Annecy, FranceNice and quiet apartment in Venice
Left on 11/25/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We were in Venice for 4 days in November, 2 parents and 2 teenagers. The apartment was perfect for our purpose with 2 separate rooms (1 double bed, 2 single beds), a well appointed kitchen and a large living room overlooking a small canal. It is on the second floor via a steep, but straight stair. It is well located with the vaporetto stop and a supermarket 5 min walk away (in different directions). We enjoyed our stay and View on Venice provided good support with taxi bookings to and from the airport.

Left on 10/05/2012 for a stay in September 2012
This is a very comfortable apartment with the best equipped kitchen of any holiday home I have ever rented. The location is good - easily accessible but also quiet. The rep was waiting as arranged when we got off the boat from the airport and arrived promptly when we were leaving. Highly recommended apartment and agent.

IlkleyGreat Location, Spacious apartment
Left on 09/12/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This apartment is only 15 minutes walk away from either St. Marks or Rialto, but is away from the really busy tourist areas. It has views over a pretty canal and there is no noise to keep you awake at night. Supermarket is only five minutes away in Campo san Margherita where there are also bars and restaurants. The apartment itself was clean and well equipped. Wi-Fi worked fine. We have no negatives to say about it!
The views on Venice representative met us at the water bus stop (run by a company called alilaguna, 25 euros return trip per person from airport), as previously arranged by e-mail and showed us to the apartment and explained everything - most helpful. We had a fantastic 5 night stay.

Left on 09/12/2012 for a stay in July 2012
My husband, two teen children and I stayed in this apartment in Venice this July. We arrived exhausted and hot from lots of prior travel, and this cool, spacious, and spotless apartment was just what we were looking for! The representatives from Views on Venice were very punctual and helpful. The apartment was quite spacious, with a good sized living room, large dining room, 2 good sized bedrooms and a large kitchen. We really enjoyed staying in the Dorsoduro district, which was much quieter than the area around St. Mark's, but still gave us easy access to everything.

Riverside, CAAwesome Venice Experience
Left on 06/29/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Loved this location! Our location was a 25 minute walk from San Marco but for us this was a blessing. San Marco was way too busy. Our location was perfect for us. The street is on a quiet charming canal that was graffiti free (Venice has a lot of graffiti everywhere). We were with in 4 minutes of Campo San Barnaba which had restaurants and shops, a 7 minute walk from the accademia Vaporetto stop and bridge. We did not get lost at all but if you do ... it's all part of the experience. Views on Venice was awesome, their communication was excellent. I had to change my check in time at the last minute due to a flight cancellation and they changed it and were assuring and made me feel comfortable with the last minute change. Views on Venice scheduled our water taxi who was waiting for us at the dock, Valentina met us at the taxi drop off and walked us up to the apartment, showed us around and showed us where we were on the map and made suggestions on getting around. She was great, how convenient and easy this was !! Staying in an apartment is sooo much better than a hotel. You can see how the locals live, shop, take out their trash, do their laundry. We got to hang our laundry in between building, take a little cart to shopping, walk to get pastries. The apartment itself was very spacious, maybe 1100-1200 square and had everything we needed. The decor was plain and outdated but it had everything we need. The internet worked well, the kitchen was a good size, the bathroom was nice size (small shower so if you are a big person be advised). There were about 20 steps up to the apartment but I think this is the case through out Venice due to high water. The entry to the apartment is an old door and then you enter through a shared hallway to the stair way. This entry area is like an old brick lined basement and my 8 year old found it "scary". We really loved our stay here and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience and compared to other apartments I rented in Italy, Ca' Canaletto exceeded my expectations. This roomy and practical the apartment provided warm (we were travelling in winter) and comfortable surroundings including windows onto the peaceful canal which we opened each morning just to drink in the atmosphere. I would stay again in a flash

Left on 01/12/2012 for a stay in December 2011
We loved Venice and I think part of our enjoyment was having an apartment that made us feel at home. Ca'Canaletto had 2 bedrooms for my family of 4 and a great big table in the formal dining/lounge area. We used it as our end of day map and review headquarters planning our next day of fun in Venice. The kitchen was modern and was fitted with everything you need right up to Illy coffee and olive oil and balsamic, we had a great cooked breakfast ecah morning before we headed off. Supermarkets are close by and so are all the restaurants. it is a bit away from the crowds and has it's own canal. I have already recommended it to friends of ours. I will definitely book this apartment on our next visit to Venice.Btw Rachael was great meeting us at the vaporetto and going through everything we needed to know.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ca' Canaletto. We were welcomed at the waterbus stop and got a thorough explanation of everything at the apartment. Rachele was wonderful about tracking down our lost luggage. We really loved the location on beautiful Rio de Romite, so close to lovely Campo San Barnaba - best location in Venice. We love to walk and walked all over the city. The apartment was very comfortable for 4 of us, with a well equipped kitchen we used for a breakfast party that grew to 10 people very comfortably. It was particularly convenient to have the washing machine and the wifi access.

Left on 11/17/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Excellent service and beautiful apartment. It has two large bedrooms and large kitchen and bathroom but they are dwarfed by the dining area and separate large lounge area. If you wished to have a dinner party for eight or more people it would not seem crowded. The location is excellent with short walk to major Museums and Churches and either Zattere or Ca'Rezzonico for the water bus. Supermarket is easy walking distance. Good restuarants nearby. We wish we could have stayed much longer. The entrance to the building has not yet been fully restored but even that is charming in its own way. Ann and Peter Wood Manchester UK

Hoping you and your daughter have a lovely Christmas and with all the best from the VOV team.

ViewsonVenice added greatly to our stay in Venice.
They made our entry, time there, and exit from the City as smooth as possible. Attention was paid to detail in the apartment and in providing us with service and information while we were there. Response to questions and concerns were full and prompt. The apartment is in just the right place for people who want to be in the middle of Venice without being in the midst of tourists. A great apartment in a great neighborhood full of cafes and restaurants and small shops and a vaporetto ride away from anything. Way beyond our expectations.Response from Views on Venice - 11/08/2011

Left on 11/03/2011 for a stay in October 2011
My husband found this apartment online and emailed Views of Venice for advice about what to do about getting to Venice and what to do there. They responded in good time with great advice - couldn't do enough. They basically said this is what we are going to do and did it.
We booked a water taxi with them and our flight was an hour late - they were still there to meet us and the person who showed us round the apartment was also there. No problems at all.
The apartment was clean, very elegant, in a great location and extremely quiet. We had our young daughter there and she made it her home straight away. We had everything we needed. The wireless facility was very useful for looking for places to go and also for weather etc as we went in October. They also had Sky+ but we did not watch any tv.
There was easy access to vaporetto and a supermarket and also to a number of charming restaurants.
We loved staying there and would fully recommend the apartment and the agency.Response from Views on Venice - 11/08/2011

Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Views on Venice were as always exceptional - from the meet & greet right through our 6 week stay, no question or request was ever a problem. Ca' Canaletto is spacious & very well-equipped, especially the kitchen which has everything you'd have at home, not just the basic holiday stuff. Reliable, highspeed broadband and a wonderful position on the Fondamente delle Romite, one of the prettiest streets in Venice. It's quiet, but close to everything, particularly Campo San Barnaba & Campo Santa Margherita. There are 2 vaporetto stops within a few minutes walk, one on the Grand Canal, one on the Zattere, & the Billa supermarket is a short walk & only 2 bridges away. We bought monthly imob passes for the vaporetto, by far the most economical way if you're staying any length of time. During Carnivale, we could be in the heart of the action in busy San Marco, or retreat home to Ca' Canaletto & experience total peace & tranquillity. Taverna San Trovaso (a particular favourite restaurant) is less than 5 minutes away, or La Profeta in the opposite direction. Winebars in Campo San Barnaba (Caffè Bar ai artisti), in Campo Santa Margherita (Margaret Duchamp), or on the Zattere (Nico's) offered warm friendly service whichever way we walked in the evenings. What we liked best was living in a 'residential' area of Venice, having the opportunity to shop at local markets and vinaria, travel around the city, & then cook at home & relax in comfort. What we liked least was leaving! This is our sixth experience with Views on Venice and our second stay at Ca' Canaletto, so you can say we're extremely satisfied customers and wouldn't use anyone else.

From beginning to end our stay at Ca'Canaletto was wonderful. Despite being over an hour late the friendly representative met us at the vaporetto stop and guided us to our home for nine nights, where she carefully went over the apartment with us and answered our questions. The apartment was extremely comfortable and spacious. After a busy day out dealing with large crowds of tourists, it gave us a true feeling of returning home, of sanity and tranquility and yet---the sights and busy campos where only a short walk away.

Left on 11/01/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We've just got back from 4 nights staying at Ca' Canaletto and couldn't recommend it more highly. The arrangements made by Views on Venice were thoughtful, efficient and helpful and the apartment is incredibly comfortable, spacious and quiet. But it's also brilliiant for getting around - and away from the main tourist drags. You're less than 5 minutes from the restaurants and cafes of the Zattere and Campo San Barbara and the accademia Bridge. But you're tucked away by a peaceful pretty little cansal with a real neighbourhood feel. Billa supermarket - on the Zattere and open every day including Sunday - is only a 5-10 minute walk and the traghetto across the Grand Canal at Ca' Rezzonico is about the same distance in the other direction. We ate excellent meals at ai Profeta, Oniga and Casini Dei Nobili, all a short stroll from the front door. And if your'e going to be there for 3 days or more, the Venice Connected card from HelloVenezia which covers both vaporetto rides and admission to many museums makes everything very convenient - and a lot cheaper than it would otherwise be!

This apartment is located in the Dorsoduro sestiere of Venice, along a peaceful and quaint canal, a few minutes walk from Ca'Rezzonico and Campo San Barnaba. Although close to amenities, the area had a secluded, magical feel that I absolutely loved. I also found that the Dorsoduro was my favorite part of Venice overall, full of lively campos and charming small canals. I highly recommend this location!
There were two excellent grocery stores within a ten minute walk: the Billa on the Zattere, and another on Santa Margherita Campo. Even closer were the excellent bakery of Rizzo Pane and the GROM gelateria on Campo San Barnaba, our favorite restaurant Pane Vino e San Daniele on Calle Lunga S. Barnaba. There were plenty of other good looking restaurants and cafes in the area as well.
The building was old but apparently in good shape. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet -- I loved waking early and listening out the windows, hearing nothing but the lap of water and creaking of boats. The furniture was in excellent shape and the house was very clean. The beds were very comfortable, and the bedding itself was of very good quality. The bathtub was ENORMOUS! It was probably the deepest tub I've had the pleasure of bathing in, and it never ran out of hot water.
I was blown away by how nice the apartment was -- the pictures on the website are nice but it was even better in person. And it was so spacious and yet homey.
Views on Venice were fabulous! We made all arrangements via email. We managed to lock ourselves out on the first day just before the office closed, and the representative at the office agreed to stay 15 minutes late so we could race over to get the spare key.
I would most definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone! The only drawback I can see to this apartment is that if you really wanted to be in the center of the nightlife and bustle of tourist activity, you might prefer a location closer to San Marco's. But for us, it was perfect! -

Left on 08/16/2009 for a stay in July 2009
We have travelled to many locations over the years, but Views On Venice stand out above all others for organising accommodation. From the original enquiry to final departure the service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment, "Ca'Canaletto" was located along a quiet, but attractive canal, just a few minutes walk from the main waterways, water buses, restaurants and supermarket. The property offered all the amenities, including portable AC unit and was clean and in good decor.
Being close to the main water buses meant that we were only 10 minutes away from St Marks Square, but also within 5 minutes walk to canal front restaurants where we could watch anything from small boats to cruise liners pass by.
The supermarket offered most essentials and considering the weakness of sterling, prices were reasonable.
Best way to arrive at the apartment is by Water Taxi from Marco Polo Airport - ?95 but if 4 people are sharing the cost then very convenient, particularly if you arrive late at night like we did. We departed Venice by service bus to the airport costing ?52 for 4 persons.
We purchased a 3 day water bus pass (?33 each)for unlimited travel, not cheap, but by far the most cost effective. We certainly made use of them travelling to other islands, doing the complete circular tour on the No.1 bus and going back and forth to St Marks.
Of course, St Marks is a must - the tower, Basilica and the Doge Palace, but move well away from the Square for eating and drinking, unless you have plenty of money! The atmosphere, however, particularly at night with all the musical quartets is something not to miss.
Watchout for cover/service charges when eating, a few restaurants have dropped them, but it's not unusual to pay ?3 per person just to sit down.
Venice is an exceptional city and would strongly recommend "Views on Venice" to arrange your accommodation. It is an expensive city, made worse by sterlings weakness, but worth every euro! -
