Located in the historic center of Venice, with the terrace overlooking a canal, the apartment is only meters from the so-called "ponte delle paste", famous for its Vienna-style coffee shop and bakery, and minutes from the Rialto fish and vegetable market. This apartment is completely unique - full of chandeliers, paintings, sculptures and antiques. The location is extremely central whilst feeling just outside the tourist rumpus. Don't expect new cutlery, immaculate house-keeping or hotel-style showers - this is someone's home. Do however drink a spritz on the balcony, cook the fish you bought at the Rialto and dream of being a local. Felix (the manager) is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

We stayed at the Martinengo apartment over the New Year's Holiday and it was an excellent choice. We loved the eclectic, bohemian decor and all of the artwork and books to look at. It was beautiful but still comfortable and homey. It was also great that it was in a fantastic area but the street the apartment is on is quiet and the building is super quiet too. The location can't be beaten and you can walk pretty much everywhere. We were at the Rialto Market for fresh produce and fish every other day as it was so close. There's a lovely pastry shop on the corner with the best coffee and we loved the fresh, organic food at annika on the other corner. Felix, the manager, was super helpful in giving us tips on where to go and was very patient with all of our booking questions. He was fantastic and also introduced us to Venetian rowing which was the highlight of our trip! We recommend staying here to anyone who wants to be in a lovely apartment in a great location.

The apartment was really charming and perfect for us. It was very spacious with a large kitchen and a small terrace we could sit out on. The decor is antique venetian with a lot of art which we love. Though this meant the bathroom tiles were also a bit dated.

I stayed at the Martinengo apartment with my wife during the Easter holidays. We had a very pleasant holiday and everything in the flat was confortable - very large rooms, elegant furnishing and decor. The walls are full of paintings and there are many sculpures too. For the true art lovers, there is also an easel ready for use, and my wife painted some watercolous of venetian views. At our arrival, we couldn't believe the flat was so big: there are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two huge living rooms, one small but lovely reading room (maybe my favourite corner), a large and colourful kitchen with all we needed, and a terrace with wonderful view on a small canal with a romantic bridge. We had supper in the terrace though it was fairly early in the year, I imagine in spring and summer will be truly lovely. We look forward to stay in Martinengo again.
