A comfortable, bright, and modern apartment in the Cannaregio district

This modern second-floor apartment (50 m²) with no elevator access gets lots of natural light. Access to the apartment is via a private entrance on the street where a staircase leads directly to the spacious living room (21 m² - northwest facing) that overlooks Lista di Spagna. The living room contains two sofa-beds (110 cm each), a bookcase, chairs, a round table, a stereo, and a television. The bedroom (11.2 m² - northeast facing) overlooks a narrow lane and has a canopy bed (2 mattresses x 80 cm), two bedside tables, an armchair, and a large wardrobe. There is a narrow kitchen (4.8 m²) between the living room and the... hallway. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern conveniences (gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator) and has lots of cupboard space. The bathroom (5.8 m²) is quite large and is fitted with a shower with body massage jets, a sink, a bidet, a toilet, and a washing machine. With its bridges, grandiose churches, and the Grand Canal, the neighbourhood surrounding the city’s train station represents Venice perfectly. The historic Jewish Ghetto and its magnificent synagogues are only 5 minutes away on foot. Today it is a typical working-class neighbourhood with narrow streets, wells, and bridges between the massive Campo del Ghetto Nuovo that overflows with outdoor cafés and terraces, and the Cannaregio Canal itself where you can catch a vaporetto. Between the train station and the ghetto, the Savorgnan public gardens are a veritable haven of peace—and one of the few spots in Venice where you can take a break surrounded by greenery! Strada Nova—the throughway that divides Cannaregio and the Rialto district—is home to the San Leonardo market that is bustling from morning to night. The peaceful streets of Santa Croce lie on the other side of Ponte degli Scalzi (the bridge that crosses the Grand Canal).

  Although I was a little apprehensive about the directions, they were perfect and the apartment was modern and very comfortable with all the conveniences. Close to the train and bus station and to the water buses, lovely restaurants close by, quiet area for sleeping , i would certainly recommend this apartment!
