Sydney, AustraliaCould not have picked a more perfect apartment
Left on 08/12/2012 for a stay in August 2011
I stayed at this apartment in august 2011 with my mother and my 18month old baby. My mother grew up a street away so we wanted to stay close to there. Even if that had not been the case, this was a wonderful apartment and area of venice to stay in. Peaceful, traditional but close enough to everything as well. The private courtyard was a bonus. Irene could not have been more helpful & even arranged a portable baby cot for my son.. I would stay here again over a hotel anyday!

Sydney, AustraliaComfortable, clean apartment in nice residential area
Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We were very pleased with this apartment and recommend it. We stayed for a month so our needs were different than if we stayed for just a few days. We appreciated the relative peace of the Giardini area compared to the rest of Venice. Nearby were bakeries, fresh seafood shops, good butcher and everything else we needed to be able to cook. Also nearby were bars, cafes and many restaurants for the many times we didn't want to cook. The fact that the area is less touristy than other parts of Venice was a great thing! Irene, the landlady, could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She helped us with everything we needed without being intrusive. The apartment is a 2 minute walk from the waterfront and from ferries to take you to any where in Venice you wish to go. You can walk to St Marks Square and the Rialto from the apartment, but it is a substantial walk, maybe 20 minutes and 30 minutes.

The flat is nice and comfortable in a quiet and authentic neighborhood close to the giardini. Only 1 minute walk from the vaporetto stop, 10 min walk to the Bridge of Sighs. Park and playground nearby. Very nice and helpful landlady.

Irene was very helpful and the location of the apartment was within walking distance of the main areas. You can also catch the vaporetto's not far from the apartment. It was really nice to be able to get out of the hustle and bustle at the end of the day, there are so many tourists in Venice.

McLean, VAWhat a wonderful way to visit Venice!!
Left on 11/13/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Doing research on places to stay in Venice was intimidating. We were planning to spend a week, and definitely wanted to be on the island. We enjoy the 'touristy' areas in Italian cities up to a point, but when we go home for the evening we have two objectives: to be someplace quiet, and to not hear English spoken. In Venice, staying in a hotel is going to be expensive, and risky. And looking at the vast inventory of apartments was overwhelming. The result was that we truly felt we hit the jackpot by picking this apartment -- for so many reasons.
First, the neighborhood is Italian, Venetian. I have posted a picture of the street looking outside the entrance to the apartment. It was authentic, not a word of English heard, and almost romantic in a way. The location was just perfect: quiet, but not even a three minute walk to the Venice 'metro' -- the vaporetto stop. While Venice is a wonderfully 'walkable' city, after a late dinner and a bottle of wine, it was nice to relax and ride the boat home. But the location was more than quiet, authentic, and close to a boat stop. We were in a real Venetian neighborhood -- upper Via Garibaldi is just amazing: wonderful restaurants, a grocery store and pharmacy, pastry shops, fresh pasta shop, meat/ham/cheese stores, fish vendors, but even more was the almost unbelievable array of produce vendors with a huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. We ventured out in the morning to shop for things to make a wonderful lunch, and even a gourmet dinner one evening. If you were in a small town in Tuscany or the Piedmont hou would not have it any better.
But this should be a review also about the apartment. We are now mystified by why anyone would ever consider staying in a hotel in Italy with such variety available in rental units for the same price or better. We had a luxurious space, a wonderfully outfitted kitchen, spacious bath, ample bedroom. The Wifi worked perfectly. Everything looked like it had been recently renovated .. it was just a darling place. But the peace and quiet of this neighborhood, out of the tourist bustle, was so charming we really hated to leave.
And, finally, the rental manager -- it is difficult to say enough about how wonderful she was. She answered countless emails with our questions before we arrived. Of course she met us at the vaporetto stop, and was a wonderful source of information about the nieghborhood. She was wonderfully accommodating to our schedule ... it would be almost impossible to imagine getting better service.
So, our strong recommendation -- forget about a hotel ... pick an apartment. Pick an authentic neighborhood so you will really feel you were in Italy, and not in "Venice Disneyland." which it a bit away from St. Marks ... it's a short walk or shorter boat ride. Pick a manager who will stop at nothing to make your visit wonderful. We really loved this place. -

We were 4 and we staid for 3 nights. We had a very harmful welcome from Ms. Irene Conte. She was waiting late evening to accommodate us.
The apartment was exactly as on the pictures on internet, well furnished and clean. I can recommend it to couples or families with one , two even three children.
Irene, thanks once again for the extraordinary service,

Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in May 2011
We were travelling with 2 couples & 2 young children & this apartment has everything we need.
It is situated near the palatable Giardini Publicci & the surrounding was nice & quiet in typical Venetian fashion. An ideal place to retire after a full day's run-about in the more touristy areas of Venice.
The owner, Irene was really attentive & helpful. She ensured we know how to get around Venice & recommended how we can make the best of our time in Venice, given we were on a tight schedule.
Cheers!!

Left on 06/20/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This lovely apartment and its owner offered my family a wonderful introduction to Venice. Everything was as it should be including instructions from the owner on how to get from the train station by vaporetto to the apartment and where to find shops. Also, the owner gave us a warm welcome, was attentive, punctual, and genuinely concerned that we be comfortable. The apartment is newly remodelled and has clean, fresh interior colors. It was cozy during a brief spring snowfall and well ventilated as the weather warmed up. Splendid!
