Description from the manager

A delightful ‘palazzetto’ apartment for four, impeccably decorated and furnished in traditional Venetian style with a definite touch of romance and featuring an amazing terrace overlooking a lovely canal. Located in a peaceful setting in between the Campo Sant’ Angelo and the famous Teatro La Fenice and only 5 minutes on foot to St. Mark’s Square.

Bright and beautifully presented with many delicate and elegant touches including fine brocades, chandeliers, ornate mirrors and wall sconces, Ca’ Canal Terrace is on the third floor and lies just above its sister apartment (and one of our most popular properties)...Read more

      Great Location and view

Left on 10/17/2012 for a stay in September 2012

4 of us stayed here for 6 days. The service from views on venice was very good although they did not expect a cash deposit when they had asked us specifically to provide one.The apartment is well cared for ,large and very clean. As our weather was good we were able to make full use of the very large balconey at the start and end of our days.As a photographer it let me take pictures in the changing light without having to be dressed to go out in public! The apartment is above a canal which is regulaly used by Gondeliers and you can fully experince the singing and playing. This is not intrusive.Very good location and handy for the vaparetto stop. The apartment has a couple of umbrellas and rain ponchos which may come in handy and save on your luggage. The only disadvantage is that the second bedroom is small and hot.The mattresses are short as well so anybody above small to average height will not enjoy the experience. The other bedroom (which I Had) is great.Take the advice of Trip advisor or your greeter about resteraunts. Our friends used one of the local non recomended ones on arrival and paid a fortune for a poor meal and shoddy service.Across the canal from the opera house and our rooms looked significantly better than the ones I could see in the opera house hotel for much more money. We had no trouble with the stairs but remember there is no lift and 59 stairs on 4 floors to reach your front door.

      Overall Excellent Experience

Left on 10/17/2011 for a stay in September 2011

Views On Venice Staff was great. Be advised that this property is not air conditioned & can be quite hot at the wrong time of year ( June / July / August). Even in September it was stuffy until we had the windows open 24 hours. It is (as they say) 4 full flights up & the climb is significant (especially with luggage ). Definitely a challenge for older folks. Good News is that you are above the fray & typical tourist types. Balcony is wonderful & unit is very comfortable. Location (near everything) is great. Especially great is location near music venues. Not easy to locate so highly recommend you take a water taxi & have Views on Venice meet the taxi. Also recommend you hire a porter (Views on Venice will arrange). Porter will take luggage from water taxi to unit & up the stairs (cost = 30 Euros & worth it). Since we visit Venice for the music -- All music venues are within 2-3 squares of the unit (great) !! Opera House is one square away !! Well away from San Marco & Cruise Ship Tourists (great) !! Best Restaurant we ate in Europe (Martini in Opera Square) is steps away as are other nice restaurants. Unit is very spacious & would work for a family -- kids bedroom looks hot (we did not use). Made 2-3 Recommendations to Views on Venice for improvement & they plan to execute. Staff was superior. Just need to recognize: This is a very old building & does not have a/C. Added attraction: Gondolas troll by at intervals (with singing) so you certainly get the Venice Experience !!
Tip: Also hire the porter to take luggage to water taxi when you leave. Take water taxi direct to airport or wherever. Views on Venice arranged a discount on water taxi which basically paid for the porter.
Water Taxi ride to the airport was wonderful -- essentially like getting another private tour of the Grand Canal (with photo ops). To us: Venice is about the music & this property is perfectly suited to that type visit.

      Ciao Bill & Cathy

Delighted you had a good time enjoying the music of Venice and thank you so much for your recommendations which I’m sure future guests will find useful (we are always happy to help wherever we can with arranging extras such as porter assistance and such like – just ask and we’ll always do our very best!) Hoping very much that you’ll return again soon (perhaps for a performance at La Fenice or another Venice venue…?)and with all best wishes from myself and the team.

      Fantastique

Left on 08/09/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Absolutely beautiful apartment. Very central location - a few minutes to the San Marco piazza but on a quiet street - just the church bells and music from the passing gondolas. The apartment is exquisitely decorated - OTT venice style - chandeliers, paintings, etc - just lovely. Like staying in someone's home. Everything is provided. Huge terrace with rollout awning. Only downside was the hot water pressure for the shower. Rachel from Views on Venice was friendly and very helpful.

Ciao Margaret T - great to hear from you with details of what sounds like a lovely Venetian stay (despite the issue regarding the hot water pressure for the shower which I’m pleased to report has been fixed) – my sincere apologies for this and many thanks for bringing it to our attention. Hoping very much that we see you again and ‘Ciao’ from everyone here in the team.

Lovely apartment in a great location

Left on 07/30/2011 for a stay in June 2011

We had a wonderful stay at Ca' Canal Terrace. The location was perfect - just a few minutes to the Fenice theatre, San Marco and the Gallerie dell'Accademia. And the apartment was equipped with everything you could possibly need.

Despite the central location, the apartment was lovely and quiet - apart from occasional singing from the gondolas below, which was a real treat. In fact, we enjoyed the view from the roof terrace so much that we had all our meals there and failed to venture to a single restaurant during our stay.

Looking forward to staying there again...

A delightful place over a canal frequented by gondolos. Spacious and well-equipped. We we're happy just to hang out on the terrace and watch Venice go buy, occasionally joining in song the gondoliers.

      Perfect Location, Beautiful Apartment

Left on 11/13/2009 for a stay in September 2009

My husband and I stayed at Ca' Canal Terrace for 8 nights in Septembber. It was a wonderful find. The photos do not lie, and the terrace is gorgeous overlooking a small but active canal. How romantic! And the location is perfect.

There were only a few things that bothered us, but they are minor. They describe the entrance as three "short" flights of stairs when it was actually three LONG flights... a little tough after a long day loaded with packages. The tub shower was weak... no pressure and you need to take care getting in and out of the tub. No A/C which we don't use anyway, but the mosquitos were pretty bad so we couldnt't leave the windows open. We found a floor fan in the closet which helped. And the bed was somewhat uncomfortable. (Remember, we were there for 8 nights!)

LOVED the washer AND dryer, and the full sized fridge/freezer! LOVED sitting on the terrace both morning and evening... We would return without a doubt.

      Fantastic apartment, great location

Left on 10/11/2009 for a stay in September 2009

THis apartment is very situated and is very well equipped. The terrace is the best feature and worth climbing all those stairs to get to the apartment on the top floor. The only negatives are the shower which is not very powerful, or is the bath very clean, and the fact that there is no A/C and the windows need some repair. Watch out for the mosquitos if you open the windows at night..!

A truly venetian experience not to be missed

Left on 06/30/2009 for a stay in June 2009

We were greeted from the water taxi by the representative and escorted directly to the apartment where we received all the information we needed regarding the apartment and tips on how best to get around Venice.
The apartment is superbly decorated in true Venetian style and felt very much like a home rather than a holiday apartment.
The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from San Marco yet very quiet, we spent a great deal of time on the vast terrace watching (and listening!) as the gondeliers passed by below.
The only downside would be the number of steps up to the apartment but this is a small price to pay and a means of working off the pasta!
