Calgary, AlbertaOasis in the city
Left on 03/15/2012 for a stay in February 2012
My husband and I just spent a month at this lovely property. It is a perfectly appointed suite with everything you need from a well equipped kitchen, laundry room, and a wonderful gas fireplace to warm you on cool days. The attention to detail in the design of the property were evident and added to the warmth of this unit. The location was perfect with Beacon Hill Park directly across the street, Cook Street Village a mere few blocks away, and the ocean and Dallas Road promenade a few minutes stroll past the Village. Downtown, markets, shops and entertainment were all within walking distance allowing us to park the car and explore within easy range of the suite. Nancy made the booking and check-in seamless and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely an oasis in the heart of Victoria.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was wonderful. This holiday was one of our most relaxing and at the same time adventurous with so many great things to do within walking distance.

What an awesome place this is! We had fabulous sleeps on comfortable beds in a quiet neighborhood that allowed for the window to be left open. I am very sensitive to noise at night so I really appreciated being able to do that. We had glorious walks through Beacon Hill Park and along the nearby beach. There are a number of delightful coffee shops along Cook Street where we could sit and enjoy our coffee outside in January. There were four of us staying in the suite and there was plenty of room for everyone.Everything you could possibly need is here or within walking distance to thoroughly enjoy your holiday. We loved it and will definitely be back.

Calgary, ABEverything we'd hoped for and more
Left on 03/18/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This suite exceeded our expectations. All the furnishings are new, and the suite itself is bright and spacious and immaculate. We felt immediately at home, and we were particularly delighted that the linen closet and the kitchen were both very well outfitted--we found everything that we needed, and more. We have rented frequently with VRBO and have learned to bring items that we like to have at hand, but here everything we needed was already in place. The owner thoughtfully had the garden planted just before we arrived so that we could enjoy Victoria's spring flowers in our very private garden. Nancy welcomed us and gave us all kinds of useful information about the suite and nearby amenities. She even made a special return trip to give us information about an event that we expressed interest in--Victoria's week-long Eating Around Town. And the suite is extremely well located. As the author of a Vancouver Island travel guide, I would highly recommend this suite because of its location. It is within easy walking distance of the Inner Harbour and all the downtown activities, but just far enough away--about 5 or 6 blocks--to give visitors a real sense of Victoria life in one of its most attractive neighbourhoods. It is right across the street from Victoria's flagship Beacon Hill Park, a few blocks north of the long and beautiful oceanside walk along Dallas Road, and two blocks from the city's insider secret, Cook Street Village, where visitors will find every service they need from a Zagat-rated pizzaria to to the best neighbourhood video store we've ever found. We will definitely be back again.

WinnipegGreat location
Left on 03/11/2011 for a stay in February 2011
The Garden Suite is a very pleasant, spacious and well appointed two bedroom suite. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The main area is open and welcoming. Step outside the door and enter a small, charming garden that was ready to burst into bloom in mid February.
The suite is part of a heritage home situated on Beacon Hill Park. Where else can one see peacocks just by walking across the road? Continue through the park and you arrive at the sea shore. Incredible!
The Garden Suite is just a few minutes away from Cook Street where one can shop, dine and stop off for coffee at one of several always bustling coffee shops.
It was also easy to stay home as the space made it easy to host friends and family. I would return in a minute!
