Milwaukee, WIIncredible experience

Banana Patch is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing get away. Logistically, it is walking distance from downtown and a beach, and a short drive to the National Parks with countless white sand beaches. With three bedrooms, it has plenty of room for a large family or multiple families. My son and I went with a friend and his daughter. We had plenty of room. There is a washer/dryer, so we were able to travel with only carry on luggage. The kitchen has everything we needed to make meals. While air conditioning is available, the cross ventilation is perfect, so we did not find it necessary.
I fully intend on going back some day to relax. I absolutely loved my stay there!!Response from Bravos Boyz - 04/16/2013

Egg Harbor, WIBeautiful property at a great value!
Left on 03/13/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our group of 5 stayed at the Banana Patch during the first week of February and had a great time. The house was conveniently located on the island, not too far from anything we wanted to see or do. The pick up at the airport and transportation to our rental car and then the house was great. The folks that picked us up provided great information about the area to those who hadn't been to Vieques before. The amenities in the house were top-notch as well. After the first night everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were and we all noticed the high thread count bath and beach towels. There was a cooler, beach umbrella, two chairs, and plenty of toys to make beach going even more enjoyable. Our group is already excited to return to the Banana Patch or any other property managed by Bravos Boyz again next year!

lexington, maGreat renovation, very clean, great amenities

Location makes the breeze less prevalent than other places. Mosquitoes were an issue so make sure to bring repellent. However, the rental price reflects this shortcoming.
The house had snorkeling gear which was a nice gesture. Everything worked and the decoration was nice. Overall, a great rental. -

Vienna, VACute, comfortable beach cottage
Left on 11/28/2012 for a stay in November 2012
My husband and I just spent a glorious week at Banana Patch. We have been to Vieques a couple of times before and stayed at Bravos Boyz properties, so we had high expectations -- even though Banana Patch is one of their least expensive rentals. It did not disappoint! Alberto and Betty picked us up at the airport, took us to the car rental place, and made sure we were well-oriented and felt welcome.
The location is perfect, steps to La Chata Beach (which we have come to regard as "morning coffee and evening wine beach" - and Banana Patch supplies plastic reusable coffee cups and wine glasses for just that purpose). Isabel is an easy walk. It was convenient to be across the street from the Bravos Boyz office and we popped in for directions and recommendations a couple of times. They do know everything about the island!
The decor is unpretentious beach cottage casual, with some interesting Caribbean art and craft pieces. The outdoor living and dining area is equipped with three fans and romantic lighting options, and we spent a lot of time enjoying the jungle views and sounds. We did not cook anything but simple meals, but the kitchen is well-equipped for those inclined to do something more elaborate.
There are plenty of books and Dvds for rainy days, two tvs, and a docking station for music. The beach toys are terrific, with snorkeling gear, an umbrella, beach chairs, a cooler, and even a couple of headlamps for nighttime exploring. We appreciated the comfort of the beds, which featured high-end linens and memory foam toppers and pillows...and fluffy, fluffy bath and beach towels.
As Vieques fans, we can say that Banana Patch is a real value. It had everything we were looking for at a great price. Banana Patch was a great romantic destination, but we think it would be equally appropriate for families and groups of friends. -
Daddy - Daughter
Milwaukee, WIAn awesome house on an awesome island!
Left on 11/20/2012 for a stay in November 2012
My daughter and I had our greatest daddy-daughter trip ever!
The Bravos Boyz picked us up and the Vieques airport and drove us to the rental car agency then to the Banana Patch. They gave us a quick tour of the Banana Patch and showed us where essential establishments were on a map (groceries, etc.). They also recommended sites and restaurants.
The Banana Patch (BP as my daughter called it) is located nicely between La Chata beach and Isabel; close enough to walk to the ocean or walk into town (you may want to drive if you are getting a lot of groceries).
The kitchen was properly equipped and did not limit my culinary options. There is a grill in the outdoor lounge/dining area so I grilled out three times (btw, the fish market is within walking distance...mmm, grilled sea bass).
All the rooms and the outdoor area had ceiling fans and we often had the front and back doors open for ample ventilation...we never used the aC even though it reached the 90s a couple of days.
The convenience of the laundry facilities allowed us to pack only our backpacks...saved us money on the check bags fee and the hassle of luggage mania...yeah.
The grounds were beautiful. It was nice to sit on the back deck with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and watch the palms swaying and all the awesome animals (chickens, horses, lizards, land crabs, etc.). We loved the way it made us feel...very much a part of the island!
There is ample parking for two vehicles...we only had one. However, you could easily park on the street if you had more than two.
Vieques is a fantastic vacation spot. We enjoyed great restaurants, pristine beaches, snorkeling, hiking, and horseback riding. But most importantly, we enjoyed the small town feel of the island...no chains, no golf courses, etc. It was just amazing.
