A typical "viareggina", a two-levels house in the centre of Viareggio, right in front of the sea.
The house is spread over two floors: on the ground floor you will find a comfortable and spacious living room with a double bed sofa, a fully equipped kitchen corner (oven, dishwasher, coffeemaker, fridge and freezer, every kind of tableware and kitchen utilities), a small laundry room (washing machine, flatiron and ironing board) and a bathroom. This was a very convenient & comfortable location, 2 mins from the beach and about a ten - fifteen min walk from the train. Suitable for families, couples etc. All mod cons provided & very friendly & helpful owners. The beach is less than a two min walk but be warned to all you non-italian travelers there are beach clubs the full length of the beach which involves you renting chairs/beds/umbrellas for the day. There is about a ten meter gap by the water front that is free to sit on!! Plenty of life guards though.
There are several very nice restaurants within walking distance and a very nice patisserie down near the market. Great facilities to eat at home, the supermarket is about a 5 min walk, broad selection of food although not the cheapest but the wine is very reasonably priced.
Viarragio is a very convenient location, easily accessed by train from Pisa/Florence. Explore by foot/bike, please research the area prior to arriving because it's difficult to get info when your there, tourist office was closed when we were travelling. It is a beautiful location with nice beaches surrounded by a mountain back drop .
