Milwaukee, WisconsinA truly magical family vacation!
Left on 04/29/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We had an amazing time staying at Wild Slope Farm in March. The cottage house and grounds definitely live up to the pictures and previous reviews -- beautiful wood floors, a cozy wood stove, a huge deck with great views, well stocked for cooking meals, comfy beds, etc. We came with our 2 year old son and Brie stocked the house with a high chair, pack-and-play, and a 3-wheel stroller for hikes -- all of which made our vacation that much easier. We really enjoyed taking both local and more distant day trips and found a bunch of lovely parks and beaches within a very short drive. Our son had an absolute blast playing in tidal pools and throwing rocks in the water. Our afternoons were frequently spent hanging out at Wild Slope, feeding the chickens and pigs, and enjoying the freedom and fresh air of not being in the suburbs! Corey and Brie are amazing, friendly hosts -- open for a nice conversation, recommendations for things to do, but not at all obtrusive. Corey even let our little boy ride on the tractor with him! My husband, training for a marathon, also loved that he could literally walk across the drive-way to get on the Galloping Goose and go for 20 mile runs in either direction -- an awesome location for active families who want a relaxing vacation!

Beautiful home in a rural location just minutes from all the amenities you may require. Great for scuba divers as you are only minutes from many dive sites and the dive shop in Langford. The Galloping Goose Trail is only a stones throw from the front door, a great trail for a walk or bike ride.
Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again in the near future.

Gents, don't miss this location south of Victoria! After a friendly welcome we were stunned by a great ocean view over to the Olympic mountains and a phantastic house all for ourselves. We almost forgot to spend some time in the Capital...
(Small limitation: there are stairs up to the house, you must be able to climb about 20 steps. You'll be rewarded with a huge sun deck!!)
A great stay for some lazy luxury days and a great tour base for southern Vancouver Island!!!

San Diego, CAA wonderful time of making memories!
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in September 2012
I heard about Wildslope through a relative of the owner. I thought it sounded like the perfect place to go with my daughter and grandaughter. We are not big travlers so we were a little uneasy about taking such a big trip. Especially to another country!! We loved Cananda! Everyone was so helpful! Our hosts were the sweetest people so accommodating and kind. We felt right at ease.
The cottage is beautiful. Everything we needed was there for us. We were close enough to the city that we could do sight seeing. Castles, gardens, Victoria, shopping. And far enough away to just spend the day at Wildslope, walking, reading, sitting, talking, making memories.

Left on 08/31/2012 for a stay in August 2012
During our 4th visit in the Pacific NorthWest we stayed at 5 different locations. This review is about the Wildslope farm (Flipkey user: See tripadvisor for other reviews).
Was it great? Yes!: the Wild slope farm is our new five star benchmark cottage! Why? Read on:
The cottage: The first thing you'll notice when you enter: it is extremely clean (I walked barefoot inside, which I normally do not do in a Rental; you know why), the second thing is: the attention for details: Fresh eggs in the fridge, Sun flowers on the table, a cake et cetera... We've visited a lot of places in the north west, but this was a new and higher level experience for us.
What else is there in the cottage:
- Two bedrooms
- TV plus dvd player plus movies (for kids)
- Fully equipped kitchen (although no dishwasher; but don't worry, you'll have great views during the cleaning of pots and pans)
- comfortable beds
- wireless internet
- Outside chairs + cushions
- A deck with great views. We spent a great deal of our time sitting on the deck and enjoying the views.
- More details are on the website. I've added a couple of pictures, but I have to admit that the pictures on their website are so accurate that making pictures myself was a waste of time...
Remarks: None... or maybe the fact that it is a lot of value for your money!
Surroundings: It is beautiful with nice views, but it has also something special: Wildslope is a small farm: there are a group of pigs and chickens. It is fun to walk to them and just watch what they do. You can even feed them your left overs.
Location: It's a 40 minutes' drive from Victoria and it is very private. The only other house in the direct vicinity is the one of the owners.
Owners: We've met Brie and Cory. They are very friendly an give us tips about things you can do. They also do respect your privacy.
Conclusion: I don't exaggerate often, but this is by far the best place we stayed at in the North West!

Note: you left the cottage so clean when you checked out :) -

During our fourth visit to the Pacific North West we stayed at five different locations. This review describes our experience at the Wildslope farm. Was it great? Well, let’s put it this way: the Wild slope farm is our new five star benchmark cottage! Why? We will tell you
The cottage: The first thing you’ll notice when you enter the cottage is: it is extremely clean (I walked there barefoot a couple of times (which I normally do not do in a Rental; you know why.. ), the second thing is: the attention for details: Fresh eggs in the fridge, Sun flowers on the table a chocolate cake… We’ve visited a lot of places in the north west, but this was a new and higher level experience for us…!
What else is there in the cottage:
• Two bedrooms
• A huge TV, with a dvd player and some movies (mostly for kids)
• A fully equipped kitchen, although no dishwasher (don’t let this scare you off, you have great views during the cleaning of pots and pans :-) )
• Good beds
• A wireless internet connection
• Nice outside chairs and separate cushions
• A deck with great views! We spent a great deal of our time sitting on the deck and just watching the sea, the boats, birds, beautiful arbutus trees….
• More details are on the website. I’ve added a couple of pictures, but I have to admit that the pictures on their website are so accurate that making pictures myself was a waste of time…
Remarks:
- None… or maybe the fact that our four night stay was too short and the fact that it is a lot of value for your money!
Surroundings: It is beautiful with nice views, but it has also something special: Wildslope is a small farm: there are a group of pigs and chickens. It is fun to walk to them and just watch what they do. You can even feed them your left overs.

Conclusion: I don’t exaggerate often, but this is by far the best place we stayed at in the North West! We hope that Brie keeps up the good work and that other travellers will treat their property with care so that we can come back in their great cottage.

We stayed at Wildslope Farm Cottage for 3 nights but I wish we could have stayed 3 weeks - it was just fabulous. The cottage itself is extremely comfortable and has everything you need for cooking, dining and relaxing which was perfect for our family (as we have two young children). Brie went over and beyond as a hostess and supplied us with a high chair and some toys for the children which kept everyone happy (that was in addition to home made bread, jam and milk!). We were very happy to stay around the area of the farm as there were 3 fabulous beaches, a bike path and all sorts of activities taking place in the village. It is, however, an easy car ride into Victoria to see all the sights. I cannot express adequately how much we enjoyed our stay but I can tell you we are booking our next trip already;-)

Left on 08/05/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Our stay at Wildslope was too short! The cottage is spectacular, the views are amazing, and the owners are fantastic!
Everything was immaculate when we arrived, and the pictures just don't do the cottage justice...the owners have created a picture-perfect retreat that is ideal for relaxing.
The cottage is also right next to the galloping goose bike trail, so it is well worth bringing your bikes! A fully stocked kitchen makes for easy cooking (with an incredible view out the window), and there is a great pizza place just a few minutes away. Highly recommend the cottage for a romantic getaway!
On a side note, we stayed during the us 4th of July holiday, and were in awe of a full moon and fireworks that night, which could be seen across the water. Truly an awesome experience! -

Edmonton, AB CanadaVery Surreal - highly recommended!
Left on 07/28/2012 for a stay in July 2012
First off, I have never rented a vacation home before. Kirk, the owner of 'amazing vacation homes' was super friendly and extremely pleasant to deal with over the phone. Email responses were quick and timely and he answered any questions that I had (which was a lot!) That gave me a very good indication of how well this place was run.
Second, Brie met with me to give me the key as well as a super delicious rhubarb loaf which was unexpected and very delicious! If I had any questions, she was readily available to answer them, either at the house or by text messages. Both her and her husband, Cory, gave me the privacy I wanted. The only downfall was the wifi connection for my iPhone - Cory and Brie tried to fix it but discovered that it really works best with laptops and bigger-signal devices. Wasn't a big deal and it certainly didn't take away from the experience at all.
The 'Cottage': Pictures do not do that place justice. It is absolutely the most inspiring place I have ever been to. It's surreal in the way that of which it's located; off a main road yet you seem to forget that you are anywhere but there because it's so far up a hill - The deck is surrounded by a wonderful array of different species of trees and the wildlife is abundant. The lower deck has a hammock...it's just so relaxing and it was so wonderful to wake up and open the bi-fold deck doors. All windows open very wide to let the breezes in (the windows don't have screens but I think if they did, it would take away from the very fresh view you get without them!) and the entire house is furnished to be simple and inviting. This was exactly the place for me and I am extremely happy with it. My 2 older kids loved it! The Trail head is literally 50 feet from the front door. Brie and Cory are two of the most friendly, considerate and helpful people I've met and I thank them for their wonderful hospitality and for having a place like this for people to come and enjoy.
Thank you!!! :)

Wow! thank you Chris for taking the time to write such a lovely, honest review. I hope the wi fi will work out better for next time. We have screens for the windows - maybe we should consider putting up a few, on at least some of the windows???? So glad you were able to have a break while you were here, we find it very peaceful living here and are happy to be able to share it!
Also, thank you to all the other guests that wrote such nice reviews too, I hadn't replied individually, but do appreciate each one........Brie :) -

My family is very picky - in general.
We all loved it - the beautiful house, the location (just on the Galloping Goose trail), the view, the deck, the little thought into every single detail. Everything you need is there; In the kitchen, bathrooms, living room. And most important - extremely nice and welcoming family who are trying to make your stay as comfortable and fun as possible.
We will come back, for sure!Response from Brie S. - 07/17/2012

My family and I spent 4 truly magical days at Wildslope Farm. We woke up each morning to a view that is breath taking. The landscape is very west coast. Our children enjoyed riding their bikes, we were right beside the galloping goose trail so taking a walk or hike is very easy. We are already planning our next trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wildslope! The view from the deck was spectacular. We enjoyed the city of Victoria and then could escape to the country and feel like we were away from it all. The apartment was beautifully outfitted, comfortable, and spotless. Hosts provided homemade bread, fresh farm eggs, milk, and cookies upon our arrival. Soda, juice boxes, and wine were available in the fridge for purchase which was convenient. There was a beautiful trail behind the house which we enjoyed as well. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and have some space. Hosts struck the perfect note between pleasant interaction and privacy. We also enjoyed feeding the pigs and gathering eggs from the chickens. Hosts provided a fresh salad of greens from their garden - we wish all salads were this good! Appreciated the washer and dryer.

We had the most amazing holiday at wild slope. The view was extraordinary. The huge deck opens up to a panoramic view of the ocean, mountains and tree tops. It was relaxing and rejuvenating. We were right on the galloping goose trail which was beautiful to walk and jog on. We also rode our bikes all the way to downtown Victoria one morning (it took us a couple of hours and we took a picnic on the way). The owners were lovely and friendly and the place was immaculate and new. It felt like a modern boutique getaway in the woods. Very quaint with a garden and some farm animals. I will be going back again soon. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Wildslopes is a real rural idyll!
The accommodation is separate to the main house, so you have lots of privacy! The place is comfortable & super stylish and the location is something else. There are fabulous views from the decks, across the forests & mountains out to the sea. Iit's in an elevated position, so you feel you are up in the clouds. Very relaxing
I loved their vegetable garden, which supplies their guests with fresh organic produce. The kids can visit the pigs & collect freshly laid eggs from their chickens for breakfast or pick tomatoes etc
It's a really great family farmstay, the hosts are very relaxed & friendly & our kids will loved it. I'm planning a return trip as soon as possible
