Mejda Farmhouse (the Farmhouse of the Table) is a fully furnished genuine country house which combines rustic charm with modern comfort. This farmhouse forms part of the G & J Holiday Complex which is located on the outskirts of Victoria, just 10 minutes away from the centre and near to all amenities. There is a restaurant/pub less than 200 metres away. Down the road there is a general store and outside the parking one can find a bus stop where buses pass by very frequently. All the beaches are only 10 to 15 drive away!
Mejda Farmhouse can accommodate up to six persons very comfortably.

Victoria is the capital town of the island of Gozo. The name Victoria, locally known as Rabat, was given to the medieval town of Gozo in 1887 in honour of the famous British Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations. At the same instance, the town was also raised to the status of a city; then officially known as Citta' Victoria.
The town of Victoria embraces both the Citadel, the ancient city of the Island, as well as Rabat, the old suburb of the Citadel.
There are many places of historical and cultural interest in Victoria and a visit to the Citadel is considered a must. From these fortifications one can enjoy a superb view of the whole Island. Also within the Citadel there is the Gozo Cathedral and the Law Courts, as well as the Cathedral Museum, the Gozo Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum,theCitadel Armoury,the Folklore Museum,the Old Prison, and the Natural Science Museum.
The centre of the capital city of Gozo is Pjazza Indipendenza, known as it-Tokk. In the mornings, there is an open market that shares the square with several open air cafes. The magnificent St.George's Basilica is located in the centre of the old town, just off the open air market in Pjazza Indipendenza. The cobweb of narrow streets around St. George's Basilica are the oldest in town and are worth a walkaround.
In Triq ir-Repubblika (Republic Street), Victoria's main street, there are all kinds of shops, a couple of shopping arcades, pharmacies, banks, the Police Headquarters, the Bishop's Chancery, as well as La Stella and Leone Band Clubs who own the Astra and Aurora opera theatres respectively. In lower Republic Street, one also finds Villa Rundle Public Gardens which were laid out by the British in 1910. These gardens, with a variety of local and imported trees and a fountain, are an oasis of peace in the hustle and bustle of the busy town.
Close to the crossroads is Victoria's main parking area and the Bus Terminus.
During February Gozo Carnival is held in Victoria. On the 3rd week of July there is the feast of St George and on 15 th August the feast of St Mary.

We stayed in Doriannes farmhouse late august 2012 for 12 nights. Two families, 6 teens and 4 parents. Dorianne could not have been more helpful from the initial booking process right through to departure. If you want a quiet break Gozo is for you! I would say a car would be a must so that you can visit all the beaches, sightsee etc but before you book in UK ask Dorianne to get a price for you from Franky who will also organise airport pick up from Malta to Gozo and then have your car delivered to the Farmhouse. Everywhere really is only 10 mins drive but I guess it would be a 40 min trek walking to any beach. Having Victoria on the doorstep was wonderful & we recommend locally La Stanza, It Tokk and Patricks Lounge Restaurants (you can walk to these from the Farmhouse) Highly recommend taking a boat trip around Gozo, (ask Franky to organise/get a cost for you or easy to do yourself from the Harbour. The sea and coast are stunning and the sea really is turquoise! Dorianne left a starter pack of bread cheese and ham & some homemade wine on arrival which was a lovely start to the holiday. The Farmhouse is basic, but was clean spacious and covered all our needs! When we wanted more salad bowls Dorianne happily supplied. The pool is wonderful. Our only recommendation to Dorianne would be to add some greenery/colour plants to soften the outside pool area along the walls as it is very stark without any greenery. The garden at the back of the house was lovely to sit out in the evenings but would benefit from having chairs and a small table with umbrella so you can use in the day & at night so you can appreciate the view which you don't get by the pool. clean, comfortable, practical, fun. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Location is ideal as it is close to the capital city of the island which is within walking distance. We have returned time and time again to this residence as it never fails to disappoint. Good value for money especially for groups and enough space for everyone to be comfortable (we are usually a group of around 10 persons). It could do with a microwave and a dishwasher though.

May 2012...The farmhouse consists of two bedrooms and and very large kitchen/sittingroom. Peace, great pool, buses pass regularly and La Stanza Bar & Restaurant 100m away...great general store across the road. Heaven

Ten minute stroll into Victoria, bus stop outside. Otherside of road is a well stocked fruit merchant open early until late selling everything from milk to beer. The farmhouse itself was well equiped with pool and all needs. Very homely cool air fans in every room, kitchen utensils, towels welcome pack. Clean, great place for a couple or family.

The farmhouse was very spacious, clean and had every thing you needed for a relaxing stay.
The pool area was fantastic,very private, the kids loved it and spent most of the day swimming.
The location is very good just a 10 minute walk,if that into the centre of Victoria.
Dorianne, the owner of the farmhouses made us very welcome and communication from the moment of booking to arriving in Gozo was second to none.
A truly relaxing hassle free holiday in great accommodation , fantastic service and great location. -

My husband and two children (13 and 7) stayed at the Mejda Farmhouse at the end of august 2011. The accomodatiation was great - the photos do not do it justice - it is huge and very comfortable. All very clean and well equipped. The pool was also large and clean. The location is great - a 10 min walk or a 2 min drive into town. Dorianne Sultana, the owner, was most accommodating and very helpful. We had a fantastic, relaxing holiday. Thanks!!!
