Description from the owner
Ca' Tiepolo is the widest apartment in the Casa dei Pittori palace (110 mq + 14 courtyard), located on the ground floor (but completely safe regarding high tide problems, the so-called acqua alta). The entrance is encompassed by a private courtyard that ensures an absolutely tranquil, intimate atmosphere. Marble floors in the typical Venetian style throughout. Spacious, well-illuminated rooms including a living room with exposed wood beams and two bay windows facing one of Venice most lively canals, allowing guests to witness the city river life just a few steps away from the dining table or armchair. A master bedroom with king-sized bed and...Read more

The building is quite impressive. We loved watching the gondolas floating by. The apartment itself is extremely spacious, the beds in the bedroom very good ( the sofa bed was unfortunately not that good) and the kitchen was small but functional. The owners is very, very friendly and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect! Away from the busy touristy areas and you have a supermarket, pastry shop and good restaurants within walking distance. Couldn't have been better. My elderly parents haven't stopped raving about it.

West Yorkshire, UKBeautiful and well-appointed apartment with minor imperfections
Left on 08/13/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We stayed here in May 2011 for a wedding anniversary. The apartment is spacious and attractive with a ceiling fresco that gives it character. It's pretty well-appointed although there were some minor glitches we found after we'd payed the rental - eg no toilet paper, no plug for the sink - which the managers couldn't be bothered to do anything about - this is annoying when it's a high-quality place. One evening it was chilly and we were faced with a high-tech heating control system with no instructions. Apart from that it's a nice quiet place with the atmosphere of a palazzo and if you stand at the windows you are overlooking a canal. Nice to hear church bells in the morning, too.

Vienna, AustriaQuiet and comfy apartment, lots of local conveniences
Left on 03/01/2011 for a stay in January 2011
From the time we were met by Francesco at the train station and throughout our stay, we felt that we could count on friendly, personal contact and assistance if and whenever we needed. Francesco offered lots of good information on the area and he or another colleague was available if we needed. The location (we had the ground floor apartment) is very convenient to vaporetto stop and ideal for walking to major sites and the rail and bus stations. Easy access to grocery store, bank, specialty shopping areas, historical sites and neighborhood environment--and 5 minute walks to several highly recommended restaurants. The apartment was a bit spare--could use more lighting for evening reads in the living room and bedrooms. Kitchen also understated and small, but everything was there that we needed for the five day stay without cooking much on site. The location was excellent. Probably nice and cool for summer, but a little low on light for our winter stay.

We were met on arrival and the owner provided useful information. The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The location could not have been better, great restaurants and bars nearby. Close to transport and shops. Only two suggestions.Instructions on how to use the washing machine and there should be an iron and ironing board in the apartment to use. We asked for one which was delivered but as it was needed we only had use of it once

We stayed at the Casa Tiepolo with our 4 children. On the positive side: spacious, well equipped kitchen, ground level which is fun in Venice, nice and quiet location with store close by. On the negative side: lack of natural light, boats honking in the morning, washing machine wasn't working, sofa bed not comfortable. We would stay there again.

To enjoy the heart and soul of Venice you have to get off the Grand Canal. This apartment is steps away from everything you need - restaurants, food markets and shops. The unit was very comfortable for 2 couples. We caught a bus at the airport and were met at the station so getting to the apartment the first time was easy!

California, USAGreat Place for Family of Four
Left on 01/28/2010 for a stay in July 2009
My family of four stayed at Casa de Pittori for five nights during July, 2009.
We called Alfonso and were met at the bridge from the train station quickly
and found the place very nice, quiet, clean and well appointed. Our apartment
was very spacious and had everything we needed. The bedrooms are very
large and are situated off the canal, so there is very little noise when sleeping.
The living/dining room fronts the canal so we enjoyed the view and sounds of
the boats and activity on the canal right outside the windows.
The location is wonderful; quiet, but central enough to walk anywhere. Campo
San Giacomo dell’Orio is a two minute walk, perfect for groceries and
restaurants. We would recommend it to anyone. -

Great location 10 min walk from San Marco or Rialto and from Piazzale Roma. The apartment we were assigned was very large and comfortable.
