      A perfect relaxing holiday

      We received a lovely warm welcome on arrival at Gills Cliff and were pleasantly surprised at the amount of space in the lovely apartment. There were lots of nice little touches that Marie left for us that made it extra special ( I won't give away what they are as it would ruin the surprise) and we could not fault the accommodation, we loved the patio area and enjoyed the beautiful views out to sea. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and would be back next year if we didn't have. Baby on the way.

      A very lovely place to stay, I loved all of the little extra touches that made our stay even more comfortable. The view is amazing, and the rooms clean, with a very comfortable bed! The guest book had lots of useful information about the local area, and Marie and Ian were very helpful and kind throughout our stay. We would love to come and stay again and have already recommended them to all of our family and friends.

      I had a wonderful stay at Gills Cliff, the accommodation is fantastic, Marié and Ian have thought of everything! spotlessly clean, toiletries, towels, bath robes etc. Super comfy bed! large TV, sky, DVD. The veranda at the front is lovely to sit in when the sun is shining. There is adequate cooking facilities, BBQ I couldn't fault this real gem of a place to stay, Ian and Marié were so welcoming...thank you :-))

      Beautiful apartment and location

      We spent 4 days in Ventnor in March and had a lovely time. we were greeted with a warm reception from Marie and then left to settle in, where we found some very kind added extras which made our stay extra special!
      The apartment was imaculate, cosy and has everything you could need, a very comfortable bed, sky plus and all the necessary kitchen requirements. It is very well set out and decorated.
      The location is excellent, we walked into Ventnor a couple of times, although the steep trek back may not be favoured by some! The chip shop opposite the apartment sells the best fish and chips I have ever tasted!
      The best thing is the view from the terrace (and your bed!!)
      We really loved our stay and would highly recommend 102 Gills Cliff for a luxury, relaxed, peaceful break! Thank you

      We loved the attention to detail and all the little extras that made this apartment so comfortable. The deck area is amazing and perfect for eating out or just relaxing. Very helpful owner for whom nothing was too much trouble. Situation high above Ventnor means there are great views. It's also quiet and peaceful. High quality fittings including a king size bed - a real home from home.

      Perfect accommodation - Beautiful & Clean!!

      102 Gills Cliff was a great find - Beautifully decorated with an up-lifting atmosphere. The rooms are clean, light & airy. Each room has a lovely view of the sea. Marie was welcoming and gave us plenty of privacy during our stay; provided extra touches to make us feel welcome. I would highly recommend this accommodation, its perfect in everyway!
      Bedroom- The most comfortable bed,very soft bedding, and large window -delightful view of the sea. This was also the 'Living space' with a television (DVD player and sky box) and two very comfortable seats, although it's all together it's very spacious. Adjoin is a 'dressing area' with a full length mirror, set of draws and wardrobe. Two dressing gowns and slippers were also provided, and two fluffy throws! The apartment was full of little touches that made our visit even more special. There was a hair dryer,iron/ironing board, although the iron requires an adapter. This room again was very specious and light.

      Kitchen- Plenty of utilities available, along with a toaster, kettle, fridge (Inc. a small freezer section), hob, (which is intended for light cooking, although we didn't have any problems), a microwave and a sandwichmaker. Has a table for two. Again very clean and had a lovely view of the sea.
      Bathroom -Again this room was lovely and very clean, (bright white tiles). The giant bath towels were lovely.
      Decking area- sadly due to the weather we couldn't enjoy this area as much as we would have liked too. Very spacious with great seating area's and BBQ; overlooking delightful views of the sea.

      The location was excellent for views, although it's a steep walk down to Ventnor town and a steep walk backup, although it takes no time at all if you take the route up/down the steps. There is also local taxi's. Rex's Piano bar is a must!!This has great food and a lovely atmosphere.
      If you're thinking to or have already booked this accommodation you will not be let down, it truly is a wonderful place to stay!

      Relaxing accommodation with sea views

      Very friendly and accommodating owners. The apartment was spacious, extremely clean, light and airey, with lovely views of the sea from the patio area. We liked everything about it apart from the two low doorways. We would go again, and recommend it.

      Ian and Marie were so welcoming and their super relaxed approach was just what we needed. Wonderful view from on high and the accommodation is nicely set out (although maybe a proper cooker would be nice). Just wish they could control the weather too. Best tip is to stroll down to the amazing botanical gardens 10 mins away then walk through them to the wonderful Steephill Cove.

      The tastefully & comfortably converted lower floor of a house with a view of the English Channel which was great. Plently of space for 2 but probably fine for 2 + 1.

      I loved the views over the sea, the privacy and the absolute cleanliness of the apartment. There were many details to make me feel like royalty: a stocked tea tray, guide books, videos, welcoming bed with top class bedding, super luxurious bathroom! - comforting and caring touches from unobtrusive and hospitable hosts who respect my privacy. I loved it and will go back again and again having discovered this little best kept secret of the island.

      Undiscovered gem!

      You'd better book quickly if you want to stay in Marie and Ian's self-catering apartment because it's one of those places that's becoming very popular by word of mouth!
      To start with: although advertised as a studio, it's actually very spacious with a large bedroom, separate from the eating area and kitchen, and with a most amazing sunny deck from where you can see all the way to France on a clear day.
      The decor and appointments are top class and Marie really does go the extra mile for their guests - you'll find a complimentary bottle of wine or juice and tea and coffee and milk on arrival, wonderful soaps and shampoos in the bathroom, large fluffy towels, top grade bedlinen, amazingly comfortable mattress, satellite TV, DVD player, all required kitchen appliances etc.
      It's situated within walking distance of the centre this Victorian seaside town, and with the added benefit of off-street parking which is quite rare in the narrow streets of Ventnor!
      You have an entrance separate from the main house, with the adjacent deck area which is very private and quiet, and great for barbecues, al fresco eating, sun tanning, meditating, writing that novel you've always wanted, etc.
      If you plan to visit the Isle of Wight, I highly recommend 102 Gills Cliff as a base to explore the island. Marie and Ian are gracious hosts and can advise you as to the attractions you may be interested in.
      Do book - you won't be disappointed!
