Description from the manager
The Pool Cottage at the Palm Cottages, on the North Shore of Vieques Island in the beach side nieghborhood of Bravos de Boston, is one of the rental cottages at the residential compound which was formerly a church, its rectory, and several small out buildings. Located in the heart of the lovely Vieques Garden District, the cottages are surrounded by exceptional tropical gardens designed and maintained by the well-known Bravos Boyz, whose offices are also located in the old church building. The well known La Chata beach is a one minute stroll down the road and a Bravos Boyz favorite for a quick morning swim, searching for sea glass or watching...Read more

Howell, MichiganCharming and Private Oasis
Left on 05/14/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We rented both cottages for our friends and father in law and couldn't have been happier. The air conditioned Pool Cottage was perfect for cooling off, in and out of the pool, after our daily island sightseeing trips. Although both cottages are well equipped for preparing meals, we used the Palm Cottage for most of our meal cooking, with the wonderful cross breezes that kept the Palm Cottage cool and airy. Loved the location on the island as it is in a nice garden district. The BravosBoyz staff were so helpful and took the time to show us around a bit on our way from the airport.

This rental was exactly what we'd hoped for. The Bravos Boys and staff were so warm and hospitable. They picked us up when we arrived, and they checked on us during our stay. We spent a lot of time in the pool and outdoor areas. We loved having the kitchen and the grill so that we could cook some meals at home and make coffee in the morning. We also enjoyed having Oscar the dog visit and hang out with us. (This is optional - we are animal lovers.) It is nice being adjacent to the offices, because we could pop in and ask questions or tell them if there was an issue. (The ice/water dispenser on the fridge stopped working, and they dealt with it promptly.) The wi-fi was handy, too. After a day at the beach, the rental felt like our own little retreat, a cool sanctuary.

Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in January 2013
My stay at the pool cottage was incredible! To start, The Bravos Boyz were extremely friendly an welcoming. They made me feel very comfortable, and were very helpful in answering any questions I had. They also knew all of the best places around the island. The grounds around the pool cottage Were gorgeous and filled with lush plants and flowers. I really enjoyed the pool with the soothing sounds of the waterfalls. The cottage was extremely clean, and very charming. Everything you could possibly need for a long stay was at your fingertips. With two bathrooms and two bedrooms, the cottage is rather spacious and wisely set up. The bed was very comfortable and luxurious with very nice linens. I can say the same about the plush towels. This place is truly an oasis in paradise, but has all of the modern consciences that we have become accustom to. Overall, this place was an incredible experience and is on par with The W resort (where I have also stayed). I honestly could not ask for anything more. It was perfect!

Anything we wanted the Boyz would help with. Fantastic service. We love the easy convenience of the pool house. Safe neighborhood, can walk to town. Pool fountains provided white noise one night when locals partied. Easy to get to, safe. The best? the pool, the warmth, the plants, visits from Don Oscar, privacy.
Please don't let anyone know how beautiful it is . . . -

This cottage is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in. I wish my own home looked and felt the exact same way. I love the concrete floors and sinks, they are awesome. The pool is perfectly blue without the smell of chlorine. Of course the people are amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better experience and the main part of that was this cottage.

Everything was perfect in every way for my family. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Palm Cottage. The pool was outstanding and the bedrooms were cool and beautiful. The decor was beautiful and functional at the same time. We loved the concrete floors and outdoor showers. It was a very short walk to a great beach for shelling and sea glass. We will certainly be back someday.

My parnter and I stayed in the pool cottage and it was great. We were fortunate enough that there was no one staying in the cottage across from us so it was nice and quiet. We had everything we needed and the guys were really accomodating with helping us out when needed. The pool is great and there is a fountain that is great for ambiance. I think if there was a family staying across from us it may have put a bit of a damper on our vacation but there are so many beautiful beaches to explore during the day regardless. Many roosterd roaming about so hope you are not a light sleeper!

Our stay at The Pool Cottage was sublime. The atmosphere created by The Bravos Boyz in this little oasis defines restful. The amenities are top notch, combining comfort and luxury. The perfect retreat for a tranquil week spent reading, listening to music and floating in the pool. The gardens are a lush feast for the senses. The location is convenient for venturing out to gather food or explore the many beautiful beaches of Vieques. The kitchen is well equipped, we enjoyed cooking most of our meals and dining poolside. It would be marvelous to rent both the Pool and Palm cottages with friends or family. The setting is very private. Truly lovely !

Upon our arrival, Alberto was very helpful with picking up our rental car, recommending restaurants, stores, and showing us around Isabel Segundo II. We lucked out since it was slow season. We had the whole place to our selves. Kids were in the pool all of the time. The outdoor living area and dining table were perfect. We felt secure being right behind the Bravos Boyz office. The cottage is a five minute drive from town. There is a beach a short walk from the cottage, but the best beaches are worth the drive to the south end of the island.

Vieques and the Pool Cottage were fantastic! Our vacation experience was a thousand times better than staying at an overpriced resort. Every detail of cottage was so well thought out - it reminded me of something out of an architecture or design magazine (I wish I could hire the Bravos Boyz to design my home!).
The location was also great - close to town, and only a block from the beach. As for Vieques, I feel like I found a perfect quiet paradise. It was laid back, relaxing, lots of unspoiled beaches explore - all to yourself, and such nice people. My only hope is that it doesn't become overrun by resorts and overdevelopment once the word gets out. Vieques is perfect just the way it is. -

We stayed over Memorial Day weekend for a family friend's wedding, and found the Pool Cottage to be very much worth the stay. It felt like we were much more immersed in the culture of Vieques, rather than if we had been staying at a touristy hotel. We were surprisingly the only ones staying at the property over the weekend so it was nice and peaceful, and we had the pool all to ourselves. The house had plenty of amenities, including a nice kitchen which we unfortunately didn't get a chance to use. We especially liked how the floors were concrete so it was easy to come and go from the pool without ruining any carpets. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend renting a property from Bravos Boyz instead of staying in a hotel in Vieques.

We were extreemly happy with our stay at the Pool Cottage. Everything was as perfect as it can get when it comes to a vacation rental. The cottage had every comfort of home, including vacation pets. The attention to detail was what made the Pool Cottage so wonderful. Beautiful surroundings, great location, wonderful staff, as close to paradise as it comes. Thank you so much for a very memorable summer vacation.

Everything was super - elegant accommodations with plenty of basics (copious hot water, flat screen tv with plenty of channels, great swimming pool, air-conditioning). This was just a lovely, lovely, experience and clearly preferable to the W Hotel which is overpriced and underserviced. One note: mosquitos are a problem. So ask owners to make sure screens fully attached around doors and bring mosquito repellant.

My husband and I traveled with our two teenagers to Vieques PR this March. Our stay at the Pool Cottage was perfect. The house and grounds were as beautiful as they were depicted in the photos, if not more so. The salamanders, chickens, and roaming horses added just a splash more flavor to our stay. The management company made sure that we had everything that we needed and we can't wait to return.

This was the best place that my wife and I have ever stayed. We had an amazing vacation and it was the perfect place to get away from work and spend time together. The house, pool and atmosphere were a tropical paradise, and it was so nice to have the Bravoz Boys close by as they were more than welcoming and more than helpful in helping us have an amazing stay in Vieqes. We would and will come back in a heartbeat. We sat outside until very late most nights cooking on the grill and sitting at the amazing table in front of the pool and enjoying the cool breezes. The inside of the house was so comfortable, and well decorated, we felt at home almost immediately. We recommend to the fullest this property, or any from the Bravoz Boys.

I would stay at any of the Bravos Boyz locations but the Pool Cottage has tons of contemporary island charm, quiet atmosphere and everything you could possibly need to make your stay on Vieques the best. My teenagers were very happy, they swam, read, listened to music, played checkers, and chilled by the pool. We were 20 minutes from the best beaches ever and close to the market. No matter where you stay on Vieques, you have to drive to enjoy everything so reserve your car early. Thank you to Thom,Alberto, Christina ( I didn't meet everyone) and also a special hug for Oscar.

Palm Cottage had everything we could have imagined. It allowed a group of three familes to share space, while also having separate places for privacy. The set-up was ideal for cooking and hanging out, very kid-friendly (Although would be great for just adults too!). The pool was perfect and the service was unparalleled. We appreciated all the little touches - outdoor shower, towels provided, even a grater for making fresh coconut shavings! Easy access to all of our island day-trip destinations.

As the folks told us as we were arriving and they were leaving, "You're gonna love this place!" And we did, this is as close to perfection in the Caribbean as you can get. Just look at the pictures, Oh My!
Palm Cottages are really two cottages within a walled compound, facing each other across a custom built pool with a beautiful water feature at one end. Palm Cottage was the first unit to be restored. The compound was originally a church, office, and rectory. We stayed in Pool Cottage which was restored a couple of years ago by the owners as a place to live while they built a home for themselves.
This is tropical chic with all the amenities. The cottage oozes charm and comfort. Nothing has been overlooked. Two bedrooms with AC, cotton linens, private baths with fluffy white towels. One bath has an outdoor shower, both use concrete custom cast with sea glass for the vanities. Trendy lighting with accents lights and dimmers in every room. Satellite TV, free phone for local and US calls.
The kitchen is fully stocked with high end equipment, stainless side by side refrigerator with all the ice you need in the door. Full size stove and dishwasher, and again, cast concrete for counters and sink. Very classy.
But it's the outside that is to die for. Pool Cottage has a fully covered veranda running the length of the building. Fully furnished with an outdoor living room and jazzy concrete dining table to seat six. Sofas and chairs upholstered, end and coffee table, even lamps and a sideboard! All this sits immediately by the pool! Fabulous.
The owners are Real Estate Brokers, managers, and landscapers. It shows-Palm Cottages are named for the numerous varieties of palm on the property. From the wall of fan palms on one end of the pool to the 60 foot palms towering over the other, the property is lushly landscaped. With the gated and walled enclosure this compound is extremely private and quiet.
It is not overlooking the ocean, but you can hear the waves -

Our stay at the Palm Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. The house was contemporary, yet comfortable and had everything we needed. Whether it was wine glasses, baby spoons, or a beach umbrella, the Palm Cottage had it all. The pool and outdoor living area were incredible. There was a table for having dinner outside and then a seating area to play cards and have some drinks. When the kids were napping, we could lounge in the pool or in a chair. The gorgeous beaches were close by and Thom was very friendly and accommodating. I loved having access to a washing machine too!! We couldn't have asked for more!!
