This is my absolute favorite place to stay when I'm on the road (which I am all the time). I've stayed in this unit, and the studio unit next door, and both provide a spotlessly clean, well-appointed, comfy space in which to entertain, work, and rest.
Having Venice Beach and all it's charm and character just steps away is a fantastic added bonus!
Kevin & Sydney have created such a beautiful oasis in this property - I would definitely recommend a stay here. -

I was very nervous about booking this rental, not because of the actual rental or the owners who were wonderful. I was told by friends and read on tripadvisor Venice beach and that part in particular was very dirty and full of homeless and druggies. Well... Imho the whole of la is like that.. No escaping that.. As far as Venice beach and the house location we loved it and felt very safe and secure. We walked to restaurants on and off the beach walk, day and night. It was winter and a rainy week this may have kept things tamer. The house itself was great from the secure parking right at your door, lovely grassed shared garden so you don't feel trapped inside like a hotel to the full kitchen. It is quite small and we did feel a bit squished with 2 kids (10, 12) and 2 adults, the bathroom is tiny too. Would we return... Absolutely, maybe we will rent the top floor one that's 2 bedrooms. The winning deal on this house is the location,

Glad to have received this review ~ a golden opportunity to clarify three important points for future Venice Beach travelers...
(1) Contrary to Albert Hammond's 1972 hit song ~ 'it occasionally does rain in southern California.'
(2) The Venice Beach of today has lost the rough edges of decades past, metamorphising into a world-renown, premier vacation spot with something to offer for everyone.
(3) Our one-bedroom apartment is... exactly that - a one-bedroom apartment. If you desire space over economy, we recommend our 2-bedroom rental (FlipKey #312790) -

My wife Karen and my 17 and 19 year old kids stayed at Venice Oceanside Retreat during the last week of april 2012 , Kevin and Sydney made us feel right at home after what had been a fantastic family Holiday travelling from New York across the USa .We needed a place like this to relax and finish the Southern California leg of our vacation , we'll definitely stay here again when we visit L a pending availability ,big thanks ! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation here. We've used Vrbo before and this was the best rental yet. Great location - we could walk to just about every place we wanted to go and the beach was right outside the front gate. The property was well cared for and very spacious. Everything we needed was right there; kitchen utensils, bathroom amenities, extra towels, iron, blow dryer,... down to the smallest detail. The free wi-fi came in handy for us to use our laptops, and HBO on Demand kept us entertained. Two secure parking spaces were a major bonus when friends arrived for a visit. We especially enjoyed the big yard where we could get sun and keep our bikes. Kevin & Sydney were great hosts in every way. Two thumbs up. We'll be back next year...

Review: This was by far the nicest vacation rental we've ever stayed in. The property was impeccably clean and ideally located. Kevin & Sydney were wonderfully attentive to anything we needed. Both beds were extremely comfortable. We especially enjoyed the indoor-outdoor aspect of the cabana. Sunset was our favorite time of day - it was so nice to walk out the gate and be right there at the beach. We would highly recommend this spot to our friends. Looking forward to next year -

My husband and I really enjoyed staying here. The minute we rolled back the gate and saw the yard we were in heaven. We were greeted on arrival with a bowl of fresh fruit. The place was very clean and fully stocked with all kinds of thoughtful touches. The Venice vibe was great and we had such an entertaining time walking around on the boardwalk. The house was literally steps from the beach and also near restaurants, groceries and shopping. It was like a peaceful oasis a few blocks from a fun filled carnival. The open kitchen was a pleasure to cook in. Our bed was insanely comfortable - we slept like babies. The owners were very helpful and low-key. We had a blast. Can't wait to come back.
