What Past Guests Are Saying
My fiance and I stayed at this beautiful design cottage for a week from (05/05/2012-05/12/2013) and enjoy very minute of it. This gave us the opportunity to live like true locals experiencing the Bravo De Boston, Santa Maria, and Isabel Segunda neighborhoods all at once. The rentals was spacious and provided everything you need to enjoy a day out at the beach or a night in at home.

Sweet Little House
I stayed at La Chata Cottage with my boyfriend and another couple. It was the perfect size for four people, and a great base for exploring the island of Vieques! Michele, the property manager was incredibly helpful and a great resource for us as well. We enjoyed days of exploring the island and relaxing evenings cooking dinner and having drinks on the back porch.

Adorable house, and perfect launching pad!
We loved our stay at La Chatta! When we arrived, one of the owner's friend, Alex, was nice enough to pick us up from the the ferry terminal and happily waited with us at the Island Car Rental location in the W hotel (who apparently runs their business on "island time"). Afterwards, I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the property to find that it's as nice as the images online suggest. The brightly colored, minimalist decor with little touches like dried sea fans, conch shells, bits of coral, and pretty coffee table books really helped us to unwind and relax. They even had games in the living-room. There are aC units in the house, but I found that keeping some windows open was sufficient for a nice constant breeze through the space. As the other review mentioned, the kitchen had bowls, plates, utensils, and basic cooking utilities that came in super handy when we wanted to stay in and cook. Not mentioned however are the mango trees in the back yard that's just covered in literal low-hanging fruits. They weren't ripe when we were there but I can see it being a fantastic perk to have tree ripened fruits for cocktails, or for eating if you're into that sort of thing.
The house is in Bravos de Boston, and is only a 10 minute walk from a beach. I personally appreciated the symphony of coqui, and gecko chirps at night and the occasional noise of a galloping horse in the neighborhood. It's definitely a great spot for tropical getaways.
I also really liked that the house came with beach chairs, towels, and a cooler placed next to the door conveniently to suggest that although the property is wonderful, you should be spending much of your time exploring Vieques's undeveloped beaches.
My partner and I just returned from our first trip to Vieques. We stayed at La Chata and were very happy with our experience! The house was very clean and included items we needed for our stay such as a cooler & beach chairs, towels, etc. The kitchen was stocked with cookware & utensils, and included a full-sized refrigerator, oven, toaster, and coffee pot (no microwave), so it was easy for us to prepare meals at home. Bedrooms and bathroom were very clean, and there's a washer/dryer in the shed to do laundry. The deck out back was perfect for morning coffee, and hanging out with a good book later in the day or evening. There's a covered carport for your rental vehicle. Although there was no TV or radio at the cottage, we didn't miss them since we spent most of our time at the beaches & exploring the island. We were the first guests at this property, and the owners (Kevin & Don) were very responsive to our suggestions for the place, all of which were minor details. The property manager (Tyler) is very attentive and easy to reach if you have any concerns. The house is located in the Bravos neighborhood, on a quiet street and a few minutes' walk to the nearest beach. A very nice place to stay at a very reasonable price.
