Description from the manager
An incomparable property for its location and view: situated few meters from San Marco Square, this luxurious ground floor apartment offers a spectacular view of the Salute Church and the Island of San Giorgio. The best way to gain access to this dream home is directly from the Grand Canal, coming by water taxi with only 20 minutes ride through the lagoon from the Venice Airport.
The entrance hall witnesses the noble past of this palace, but you will be even more thrilled by the wooden terrace on the Grand Canal which is an absolute privilege, especially in this part of the city. Imagine having a coffee watching the gondolas passing by...Read more

TokyoOpen the curtains and...wow!
Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in August 2012
To arrive at your front door by water taxi direct from the airport is a great way to start a break at Dogaressa.
To open the curtains on your first morning is just unbelievable; gondoliers preparing their boats for a day's work against the backdrop of the Santa Maria della Salute- the church so close that you can almost reach out and touch it.
To landward as well the location is wonderful, seconds from a main shopping street and minutes from San Marco, yet quiet and hidden away.
The apartment is spacious although don't expect too many mod-cons.
Would I recommend this property to lovers of Venice? Absolutely! -

Manchester, United KingdomThe most beautiful apartment and view of Venice ever!
Left on 08/13/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The views from this apartment are truly breathtaking! It is positioned on the Grand Canal directly opposite the Salute Church. We are a family of 5, ( 3 teenage children), and none of us got tired of sitting on the beautiful little patio, jutting out over the canal, to watch the gondolas etc, pass by. We arrived at the apartment by a private water taxi from the airport, which was arranged by "Trulyvenice" for us. I have to say, it was the most wonderful way to arrive in Venice, taken right down the Grand Canal, under the Rialto Bridge, and dropped off right outside the apartment at its own private landing jetty. The apartment is huge! With 4 bedrooms and bathrooms and plenty of space to chill out in, after a hard days sightseeing! The location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk to St Mark's Square and lots of beautiful shops on your doorstep. The WiFi was brilliant in the apartment, which was a bonus for our children!! The apartment was located inbetween the Gritti Palace and the Westin Regina, both 5 star hotels, but I hate to think what you would have to pay in these for the same space and views! The kitchen was large and well stocked with appliances. We had a lovely time in Venice, made all the better by this beautiful apartment. Tip:- If you are visiting St Mark's Basilica, go online and book a timed ticket, it will stop you having to queue for about an hour in the heat!! It does cost 1 euro per person to do this, but its the best 5 euros I spent!! Also it meant I booked the visit for 11.30am, when the mosaics in the Basilca are lit. This only happens for an hour every day from 11.30-12.30! They are truly spectacular!

Raleigh, NCBest view in Venice!
Left on 07/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012
If you can stay at this apartment I recommend it because there are very few apartments in all of Venice with this amazing location and interior. It is half of the first floor of a large Palazzo with its own entrance on the main canal. It is next to the Regina hotel and has a view that is unmatched and positively amazing. We were three adults, two teenagers and a young couple. The place is huge with a breath taking marble entrance and private water taxi entrance, terrace with cushions on the canal, and a lovely courtyard. As others have written, two bedrooms with double beds are lovely, and two are smaller and quirky, so it is best for families rather than four couples. One bedroom with two twins with bath is off a central bedroom but it does have its own door that opens to the courtyard. The living room, central hall and one bedroom have canal views of passing gondolas. The apartment has a very large kitchen and dining room. The huge windows, shutters and wrought iron gates all work fine but since they are so large and older- they may require a bit more strength than you at first think you should use to open. The bath by the kitchen has a broken door lock and we all took turns locking ourselves in this room so beware. The refrigerator needs a good defrost. The WiFi worked great, the air conditioner in the living room worked well but didn't quite get to the bedroom facing the canal if you had the bedroom door closed but we had no problems because it was not hot yet in June. A few mosquitoes may slip in and annoy you so we kept the windows shut at night. Checking in and out were efficient, staff helped us arrange a private boat tour and arrangements for the private water taxi from the airport were easily arranged via their web site online. I doubt there is a hotel at any cost that has a better view and location. It was the highlight of our stay in Venice!

LondonWhat a wonderful location
Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We were a group of 8 friends who had been looking for somewhere larger than usual in Venice. Another couple of friends also came for a few days and stayed in an apartment nearby. Before we booked the big issue was that it was obvious that the 4 bedrooms are of very different sizes and standards. So we agreed on different contributions to the overall cost: Grand Canal room 37%, big interior bedroom 27%, kitchen bedroom 21% and courtyard room 15%. In retrospect, as we all shared the common areas, I'd probably pitch it at more like 34/26/23/17%. Having a water gate for the building made airport transfers by water taxi very attractive, especially with 5 of us travelling together. Truly Venice were very helpful over arranging taxis, letting us in and augmenting the kitchen glasses etc (I don't think it had been let to 4 adult couples before).
The apartment is huge, almost enough to keep you fit. The finish is not so perfect that you feel you have to take your shoes off as you come in and having books around, eg wonderful Roiter photo books, is a good touch. The bedrooms are all fine except that the courtyard one is small with two single beds and you have to be a bit careful about locking up behind you at night or going out. The wifi works well and the kitchen was up to cooking great meals for 10. We sometimes ate in the courtyard, sometimes in the huge dining room. The living room is comfortable too but the star attraction is undoubtedly the wooden seating area projecting out into the Grand Canal looking across at Salute. Most of us had vaporetto passes so going off for supplies to the Rialto market or to supermarkets was no great bother. Overall a very special week. -

EnglandWonderful experience in Venice
Left on 01/24/2012 for a stay in January 2012
Wounderful experience in Venice staying at the fantastic Dogaressa appartment a few minutes walk to St Mark's Square. Arrival and checking-in as easy as it can get - the water taxi dropped us off at the steps of the Palazzo on the Grand Canal. Stunning views of many famous sites right from your very own terrace - a great place for a coffee (January visit) and we're sure a great place to share a bottle of wine in the Summer. Venice was equally enjoyed by our two children (aged 12 and 10). We would recommend the Doges Palace Secret Itinary Tour, but look to book in advance during busy times. Allow yourself time to wander the charming streets and, although expensive, our gondola ride is a memory that we will never forget.

The photos on the website do not do this wonderful apartment justice.
It is beautifully appointed, full of history, enormous and in a fabulous location.
I will cherish the balmy evenings on the balcony watching the water traffic and the gondoliers packing up their boats.
Expensive but worth every cent..The staff of Truly Venice went out of their way to assist us with all our issues. -

You swoosh up to Dogaressa in a water taxi driven by adorable David, and the miracle unfolds! The apartment is bliss, our welcoming Letitia could not have been more helpful. She found us a heavenly maid Maria and she patiently answered all our questions and filled our map with helpful locations, markets, restaurants and travel suggestions..Beds were all beautifully made up and the location is breath taking.Imagine opening your windows onto a South facing little cushion filled terrace, with one of Venice's most beautiful churches, St Maria della Salute, right opposite, and sleeping with the sound of the waters of The Grand Canal lapping on the gondoliers outside!Just incredible. Great travel company and great holiday for all our family. Cannot recommend more highly.

SeattleWonderful view of the Santa Maria della Salute
Left on 09/23/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The Dogaressa has a wonderful view of the Santa Maria della Salute. There are 4 bedrooms in this apartment - 3 with king beds, 1 with a double/twin. The two bedrooms in the main part of the apartment are good quality and the ensuite bathrooms are updated and modern. The 3rd bedroom in the back of the apartment is behind the kitchen and the quality of the bedroom is significantly lower than the first two. The bathroom is separate, next to this bedroom and it is modern and very nice. The washer/dryer is located in this bathroom. The 4th bedroom is very small and has an ensuite bathroom as well. However the 4th bedroom can be access via one of the bedrooms in the front of the apartment so it is suitable only for a family. The 4th bathroom is also modern and quite nice. The apartment has a shared entry to the Grand Canal so guests can be dropped off at this entrance. The apartment is on the ground floor so do use the aC and try to avoid opening the windows if the weather is hot and humid - to avoid mosquitoes. The apartment managers are very good - very responsive and helpful. If there are any maintenance issues, they address them very quickly. For us, it was on the same day. This apartment is right next to the Westin Regina Europa Hotel so it was easy to find.

This property has a truly wonderful outlook over the Grand Canal and the ability to while away the time on the terrace watching the world go by made our trip. The property is very spacious - you could lose people in there! It was good for the children and for granny too (as easy access direct from the Grand Canal). The staff at Truly Venice were very helpful indeed and answered all of our queries without delay. There is one bedroom overlooking the canal, the others are a bit gloomy and in need of updating. The guest room at the rear - was ok for our young children but at this price, other guests would be very disappointed. The difference in room quality was not an issue for our family group, but I suspect could cause problems for a group of friends using this property.
