Canberra, AustraliaWonderful apartment
Left on 10/15/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We spent 9 days at La Mansarda in Verona in September 2012. The apartment is spacious, well equipped, beautifully furnished and the views from each room are magnificent. It is located within easy walking distance to the centre of Verona and a short bus or taxi ride from the station. Caterina, the manager, and her family were most welcoming and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Since it is on the top floor one does need to be reasonably fit as there is no lift. We were very sad to leave and would love to return one day.

This is one of those places you hope you will find when travelling. Brilliant location, friendly helpful owner (Caterina) and has a special atmosphere. The view from the large windows of the river and city will stay with me. The only downside, if you're a bit older, or unfit and have heavy bags, is that its at the top of the building and some very steep narrow stairs. That said, I would love to stay here again, and for a lot longer!

We loved staying at La Mansarda. The owners were very helpful carrying our bags up to the flat (the one drawback is that it's on the top floor). They had left us lots of goodies to eat on our arrival and the breakfasts were lovely - lots of variety. The views from the apartment are lovely - looking across the river, and is located only a short walk from all the main attractions of Verona. The apartment was very well equipped, even a computer with free internet too. Would definitely recomment La Mansarda to all.

La Mansarda was the final icing on the cake having spent the previous 2 weeks touring Germany. We arrived by car on a gloriously hot Sunday afternoon and were warmly greeted by Caterina's family. We were introduced to the beautiful apartment, which is ideally situated for very easy access by foot to the historic (and modern) city centre as well as for getting further afield by public transport.
Caterina and her family were excellent hosts, nothing was too much trouble and it was so nice to have a fabulous breakfast delivered to the front door every morning. The apartment was very comfortable and had spectacular views over the city. If you get the chance I would highly recommend going to the opera in Verona, we had a most memorable evening. -

I stayed at La Mansarda for 2 nights with 3 other adults. The place is great:
Incredible views.
Very central to all the main attractions, but still away from the crowds.
Warm and friendly (that describes the apartment and Caterina, the hostess).
Lots of old world charm with more than enough space for 4 or 5 adults.
An espresso machine (with loads of cartridges and bottles of spring water) and decent wifi.
We didn't eat in except for breakfast so I can't comment on the cooking equipment, but what I did notice looked fine.
One word of warning: make sure your suite cases are not too heavy or the steps necessary to achieve that great view could be a bit daunting.

Comfortable top floor apartment with views along the river and across the city. Very well located for walking into the city centre with services nearby including a supermarket just across the bridge and a great pizzeria on the ground floor. Lots of sights to see in Verona and plenty of interesting nearby towns.
Very helpful and friendly owners who live downstairs, speak great English and can assist with any questions. Breakfast basket provided every day with fresh bread, milk, cereals etc which is very convenient.
Day trips to Lake Garda, Brescia, Vicenza, Mantova, Padova and Venice are all possible by public transport. Rail tickets can be booked in advance online to save time at the station. Frequent city buses every 5mins from outside the Church of San Fermo about 4 mins walk along the river from the apartment run to the train and bus station from where the bus service to Verona airport leaves every 20mins. -

First off: The View. Absoultely breath taking. The apartment Manager was one of a kind. Extremely helpful, friendly and spoke good english. I broke my foot in Rome 2 days prior to my arrival. Caterina (Apartment Manager) took such great care of me and my family. She helped me find a doctor and a place to rent a wheel chair. She seemed genuinely concerned about me. The daily breakfast was impeccable. Huge variety. The apartment had all the modern conveniences that I have in my home. It was stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, q-tips, laundry detergent, etc. Her restaurant suggestions were great. In fact, my favorite place of all was the Pizza place next door. I miss it already. Thanks Caterina for a wonderful stay and for allowing us to stay in your beautiful apartment. We were on a 4 week vacation. Madrid, Barcelona, Rome and Verona. This apartment by far was the best out of all 4 places. I highly recommend this place. :)

I stayed at La Mansarda for a week last March with some friends. The place looks amazing in the pictures but it's even more impressive in person. The building is charming and has a delicious pizzeria and wine bar below. Its location is perfect and its views of Verona are nothing less than exceptional. The owners are extremely accommodating and pleasant, they even met us on the street in Verona when we had trouble finding it, not that it's hard to find. Every morning they brought breakfast and the place came with all the essentials in the kitchen, even some welcoming booze! I could not have asked for a better place to stay, and the price is great for what is offered. I will without a doubt stay here again on my next trip to Verona!

We stayed at here based on reviews we had read from earlier visitors to la mansarda. We were not disappointed. caterina is the best host one could hope to have - warm, welcoming and generous. The appartment is spacious and sleeps 5 people easily. The views are fabulous from all large picture windows. The appartment is situated very, very close to central Verona and walking distance to all sights. Caterina provides a substantial breakfast and always ready to assist with any questions. The cooking facilites are adequate if one wants to preare their own meals.

We enjoyed this apartment in Verona. We found the apartment to be within a few minutes walk from the city center and very well located. Although there is no elevator, Caterina was more than happy to help us bring up our suitcases. The view is spectacular, the apartment really spacious and cosy at the same time. Caterina was s very gracious host.

We arrived one hour earlier than suposed but called Caterina and she was kind to let us leave our baggage in the house.

La Mansarda was a great find. It is a beautiful apartment ideally situated for a visit to Verona with easy access by foot to the centre as well as for getting a bus to the station if you want to travel further afield.
Caterina was a wonderful host, nothing was too much trouble for her and it was so nice to have a fabulous breakfast delivered to the door every morning. We could put our order in the night before ie yoghurt cereal fruit and bread and it was there the next morning. The flat was very comfortable and had lovely views over the city. I would not hesitate to recommend it. -

The apartment at La Mansarda was perfect for our family -- my husband and me, our 12 year old grandson and his Mom. It was spacious and modern and the views were terrific. Caterina made us feel very welcome and was there when we needed her to get the beautiful Italian coffeemaker to work! We were very pleased with our short, but pleasant, stay in Verona. The beds were comfortable and the one bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was really good, too!

La Manzarda is located very good for walking through the old town of Verona. The view is extraordinary good and Caterina, who runs the b&b; makes you feel like home. She was very friendly and helped us in any case. We got everything for breakfast, what we requested, the rooms are perfect for family with children and teenager. There is a pizzeria very nearby with fine food. So, just perfect!

Left on 01/17/2011 for a stay in December 2010
I traveled throughout Italy with my two teenage daughters during December 2010 and we chose Verona to be our final destination and also where we wanted to spend Christmas. I found La Mansarda through Tripadvisor and selected it because of the promised views and spaciousness of the apartment. Of course I read about the hospitality, breakfast included, proximity to the centre of the town, room price etc etc and it ticked all the boxes and secretly hoped that it would be the highlight of our trip!!! I was however unprepared for the warmth and graciousness of our host Caterina and inclusions of the apartment. My daughters and I were speechless when Caterina showed us through the top floor apartment which was elegantly and thoughtfully decorated for the Christmas holidays. She orientated us to the apartments coffee machine/with coffee pods, fridge with cold drinks, computer/wi-fi, providing us with breakfast options list, and recommendations for possible tours. As soon as she left we let out squeals of delight and excitement at the thought of staying in such a lovely apartment and commenting on how fortunate we were to be staying as Caterina's guests for the next 6 nights.
What else can I say but we loved our stay in Verona and have such wonderful memories of our Christmas together which was enhanced by the magic of Caterina and La Mansarda, absolutely the highlight of our trip. -

Chicago, ILThe best of the best in Verona!
Left on 12/31/2010 for a stay in December 2010
This was the best part of our trip! We spent a week in Italy and a week in Ireland - this was the closest we felt like being "at home" during that time. Our host (Caterina) was incredible - she was always available via email (often times within the first hour I had sent the message) and she was very informative regarding things to see and do close to the apartment.
What made our experience even greater: I proposed to my girlfriend! The spot was perfect! I knew the moment I saw the listing on FlipKey.com.
Caterina was more than willing to help with some small pre-planning requests, and in the end it made for a story the two of us will remember for the rest of our lives.
This was a very enchanting and romantic destination - highly recommended to anyone looking to spend some time in Verona.
We will! -

Nice, FranceSpacious, great location & great views
Left on 12/13/2010 for a stay in December 2010
Just spent a lovely 3 days in verona. The appartment is perfectly located right next to the old town centre, and being on the river has fantastic views from the huge lounge windows. It is spotlessly clean, modern and spacious (although one slight downside of the largeness of the appt. is that the kids bedroom is the opposite end to the parents bedroom which our 3 year old son didn't like too much - so we ended up using the sofa bed instead which was just fine!). It is also up about 4 flights of stairs so be prepared!
Catarina was very friendly, and helpful, and our stay was perfect :)
& a final added benefit - great pizza from the restaurant next door (the 'best in verona' apparently!) -

Great location, great view, great owner.
The only two drawbacks were the draught in the kitchen (although this one becomes a virtue in the summer) and the unpredictability of the kitchen stove (which we soon learned to deal with anyway).

This is a prime and spectacular location. Check-in was personable, friendly; they were more than willing to work with my late arrival due to travel problems.
I found the attic apartment elegant and welcoming. Great attention to detail in style and comfort. Quiet. Restful. Restorative. The view was extraordinary of the river adige and old Verona. I was footsteps away from the center of town and everything worthy of a visit. Should I have needed assistance - which I didn't - there was no question that Teresa would have met them.
I would recommend this location to anyone. It holds its own against five star hotels!
