Eight of us traveled to Vieques and Casa Tolteca was a great place to all come together from different points of the us. Casa Tolteca had something for everyone... kids (ages 10 and 12) and older kids (ages 30 and 34) loved the pool. Older adults loved our private master suites and everyone enjoyed dinners and breakfasts we shared either around the dining room table or outdoors on the pool deck.
We did run into a few plumbing problems but Cheo was right on it. He even managed to fix one problem on Good Friday which was a big holiday on the island. (Please do take heed to safety recommendations and make sure all doors are locked at night, we had some cash stolen but we were warned so it's our fault.)
Bed linens were nice and there were plenty of bath and beach towels. Washer/dryer sure came in handy. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and we enjoyed cooking meals together there. I really can't say a bad thing about Casa Tolteca. Everything there was wonderful. -

Left on 02/19/2013 for a stay in January 2013
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Casa Tolteca with our adult children. They house is very well outfitted so it was a pleasure to stay there. The kitchen is very well equipped, and we especially appreciated those added included amenities such as dish soap, dishwasher soap, spices. It was a pleasure to throw open the doors in the morning and let the breezes blow in while getting ready for the day. The bedrooms and sitting areas are also very comfortable. The house is equipped with lots of beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, and snorkel gear...all essential for time at Vieques' gorgeous beaches. While the house is up in the hills, it is only a short trip to Isabella in one direction and many of the beautiful beaches in the other direction. The caretakers are a lovely young couple who live just a few doors away. They met us at the airport, drove us to our rental car, and were very responsive any time we had a question. All in all, it was a great place to stay and a wonderful vacation!

My husband, niece and I stayed here Dec. 1-8/2012. We had plenty of room since we had planned to have another couple join us. When they had to drop out, we decided to keep the rental because it seemed to fit our needs perfectly... and it did. Cheryl made everything easy while making the arrangements, including our pickup at the airport by Cheo. The house itself felt like at resort - lovely decor and amenities - with the ease of staying in a house (laundry, kitchen, DishTV, wi-fi, and comfortable furnishings). Masks, fins and snorkels; beach chairs; coolers; and beach towels all there at our fingertips. The beds were very comfortable. The upstairs master suite was gorgeous; the deck/patio had a wonderful ocean view.
Cheo gave us great suggestions -- Farmers Market on Monday morning, fish market in Isabella Segunda on Tuesday-Friday. We spent the week relaxing, enjoying the beaches and then coming home to Casa Tolteca for a swim in the pool and lounging and relaxing on the patio and in the hammock. A wonderful vacation stay. -

We were looking for a place that would make us feel at home and accommodate a family with multiple generations, from children to grandparents. This home exceeded our expectations. With its sweeping views from the upper balcony to its private yard with a wonderful pool, this house offered us a real sense of relaxation, fun and paradise. The house is equipped with everything you will need, from snorkeling gear to spices in the kitchen to a grill. The mango trees outside are a nice touch. They kept the kids busy hunting for snacks. It was wonderful to open the doors and cook outside while the kids played in the pool. One thing we especially appreciated was the clean and modern decor. It was very soothing and inviting. Provisions are easily available at the nearby convenience store. We highly recommend this house.

Kelly and Cheo the caretakers are fabulous with anything you might need. The owners provide all you need for the beach, endless towels, chairs and a cooler! Casa Tolteca is spacious, comfortable, well-furnished, and prettily landscaped. It's a beautiful location, close both to Isabel II and the southern beaches. The view from the roof terrace was lovely! We had a peaceful and restful vacation in an idyllic spot.

We stayed at Casa Tolteca on our most recent visit to Vieques. We chose Casa Tolteca because we had driven by the house before and we thought it looked amazing. We had family members who were joining us on this trip and we wanted their first impression of Vieques to be a good one! Casa Tolteca exceeded everyone's expectations! The home is absolutely beautiful; it has the feel of a boutique hotel, but perfect for those who like privacy! The house is spacious with four large bedrooms and three large baths, a gourmet kitchen, and wonderful private pool. The linens on the bed were wonderful and my husband even commented that the bed was more comfortable than our own! The house is situated on a hill with a beautiful view of the ocean and continuous breezes! Amenities included air conditioning in the bedrooms, Internet, satellite TV, hairdryers in every room, and a washer and dryer which were essential for us! They also provided chairs for the beach, beach towels, and a cooler, which we used every day! The yard is spacious as well and filled with beautiful ferns, palm trees, bromeliads and many other native species. The caretakers live nearby and they were a wonderful source of information for us, and always available if we needed anything. This was our seventh trip to Vieques and by far our favorite rental! We highly recommend Casa Tolteca!!

Although there were some initial hiccups in our check in, the whole vacation at Tolteca was very good. At check in there was a situation with the pool being dirty, and it was attended very quickly by the house managers, particularly Cheo. Cheo was very helpful attending to all the needs of the house and responded amazingly quickly. The house is excellent for a week long vacation at Vieques with family as it has 4 comfortable rooms. The house is spacious, the pool very nice, and has all the ammenities needed for the guests. We would recommend it to our friends and hope to stay there in the future.

As a party of four adults, we enjoyed a wonderful 9 day stay in beautiful Casa Tolteca. Kelly and Cheo were extremely helpful, from meeting us at the airport to bringing us additional supplies in order to weather a tropical storm - including red wine! The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed, including beach chairs, coolers and snorkeling equipment. We couldn't have been happier with every aspect of renting this property. Cheryl was a pleasure to deal with and responded promptly to every query I had. We love Vieques and would have no hesitation in booking Casa Tolteca again.

There were 7 of us traveling - all coming from various states. Cheryl was fabulous with recommendations on where to rent a car, etc. When we arrived Kelly and Cheo, the house managers, were just as helpful with anything we needed! The house could not be more beautiful - the modern feel with soft island colors, the pool, the rooftop, the kitchen with doors opening to the deck - stunning!!! The house is spacious and stocked with the necessary amenities plus some (washer/dryer, dishwasher, WiFi access, beach chairs, etc, etc). The house location is also ideal - easy to find between the two towns (Isabel and Esperanza), next to the market, and near multiple beaches. The best beaches some of us had ever been to!! We could not have asked for a better place to stay and escape the harsh winters that we were all traveling out of. By the time it was ready to go, there was talk of returning and if we did... we would definitely stay at the best house on the island - Casa Tolteca!!! Thank you for providing an exceptional house for our getaway - it was truly enjoyed by all :)

Vieques is very unique in comparison to the other Caribbean islands we have visited, and Casa Tolteca compliments this wonderful environment. Everything about our experiences there were beyond our imagination. The house is beautifully decorated with lavish landscaping surrounding the house. The views from each window are a treat. The second story patio affords a sweeping view to the beautiful Caribbean. The upstairs bedroom is a virtual sky room. (Once you watch the Big Dipper rise you will understand.) The beautiful decor throughout fits right in the with the island swing.
We are hard put to say which beach is our favorite. We didn't get to all of them, but loved the ones we went to. And the wild horses! The villages of Isabell II and Esperanza were very sweet.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention Cheo, Kelli and their beautiful daughter. They are absolutely charming.
You just have to see it to believe it.

To sum it up... every person in the group said "wow this place is amazing. Where did you find it?"
Kelly and Cheo were great, to say the least. They helped us out in a few pinches with the rental car company.
The bed was more comfy than mine at home. The views and night sky's were spectacular. We saw shooting stars every 5 mins.
Thanks Cheryl, Kelly, and Cheo! -

Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in July 2010
This was my 7th or 8th summer in Vieques, me and my family always stayed in the same place, a little hotel in Vieques. This year the hotel was full, so we discover and rent Casa Tolteca. We wish that for next summer we can stay there again! The house was perfect it eas clean, great view, excellent pool and a big and comfortable deck. It was a little difficult to get there and most of the taxis dont know how to get there. You definetly have to rent a car! The other thing that we had problems was the TV, it has all the channels and cable but the audio wasnt functioning. But it wasnt that bad. Overall the house was perfect, we enjoyed the pool very much and the lounge chairs. Im definetely staying there again! Thanks, Cheryl and Cheo!

I'm so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at our house Cris! I'm very sorry about the problem with the TV, it is fixed now and we think it was a problem with the satellite remote and the tv remote being out of synch. We're going to write up some instructions for the tv/satellite setup and put them in our Guest Book so that future visitors don't have that problem. Thank you for being so understanding, we hope you will stay with us again soon! -Cheryl
