This waterfront penthouse is located in the heart of downtown Victoria in the Mermaid building. On the waterfront of the harbour and the edge of the Gorge waterway, the Mermaid Building allows its guests to experience downtown Victoria, the Inner Harbour, the Gorge Waterway, the ocean, the upper part of the island and Vancouver, with ease.

Some of Victoria’s most popular restaurants surround the building, making it easy to have gourmet meals with out the worry of taxis or drinking and driving.

Within 100 meters, the Dayliner train starts its 300 Kilometre journey up the island every morning and returns the same day, stoppin...g at many towns on the way. Take a Whale watching tour right outside the door. Or rent a kayak and glide through the harbour to the open ocean to discover the Pacific’s wild life. Or paddle up the Gorge waterway and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Salmon Fish with a charter or rent a power boat and just take it easy touring Victoria from the water’s perspective. If you have your own boat, there is moorage also right outside the door.

Just steps away, the harbour sea planes take passengers in a half hour flight to downtown Vancouver, offering great shopping on Robson street, Theatres, Stanley Park and more, and all in a day allowing one to return home for dinner.

The Mermaid neighbours Historic China Town with its many vegetable stores, restaurants and curio shops.

Romantic horse drawn carriages carry passengers through the inner harbour past the parliament buildings, the world famous Royal BC Museum, live entertainment, Underwater Sea Gardens, Omnimax Theatre, Miniature World, Double Decker sight seeing tours, and tour buses to the renowned Butchart Gardens.

Cycle, stroll, run, or even ride a horse on the picturesque Galloping Goose Trail. This multi-use trail, formerly a railway line, moves right beside the Mermaid Building, through urban, rural and wilderness scenery on its 55-kilometre journey from Victoria to Sooke. Whether you're commuting to work, meandering on a weekend afternoon or pacing yourself from Sidney to Sooke, the trail is yours to enjoy.

Catch the little Harbour Ferry stopping at the Mermaid and travel right up the Gorge waterway to Tillicum and down to the Empress.

The Suite sleeps four. There is a hide-a-bed queen and a queen bed. Nothing has been spared in furnishing this space. It is fully equipped with a 27 inch flat screen TV, stereo, DVD player, high speed internet and modem, microwave, dishwasher, stove, fridge, blender, toaster, coffee maker, washing machine and dryer.   What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get. A beautiful apartment with great views, and an amazing roof top deck. The washer/dryer was so nice to have along with a fully stocked kitchen. Parking was easy and our car was safe. We walked to most places since they were so close.
  There is a nice restaurant right across the street and several great shops for men and women close by. Very quiet, no city noise which was appreciated. A fan was also provided which I need for white noise to sleep.
  
  We flew into Seattle, rented a car and took the car ferry over. The ferry is very close to the appartment. We would recommend this rental.

  We were so fortunate to find this compact, professionally decorated space for the two of us in such a perfect location. The views of the inner harbour and downtown Victoria from both the great room and the private roof top terrace were spectacular. We continually took advantage of the proximity to attractions, shopping, walking trails, restaurants and various modes of transportation. We will most definitely return.

  Great location, very romantic suite

  We found this top floor condo after 6 years searching all across North America looking for the perfect winter get away from snow. We were so impressed by this romantic and very bright penthouse apartment and the great views of city and inner harbor with all the activity. This was the best and our favorite place we stayed in Victoria. It is ideally located for restaurants, shopping and all the tourist attractions. The halibut tacos at the Canoe across the street are amazing
