What a wonderful time! The home was absolutely beautiful. Excellent view, good sized, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of bathrooms, beautiful outdoor and indoor dining areas... This place has it all! The island itself is absolutely stunning, and will capture your imagination. You'll find yourself itching to come back again and again. Super private, deserted beaches, excellent food, plenty of sunshine, the list goes on!! Thanks very much to the owners for making this an unforgettable vacation, in the most gorgeous place I've ever been.

MontrealThird trip to fabulous Cacimar House
Left on 02/15/2012 for a stay in February 2012
I just got back from my third - and possibly mostly enjoyable yet - visit to Cacimar House. I have nothing but great things to say about the house and its great location high on the hill with stunning views of the surrounding area. There is nothing like relaxing in the pool after a fabulous day at the beach. We enjoyed cooking on the BBQ and savoured sitting on the terrace watching the sun go down.
I don't understand how anyone could have anything but great things to say about the house. It is well appointed and very comfortable. The place is a wonderful escape and a relaxing oasis.
I have no hesitation to highly recommend Cacimar House to anyone who visits Vieques. You will love it!

Lewisburg, PAJust what we hoped for...

My family stayed at Cacimar house for one week. Myself, my wife, my 7 year old daughter, and my parents shared the house for a week. Charles, the owner, gave us great advice with regard to traveling to Vieques and what to expect once there. The caretakers, Paul and Ricci, were also available and very helpful. Both the house and Vieques itself were as advertised. I was concerned after reading a recent prior review, but our experience was thankfully the exact opposite. We all look forward to returning next year!

Danville PALow key and relaxing setting enjoyed by three generations!

Just returned from a week at Cacimar House. Friendly and picuresque setting where our biggest problem was choosing a beach to explore each day!! The local people were welcoming and seemed pleased to have us practice our Spanish while there. The plane ride from PR to Vieques was spectacular. Paul's informative tour upon arrival set the tone for our week. The home is well appointed and well maintained...It was so nice to relax there each evening after a day of exploration. Would also recommend the bio bay tour...a once in a life time experience. My family and I hope to return!

Do not stay here unless you like burglars trying to break into your house at night while you sleep. The house is in a bad area set far back from the main road. As a result, the house (this means "you) are a target for the local thieves trying to break in. In our case, they tried to break in at least 3 times. The manager acted surprised the first time we told him, but he was lying. The door locks were broken and the outside lights did not all work. The police were not very sympathetic. Try sleeping through that...It ruined our vacation.

We regret terribly the experience of this guest. We have welcomed more than 90 guest parties in 5 years who have vacationed in ease and comfort and enjoyed welcoming back repeat guests each year. With utmost respect to the opinions of this guest, we would encourage prospective guests to look at this review in the context of the numerous other reviews here and elsewhere.

After a day in the wild beauty of Vieques, there’s nothing like coming home to your own private villa on the top of the island. Cacimar gave us the opportunity to enjoy the excitement of exploration by day, and the pleasure of luxury by night. Poolside cocktails, sunset barbecues, and warm breezy nights on the master bedroom veranda, looking out at the ocean – this is a rare quality of comfort.
We especially loved the sense of intimacy, privacy and security we enjoyed at Cacimar. The property manager who picked us up from the airport gave us a tour of the island that made us feel like insiders. On most evenings we felt like we had the entire neighbourhood to ourselves, except for a couple of wild horses, and a rooster or two in the morning. The only thing that came close to disturbing the peace of the place was our sunburns, which we soothed with midnight dips in the pool.
We've had the pleasure of two marvellous stays at Cacimar House and are looking forward to many more. Can't recommend it more highly. -

We recently stayed at Cacimar House on Vieques and can not speak more highly of such a great vacation home away from home. The house itself is lovely, roomy and well appointed. We enjoyed cooking at home, dinner on the patio, and watching the stars over head at night.
Cacimar House was a great home base from which we could explore the island. We loved watching the sun set from the terrace and taking a dip in the pool after a day at the beach. By far the best home that we have seen on the island!
We can’t wait to go back. We highly recommend it! -

Cape Cod, MAThe Best in Vieques!
Left on 08/19/2010 for a stay in January 2010
For over 20 years my husband and I have been renting vacation homes for our annual trip to Vieques. In 2009, we discovered Cacimar House, by far the best. This beautiful home, which sits high on a hill, is tastefully furnished, very well appointed and immaculate. The owner, Charlie McKee, is responsive and involved. The caretakers, Paul and Ricci, are friendly, informative and efficient.
My favorite room is the screened sun-porch off the master bedroom, the perfect place to curl up with a good book. Whether watching the sunset from the outdoor patio or enjoying a swim in the lovely pool, you can gaze across the sea to glimpse Fajardo and Culebra in the distance. Heaven!
However, behavorial data is even more meaningful than words, and we'll be returning for our third straight annual visit in March 2011.
