We enjoyed Vieqeus very much and the house was perfect for our needs. The pool and beach were ideal and we loved eating dinner outside on the patio. The roosters were definitely noisy but that's just island life. I would definitely recommend.
Beautiful views, spacious but can use some work

I echo what one of the previous reviewer said. The house is nice and spacious - great light and a great breeze throughout the house.
Our biggest issue with this house was the chicken coop that is right next door (probably 10-15 feet away from one bedroom window). The rooster starts around 4am and the chickens follow and they are loud. Our fellow travelers heard them in every room. So if you like your sleep, this probably isn't the best place. For this much money, we would have expected something better.
The bathrooms are in desperate need of updating - they are straight from the 60s. We tried to give the kids a bath in the tub but there is no drain plug (there is also no drain plug on one of the sinks, so don't drop anything!).
There is also no wine opener, so this didn't get remedied even after the last reviewer wrote about it.
The beach is just down a staircase. It's a bit rocky, but great for finding shells and sea glass. It's also very secluded so we had the entire beach to ourselves almost every day.
The owners clearly invested in some things in the house - a big TV, sound dock for ipod, great security system. And the bedroom furniture was quite nice.
The service we got from Bravos Boyz was quite good (with one major exception below). They were there to meet us at the airport and were very prompt with their communications before and during our stay. However, if you are traveling with kids, Bravo Boyz says on their site they have Babysitting. They do not. I called and they said they do not know anyone - no one in their office has kids so they had no idea. Thankfully we found someone but this was just flat out false advertising.
Four Couples Traveling
Lovely View - Tired property

The view is the best thing about this property. Location is a bit off the beaten path, but the island is so small, not a problem.
It was good to have a washer and dryer on site and we used it several times. Furniture in living room was newly covered in white denim.
Each bedroom had its own sink in it,an excellent idea when sharing two bathrooms.
If more attention to detail is paid and about $5k put into it, it has the potential to be a superior rental property.
The condo was not as updated as we would have hoped. There were 8 of us there for four nights. Some things were missing and some things should have been repaired. However, if no one that stayed there ever told the Bravos Boyz they would not have realized this. For example the jalousie windows in the master bedroom leaked and when it rained the clothes under the windows on top of the suitcases and on the furniture got wet.
The kitchen sink/dishwasher drain leaked all over the kitchen floor. We needed to be extra careful not to slip and fall. When we called the manager, she came over immediately and also brought extra towels with her so we could keep it dry. Then she sent a plumber and he determined that it would be best if he repaired it when no one was in the rental unit as it required dismantling the cabinet under the sink. So we kept the towels on it.
There was no cork screw in the kitchen. There was no hair dryer in the unit. Not enough toilet paper was left for 4 couples for 4 days. The hot water would run out before we all had showers.
The porch furniture had very old gray covers and they were pretty gross in some areas.
The main bathroom has a rusted center drain and tile work in the shower was not good. No flashlights in the bedrooms as indicated in the handbook, only one working bulb in the outside floodlights. Beach chairs that are provided should have been replaced a long time ago. Half were broken and could not be used.
Very good security system and security cameras.
The perfect house for our group's vacation- gorgeous view!

Our trip to Vieques was absolutely wonderful. The Sands was more than we had hoped for based on what we had seen on the internet- the view was just amazing. We were a group of 6 twenty-somethings and found the house to be very cozy and beachy. The island is small, so we were a short drive away from everything we wanted to do. The Bravo Boys were so accommodating- from picking us up at the ferry to advising us to take the short flight back to the main island. We had some difficulties with the alarm system, but a locksmith was quickly sent to fix it. The pool was a perfect spot to come back to after venturing out to various beaches during the day. The only complaint I could offer is that the doors did not provide much privacy or block any noise. They even provided grills, so we picked up fresh fish at the docks and grilled one evening. The Sands was perfect for us, and definitely one of the nicer houses we saw on the island. I would recommend it to families and young couples- anyone looking for peace and quiet (besides the roosters!) and an amazing view. Read more
