Villa San Remigio was built at the end of 1800 to crown the romantic love between the Marquis Silvio della Valle di Casanova, poet and musician, and Sophie Browne, painter, who wanted to build here "the garden of dreams".
The waterfront portion of the park with the old private chapel overlooking the lake, recently transformed into a modern house of great charm and originality, is available for rent DIRECTLY FROM THE OWNER.

Villa San Remigio is situated in the most beautiful location on Lake Maggiore, the Castagnola promontory in Verbania-Pallanza, just north of the Borromeo Islands, where the view encompasses the entire lake from north to south.
The house is surrounded by the parks of San Remigio and Villa Taranto, probably the most beautiful botanical garden in Italy.
A cycling/walking path passes by the house and runs along the lake until the charming village center of Pallanza at less then 2 km. At 100m, in front of Villa Taranto, there is a ferry station taking you anywhere on the lake from the Borromeo Islands, Stresa, the monastery of Santa Caterina del Sasso, the Angera castle, all the way to Switzerland.
We recommend trekking in the National Park of Valgrande, the largest wilderness area in Italy, but also an outdoor museum of the ancient civilization of the Alps.

We had a fabulous holiday in this villa - which is a unique property in a fantastic lakeside location! The grounds, the main bedroom, the views are all spectacular. Other bedrooms are small, and the kitchen is more suited to those who plan to dine out - but the welcome was warm, hospitable and friendly, with flowers and fruit, wine and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner and staff. The great location allowed us to use the bikes and canoes that were provided and we enjoyed walks and day trips as suggested.

Villa San Remigio ist gleichbedeutend mit einem Ort der absoluten Ruhe und Entspannung , gepaart mit Luxus und sehr freundlichem hilfsbereiten Personal.
Die Lage und die aussicht über den See und die Berge und nicht zuletzt der äußerst gepflegte Park lassen nichts zu wünschen übrig!Man wird umfangen von Ruhe , Großzügigkeit und Luxus
Wir waren vergangenes Jahr mehrmals dort um unvergessene Tage zu genießen und wurden immer sehr herzlich mit frischenBlumen und einem riesigen Obst Korb begrüßt. Der Kühlschrank war immer gut gefüllt mit allem was man braucht fürs Frühstück und ausserdem Wein und Champagner. Ein ungewöhnlicher aber sehr angenehmer Service für eine Ferien Villa.
Das Haus ist aufs feinste ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht ( angefangen von Küche. geschirr. Handtücher. Bademäntel. Bettwäsche.
Die Villa ist total neu liebevoll und sehr luxuriös renoviert. Die Zimmer liegen alle weit über dem Durchschnitt was die ausstattung anbelangt, und man muss sich einfach Wohlfühlen. Die Sauberkeit lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig.
Sehr genossen haben wir auch die finnische idyllische Sauna und das jacuzzi im Garten mit aussicht über den See.
Außerdem befindet sich ein Barbecue auf der anlage mit bester ausstattung und auch Hilfe durch den Gärtner.
Die nächste Stadt Intra mit italienischem Flair und schönen Geschäften ist zu Fuss zu erreichen. Und genau gegenüber befindet sich der große Blumen Park "Villa Taranto"
Alles in allem ein non plus Ultra von dem man nur Schwärmen kann. Da ist sich die ganze Familie einig von alt bis Jung ! -

We went to Villa San Remigio with a group of cyclists (from Holland). Our stay was simply perfect! Beautiful setting, good service and a perfect host. Friendly and flexible. We enjoyed the garden, sauna and hot tub very much. Nice area for cycling.

Perfect and elegant service; the house is unique for the postion directly on the lake, vith a huge garden and flowers and ...peace, silence.
Just near are the boats to make tours of the lake.
For me was a new experience because this is a special house and you can see it from photos
