

Stayed in the lovely loft apartment for three days. Beautiful home in the heart of Venice. Our first time in Santa Monica and if we return we'd definitely stay here again!

There isn't anything bad to say location-wise, everything in Venice Beach is in walking distance, so this is a great spot if you want to be in the area. Bed was comfortable and the backyard looked gorgeous! If you are looking for a full kitchen you may be let down, but in our case, as long as we had a fridge and some glasses we were more than happy. It was a bit chilly in the apartment, there was a portable heater included which we used non-stop, so consider having a sweater if you are chilly like me. Free Wifi included, which was a huge plus. The only downsides I would say were the parking which we knew from the start was going to be small, but thankfully we were able to use the full large space while we were there (but you may not be so lucky). There also was a 50$ cleaning fee to be paid that wasn't included in the initial listed price which I think should be included so we get a better idea of the actual rental price.

Very disappointed we stayed 1 night having booked for 6 and left to stay in an hotel. The bathroom is very clean but there is nothing else to recommend the apartment unless the weather is wonderful and you can sit outside the whole time. The time of year we went the apartment felt really cold and damp, even with the heater going full pelt, and just like a basement with no kitchen sink in which to wash a cup and saucer. We left after knowing it would spoil our holiday to stay in such a basic place. We knew it was inexpensive but the pictures do not give a true impression. I stayed with my son, so I had the bedroom and he had the settee which would have been fine but he also said it was terribly uncomfortable.

We're very surprised to read this complaint, made more than three months after her visit. This guest was delighted upon check-in, and we never heard mention of problem thereafter.
Our utmost concern is always the comfort and satisfaction of our guests. We do whatever it takes to fix any problems, which are rare. We provide space heaters and cozy linens and blankets, but we never heard from this guest that they were in any way uncomfortable.
We do take issue with the remark about our property photos. These images accurately reflect the character and quality of the apartment. If anything, the garden patio picture does not do justice to the reality!
Guests enjoy our lovely beach getaway to go to the beach and enjoy the outdoors. We typically get rave reviews from our guests, and have had many repeat visitors. Our listing states quite clearly that our cute apartment has "everything but the kitchen sink" (there's a fully-equipped breakfast bar with microwave, dual hotplate, toaster and coffeemaker). If you're planning to cook gourmet meals for a large group, this "mini-kitchen" set-up might not suffice.
It should be noted that we have recently replaced the sofa bed, which was fine for most guests but a few found the old one uncomfortable. The new one is quite comfy, and folks seem to love it.
The vast majority of our guests have been more than happy and had a wonderful time! -

A lovely find! My husband and I travel quite frequently for work and have just recently discovered Flipkey! What a find! We traditionally use Homeaway and we have found a significant improvement on selection with Flipkey, "The Quiet Garden Oasis being one of them". It truly is steps from the beach, the location is fantastic, just far enough away from all the crazies on the Venice Beach Boardwalk, but within walking distance to everything. The rental went off without a hitch, the place was clean, parking was a bit of an issue, you absolutely cannot have a large car! My only complaint was no sink in the kitchen. Other than that it was great value for the money. I would have loved to have seen the suites located above us, however we did not have enough time. The perfect location for a quick getaway!

A simply wonderful way to spend a vaction. The site is close to everything and is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Venice experience. It is literally no more than 100 steps to the sand. In just seconds you can be jogging along the boardwalk to Santa Monica, laying on the beach in the sun, picking up a newspaper at the corner store, dropping into the Sidewalk Cafe or renting a bicycle. The owners are great people which makes it all the better. Everything is as advertised and as promised!
