Carson, CaliorniaGreat location and helpful renters

My husband and I stayed at this rental and found it to be convenient to trains, buses, area shopping, and a comfortable walk to the Palace of Versailles. This is not an urban area so it is very quite by about 10 pm. There is a large outdoor farmers market in a nearby square three days a week. The apartment, while not modern, was clean and tidy with the kitchen nicely equipped for making your own meals - which we did most of the time. I can't say enough about the renters. Everything was handled very professionally. Right from the start the experience was timely and friendly. We received detailed directions which made finding the location a breeze. Family members who lived across the hall were always polite and helpful during our stay. I highly recommend this rental.

We were initially sceptical about booking directly with the owners, but we could not have been more wrong. The apartment was situated in the heart of the town, only a few hundred metres from the direct rail link to central Paris, and easy to find, so long as you have the map the correct way up! Secure car parking was in the basement and the owner's parents were waiting for us on our arrival, keen to help and make sure we had a pleasant stay. There was an excellent bakery up the road and so fresh bread for breakfast and a local supermarket in the other direction for coffee to go with the croissants. The apartment was well furnished with good size rooms, clean and an extra bed was available to accommodate all three of us. A short walk away was an outdoor market, and then beyond that you come to the entrance to the Chateau. The queues were as long as we had been warned about, and it didn't help that after one hour in one we found that to go to the gardens and Trianon you get the tickets at the gates. However the gardens were spectacular and on our return the next day we missed out the queues totally by booking up a guided trip for a couple of euros extra. With this, not only did you go to parts not normally on view but after ninety minutes you were then free to carry on with the rest of the tour without going back to the queue. As the chateau was shut one day we drove a few kilometres to Ruell-Malmaison via a pleasant back road and visited the chateau of Joesephine, stopping off at the shopping centre at Parly2.
Each evening we found a local restaurant in Versailles to walk to, and would recommend Chez Lazare on Rue Sartoy.
It was a relaxing, evocative few days, with blue skies and autumnal colours, just as France should be at this time of year. -

Do you really like to be treated as part of a family and be near major highlights in Versailles and Paris? This is the place to be. From a couple of cider bottles as a welcome to an always smilling and friendly attitude of Mr. and Mrs. Tran, the owners of the comfortable department, I would definitively choose this place for my next stay in Versailles.

Last year, I traveled to France twice. Each time I stay at 57 Rue Marechal Foch for 3 to 4 weeks. The experience is very positive. The apartment is very clean. It has free Wi-fi internet. The place is close to supermarket where I can easily obtain food and daily necessities. The landlord' relative lives on the same level and was always ready to help. Actually we became friends. I probably will go back to Versailles some time in the near future and certainly will stay in the same apartment.
