The Gate House Cottage sleeps up to four guests and is a our premier self-contained home from home. The King bedroom with walk in wardrobe leads out to the hall way to the utility room with washer/dryer and past the bathroom with bath/shower into the open plan living area. My husband and i were surprised by a wonderful group of friends who booked us three nights at the Castle on the Mountain for our 25th anniversary. We stayed in the Gate House Cottage. It was an amazing private cabin with a hot tub and fire pit on a lovely patio in the backyard. The view of Vernon at night was fantastic. The inside was very modern and beautifully decorated. Usually when we are on vacation the first thing I do when we get there is to take the top blankets off the bed and hide them in the closet for fear of what could be on them. It was so nice and clean and well kept that for the first time ever this didn't even cross my mind. Liz, bless her soul even irons the sheets. The area is so nice and quiet. For us it was the perfect location for a romantic holiday. We loved it so much that we actually stayed another day. I am not sure if the best part of our time there was our cabin or the owners... Ray and Liz are two of the nicest people we have ever met. Talking to them was like hanging out with great friends or family. On our second day Ray asked us if there was anything we needed in the cabin that wasn't there. We mentioned that the only thing we could imagine that they didn't have was pizza pans. They had everyting you could ever need. Well, much to our surprise when we came home the next day there were two pizza pans waiting.These are two people who take great pride in their B&B; and it shows in everything they do. Ray even got us a great deal on golf! If you have any inclination to visit this area you must stay at The Castle on the Mountain. I guarantee you won't regret it. As we were leaving we told Ray and Liz that they should change the name to The Cabins in the Heavens because that's what it felt like... a little piece of heaven here on Earth. Ray and Liz, we are counting down the days until we can come and see you again. Thanks once more time for a lovely time!!!

This was my second visit to the "Castle" and once again i found the hosts Ray and Liz very helpful and made me feel very welcome.The views of the surrounding area are breathtaking and this alone made it worthwhile staying there. The breakfast that Ray serves up in the morning sets you up for the day and it truly is excellent. If you are thinking of visiting Vernon or silver star then you just have to visit the "Castle" and sample hospitality at its highest. I will be returning to the "Castle" for many years to come as its simply the best place to stay.

Spent a fanastic month at the castle. First time in Canada but certainly not our last.
We took advantage of the breakfast cooked by our hosts on several occasions and ate like Kings!
Our Chalet was very comfortable and luxurious.
The views are stunning and the hot tub a treat at the end of the day. And after the clean mountain air we slept very soundly indeed.
I loved watching the Humming birds and the Chipmonks that came to us regulary through out our stay.
Downtown Vernon and the people we met there were delightful.
We have booked for next year and cant wait to return to the warm greeting I know we will receive from our Hosts.
