Starlight Cottage is an Iconic beach cottage rental set in the heart of the Vieques Garden District in the beachside neighborhood of Bravos de Boston. Located on almost half an acre, Starlight Cottage is part of the Bravos Beach Cottages compound consisting of two structures, containing three units, a pool and tropical gardens. Starlight Cottage is positioned like a tree house with birds eye views of the Atlantic, Culebra, and Puerto Rico and is a well-known Vieques Island rental.

Bravos Boyz provided a greeter on touchdown, who was informative and accommodating. Starlight was as advertised, only more so. Clean, spacious, comfortable, and every thing was in working order with the exception of a few problems with the upstairs shower which we discussed with Frank and Cheryl and which was explained to our satisfaction.
The beaches were fantastic. Unspoiled, mile upon mile of soft sand and gentle surf with palm trees lining the shore for shade.
Bring your sun screen, and pack light-a couple of pair of shorts and tops and a swim suit will do with the much needed pair of ear plugs unless you enjoy the anvil chorus from the dogs and the roosters.
Walk to town along scenic shore road, at the end of which you will find the best bloody mary and breakfast at Mama Songa's. Take a drive along route 200 and turn left at 201, drive a couple of miles for the best dinner on island at Next Course. For the best pina colada, be sure to stop at the roadside stand across from the entrance to Sun Beach. It is only open on weekends, but boy, is it good!
And be prepared to leave heel marks on the tarmac as they haul you aboard your flight home.Response from Bravos Boyz - 03/22/2013

My two daughters and I spent 5 lovely nights at Starlight. My younger daughter chose that particular cottage because of the decorating and it was nice. The cottage and compound were just as described online and we enjoyed the stay very much. Amenities included plenty of beach towels and very comfortable beach chairs for those staying in the compound. The pool area was also lovely. The washer/dryer were great to have and we utilized only carry on luggage after the owner recommended that and washing what we brought. Saved a chunk of change being able to do that.
The management agent met us at the airport and took us to pick up our rental car. She led us to the house (thank heavens for that as the one drawback to the island is the lack of a really accurate map.) She recommended some good restaurants, sights to see, and services we could use.
The location of the house required a car to reach dining, etc, but it was also very nice. A block away was a lovely little beach where I encountered three of the paso fino horses who roam freely around the island. Nice to take a beach walk every morning. And the view from the 2nd floor patio of the ocean was wonderful, as well as the constant sea breeze.
We enjoyed the entire stay and had no problems worth mentioning. We loved the island and hope to return again next year. There were lovely beaches, snorkeling, horse-back riding, and the amazing bio-luminescent bay we canoed one night. -

CAGUAS, PRVieques- Small Paradise found!

Unbelievable small island, nature in the caribbean at its best! Nothing like ST Thomas or the British Virgins. The family had a great time. This property has a marvelous location, everything in Vieques is fairly close, but you definitely need a car to get around (no significant public transportation) The beaches are great, but if you need to get in the pool in the evening or at night while getting the barbie ready with some local fish and lobster, then this is the place for you. Only complaint was a little leak in the bathroom, but the owners assured me they were looking into this. Overall, marvelous place to stay, and if you have a big group you can rent the adjacent properties which share the pool.

A Bravos Boyz staff member met us at the airport just as we stepped off the plane and drove us to the Squash House. Several times during our stay we had questions (once when the Internet went down during a storm) and each time Bravos Boyz provided answers and help right away. We were at the Squash House during a quiet time and no one was renting the other house, so we had the pool to ourselves the whole time. Nevertheless, we thought it would be fun for an extended family (possibly ours) to rent both houses and enjoy the space together. We were impressed that the pool service quietly arrived and cleaned the chlorine-free pool about every other day while we were there, very necessary after rain storms when the leaves blew around. The house was tastefully furnished and clean and the bed had a comfortable mattress and soft cotton sheets. There were bars of oatmeal soap in the bathroom plenty of bath and beach towels. The washer and dryer and all the appliances worked well. The only down side to the house was noise from a barking dog across the street, but we had the air conditioner on and really didn't notice it much. One thing you have to get used to on Vieques is lots of noisy dogs and roosters, and we were prepared for that, having visited two years earlier. We were also warned about theft, so were very careful to keep all the doors' deadbolts locked and the car inside the padlocked gate at all times. We have rented a lot of houses in various countries and sometimes they don't live up to the photographs, but the Squash House was even better than the photos. We slept like rocks and had a wonderful time. I would definitely go back to Bravos Boyz for our next visit to Vieques. They are a class act.
