Akron, OhioAbsolutely the best place to stay in Venice
Left on 07/06/2012 for a stay in June 2012
I actually felt sorry for the thousands of overnight visitors who stayed elsewhere in Venice. Unlike most every other place I found, the Dimora Tintoretto features two large balconies that overlook two active boat canals at the same time, and the premises had everything we could have dreamed of (including air conditioning, kitchen, and clothes washing machine).
We spent most of our time sitting out on the very large balcony watching and listening to the gondoliers and other boats passing by. Because of our perched view, 4 stories up, we didn't hear any noise when inside the very comfortable and spacious apartment.
The management was very responsive to our every need and question, and even supplied us with a map of Venice showing us where the local food stores and best places to eat close by were.
Our only negative experience had nothing to do with this apartment: We made the mistake of eating dinner at a restaurant (not suggested by our apartment management) that is located in the nearby square, next to the food coop. Part of the restaurant's name was "Capitain". Worst meal and service I think I ever had. All three of us felt the same way, and left having eaten less than a quarter.
We really want to go back to Venice, and I will only stay at one place, Dimora Tintoretto. -

Tacoma, WashingtonFabulous quiet location in Venice with beautiful canal views
Left on 07/08/2011 for a stay in June 2011
This was an excellent apartment. We rented the top floor unit. It was up quite a few flights of stairs, but nothing worse than we've encountered in other European cities. The location was fantastic...we were about a 15 minute walk from St. Mark's but we were worlds away. The unit had two decks that looked out over two smaller canals. Exiting the building, we walked into the typical Venetian maze of streets, but without the crowds! There was a little square with restaurants and a grocery store about 30 seconds away and we bought most of our food and meals there. The square was clearly a gathering place for locals and it was really fun to get to hang out there.
The apartment slept 5 comfortably...two in the master on a large bed, two on some twins in the second bedroom and one more on the pull out in the living room. Both bathrooms were plenty big enough. The kitchen was workable. The burners were a little hard to light at times and there is no coffee maker but for a french press machine. We shorted out the electricity a couple of times the first day. There is a breaker panel in the unit itself and another one downstairs by the front door. Make sure they show you where they are.
Also, someone from the unit met us at the train station and walked us to the unit. I had my doubts as to whether or not we would actually be able to find the contact for the walk over, but he was right where he was supposed to be and it was perfect.
This is a great unit! -

This apartment has comfortable furniture and all you'll need for a long or short stay. We stayed a week. Two large terraces perfect for al fresco breakfast and evening drinks. Above a crossroads of two canals, it's a busy and wonderfully local touch of real Venice. And local it is, most of the people you see, live there. Good restaurants and a lovely piazza within two minutes. Tuesday night in the piazza is tango night, take your dancing shoes!

Las Vegas, NevadaBeautiful apartment
Left on 06/11/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Our family of 6 recently stayed at the Dimora Tintoretto apartment for Four nights. We were met near the Venice St. Lucia train station by Francesco, a very nice & friendly young man who spoke very good English, something very hard to find in Italy. We walked about 10 min, after crossing two bridges and climbing 60 steps, we got to the apartment. The place is really nice, it has a big living area, a small kitchen, one big master bedroom with a separate small terrace, another small bedroom with two single beds, a desk and a bathroom, there is another bathroom in the hallway. There is a sofa bed in the living room but is very uncomfortable, my kids took turns sleeping in it. What we loved most about this
apartment was the huge terrace, we ate all our dinners out there. You could see the boats & gondolas go by and sometimes hear gondoliers sing. The apartment is about a 20 - 30 min. Walk to the Realto & St. Marc Square. There are restaurants and a small supermarket
about 2 minutes from the apartment. No transportation comes close to the apartment, so if
you need to get to the airport you must walk about 25 min. To Piazza Di Romma and take
either a public bus for 3 eu. or a private bus that costs 5 eu. We recommend the private bus
since the public transportation system is very unreliable as we learned. You can also take
the allilaguna water bus (not sure of the spelling) but it's more expensive. If you don't
have a very good sense of direction buy a good map of the streets or take a pen and paper to trace your path because it literally feels you are inside a maze. Venice is nice but is over stated, it's crowded, falling apart and very expensive. We did enjoy our time in Venice very much, but four nights was too much. Finally, I can not over emphasize the need to pack light in Italy, especially in
Venice. Enjoy your trip!!! -

New ZealandWonderful location with Italian feel

We found the service at Casa dei Pittori to be outstanding. The apartment is close to a campo where Italian families hang out in the late afternoon and early evening, so it avoids the touristy feel. There are a couple of great restaurants within two minutes walk and a supermarket. The apartment is spacious and the roof terrace superb with views over the junction of two canals.

Being just off the beaten track was wonderful.
The apartment is clean, light, large and comfortable.
There are good restaurants nearby. A very good vegetarian.
The balcony overlooks a canal crossroads and affords a great view of normal
Venetian life on the water.
It's the top apartment so there are a few stairs but nothing that would bother
anyone.
We are a family of four (two teenage kids) and we had a great time. -

At 1st - Alfonso thanks for all. We had a wonderfull week in Autumn Venice, Ca'Tiepolo. Very good location, quiet place, nice surroundings. It was unforgetable to enjoy morning cappucino and watch maiden voyages of gondolas and others boats passing the windows of appartements. Our family motto: "The life is short, the World is big - we haven't time to come back to the same place". But it was 2nd our visit to Venezia.....We think - not the last.

We spent six lovely days at Dimora Tintoretto. The apartment is nothing short of spectacular. Even in October the two amazing balconies on the top floor of an ancient palazzo provided a wonderful observation point to soak up the sights, sounds and scents of Venice. In addition to being beautiful, the property is well managed, with care and attention to detail, making sure the visitor gets the most of their Venetian experience. The night we arrived was very cold for Venice, but the apartment was perfectly heated.
The house is also located in a lovely neighbourhood, with a charming but quiet square at the centre of it. Everything is walking distance but without the noise and craziness of San Marco. In a city where many restaurants tend to be relatively uniform and touristy, La Zucca is a gem, and that incredible pumpkin flan they make will only be a couple of minutes away if you're lucky enough to stay at Dimora Tintoretto. Highly recommended!
