This house sits high up on a hill with amazing ocean views and had plenty of space for our group of 7 to socialize but still have private space. There a multiple porches, including a roof deck, as well as a covered patio for relaxing during the heat of the day. The pool itself was good sized & well maintained with plently of lounge chairs (thought only one umbrella for shade). The house came stocked with nice beach towels, folding chairs to take to the beach, and a rolling cooler, all of which came in handy. A/C, fans, fridge, plumbing, etc. all worked great and the on-site washer & dryer was essential for our 10 day stay. Stray dogs were an serious annoyance, and many neighbors raise chickens so there is a fair amount of noise (starting very early!). Only 1 restaurant is within walking distance so you will need a car (or even better, a scooter!). Kitchen is poorly designed and very cramped - might be fine as long as you don't have too large a group or plan on cooking much - but it became pretty frustrating for us. Stove is electric :( and finicky. The management company asks that you keep the entire place locked all the time but only provided 3 keys for 7 people, which meant we had to constantly coordinate & couldn't be as relaxed and autonomous with oir individual schedules as we wanted to be.
Best: space, views & pool.
Worst: dogs, kitchen & keys.

Our first visit to the Sandia Beach House was so nice that we decided to visit again over the holidays. The house was just as beautiful as our last visit, but the owners had made some cosmetic changes which were very pleasant, such as large palms around the pool area. Now when you are lying in the sun next to the pool, you have the feeling of being on a secluded, private resort! During this time of year the weather was fantastic, the ocean water warm, and my husband even got to swim with turtles! The W Hotel hosted a fantastic New Year's Eve party, which is not to be missed. December is a great time to go to Vieques and the Sandia Beach House is the perfect place to relax and enjoy it.

Perfect place to relax

We spent 2 weeks at Sandia Beach House with our two teenage kids. We liked it so much that we are already planning to come back next year as we discovered that there are affordable direct flights from Frankfurt to San Juan.
Sandia Beach House is ideally located on a hill with spectacular views to the close by ocean and the green mountains. We will always remember the magic moments when we watched the sundown from the roof top terrace. The house itself is very special due to its outstanding architecture which enables its inhabitants to enjoy marvellous views from all over the place. The light, which is coming in through big windows, creates a very cheerful and cosy atmosphere. The owners obviously put a lot of effort in tastefully decorating the place with nice artwork and treasures from the sea. The furniture also fits in very well. We all very much appreciated the comfortable beds and the air condition. It was very clean, too. The kitchen is well equipped. We often enjoyed our meals either on the front terrace or in the outdoor room downstairs while listening to the waves of the ocean. As a supermarket and on some days even a little local market are only minutes away by car, shopping was easy.
We very much enjoyed the great variety of beautiful beaches and the warm, crystal clear water, ideal for swimming and snorkling. Yet,we also loved to go for a swim in the spacious pool. The lovely pool area is definitely a highlight we would not want to miss.
When our son had a health problem we were relieved to find out about the well organised emergency room in Isabel Segunda, the nice village close to Sandia Beach House. All the doctors and even most of the nurses spoke English. Minor problems with a toilet lid or the dishwasher were immediately dealt with by Bravos Boyz. Quite reassuring to know that they are so reliable and helpful and can be contacted 24 hours a day.
We definitely recommend this place for a relaxing holiday.

Recently I have stayed the second time at Sandia Beach House with my family. I loved it last year so I hoped nothing had changed. But Sandia has gotten even better: a nicely furnished outdoor living room with a seating area from where you can enjoy ocean views even when it rains, new furniture and artwork all over the house, a lot of additional cook ware, as well as all new pool furniture and decoration. The pool has become one of the focal points and great attractions of Sandia: the palm trees around it have grown and provide even more privacy, a nice umbrella and new lounge chairs as well as a little snack area are great additions for a nice day or evening at the pool. And the chairs on the roof top terrace help to enjoy sunrises and sunsets even more. Also the new curtains in the pool side room are a appreciated. We discovered the little vegetable market in walking distance to Sandia Beach House (Tuesday) and spent quite a bit of time at the beaches across the house. Of course we enjoyed again all the great and unique beaches in the South of the island - Blue Beach remains our favorite but we also liked Navio and Media Luna a lot. A big compliment to the Bravos Boyz who were always there when we needed help or advice. If you want to spend a unique vacation on a unique island you should come to Sandia Beach House in Vieques! Beautiful Caribbean House located in Paradise
Left on 07/28/2013 for a stay in July 2013 | Sylvia
I visited Sandia Beach House in July, 2013. And it was indeed a great experience to spend a few days at this house. The house itself brings a wonderful feeling of comfort and big spaces that allow you to feel at home in the middle of the Caribbean.
Another big advantage of this house is how conveniently located it is from the two main villages in Vieques: Isabella II and Esperanza. The airport and the Ferry Terminal are also just minutes away.
I really enjoyed going to some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen, spending the day there, and coming back to for a refreshing swim in the big pool of Sandia, followed by a nice drink watching the sunset on the roof top terrace of the house. Would I come back to this beautiful house? In a blink!

I was really not expecting to find such a well-equipped house on a small island like Vieques, so tastefully decorated and where no details have been forgotten.
With its many balconies and terraces, a huge pool, covered outdoors dining space, and many seating areas- one doesn't need to worry about a thing! Coolers, barbecue grill, beach chairs- you name it. The guests at Sandia just need to bring the desire to have fun in a paradisiac environment that you will never forget.
Recently my husband and I stayed at the Sandia Beach House with our three teenage children. The Bravo Boyz are much more than a realty company. Through their website and emails we were well informed on shopping, restaurants, car rentals, beaches, and the many activities available on Vieques. Laura from Bravo Boyz met us at the airport and then took us back to the house to give us a tour and again make some suggestions as to restaurants and activities that would be fun for the family. The house is absolutely adorable the way it is decorated and very clean. We felt very comfortable staying here with the many kitchen /cooking utensils, beach towels and chairs, and the convenience of having a washer and dryer. Because the house is built on a hill and is elevated on stilts it provides absolutely beautiful views from all 4 outdoor decks as well as a shaded lounging/dining area under the house. The swimming pool adds to the relaxing feel of the house. Even though we spent everyday at the many gorgeous beaches, it was so nice having the pool for a morning or late night swim. I had read another review of this house mentioning that there are window treatments ordered and to be installed. That would be my only recommendation. Although the many windows provide beautiful views during the day, I prefer blinds or curtains after dark. However, this would not stop us from returning to Sandia Beach House. I would want to remind other potential renters that the elevation of the house adds to the experience but would make it very difficult for people who have a hard time walking up stairs. Thank you Bravo Boyz for helping us to plan a wonderful relaxing trip that allowed us to enjoy and appreciate the real beauty of Vieques.

We spent a week with some friends at the Sandia Beach House and were pleasantly surprised about how many amenties this house had to offer. Vieques is a beautiful island, but the house is already a relaxing oasis with an amazing tropical garden, large swimming pool and breathtaking views of the ocean. The tastefully-decorated house has everything for a comfortable stay, from beach equipment to fine china. We especially appreciated the quick response from the property management company when we had questions. The beach is right across the street, and there are numerous other pristine beaches just minutes away. We highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Vieques Island. Read more
Ralph and Tina we are thrilled that you love Sandia Beach House as much as we do and that you enjoyed the property as, "A Great Couple's Retreat". Thank you for recommending Sandia Beach House and we hope to see you again at Bravos Boyz real soon!

Amazing views of the ocean, landscape and sunsets from the many decks of this spacious property perched up on high ... with only a short walk to the beach below. Even with 3 couples we each had our own private deck, full bathroom, and climate control. There were also 5 different indoor and outdoor dining areas. Since the house is on stilts a great feature was the open but shaded sitting and dining area for our grill-out poolside. The house is unique with is wooden structure and many windows to let the breezes blow through. One of the best kept secrets of the island are the variety of beaches that are national parks only a short drive away ... so, no crowds or big buildings, just simple cabanas ... even horses run wild around the island. For us adventurous types, the snorkeling was great in the clear blue waters and rocky areas. A highlight was a nighttime kayak on the bioluminescent bay, where the water glows when disturbed. As for eating in, the kitchen had everything you needed, down to the espresso machine. Then there were several great eating spots around the island from the roadside stand to fine plates that were works of art. So, I highly recommend this property and locale and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did! Read more

Comfortable and relaxing

We spent a week at Sandia with 3 other couples. It was a vacation for relaxation and sun - and met our expectations! Bravos Boyz management was very accommodating and helpful, and the house was clean, bright and comfortable. The kitchen had all the cookware, dishes and utensils that we needed for pretty extensive cooking. The bedrooms were bright and cheerful. The indoor living room is contiguous to the kitchen and offered a nice gathering area. There are also several outdoor eating and seating areas. The pool area is very nice, with adequate lounges for all, and the addition of a poolside umbrella was helpful for those who cannot take as much sun. Wi-fi was available and worked well on the main floor.
The property was pretty, with flowering shrubbery and a view of the water. A couple of small beaches are within walking distance (but the north beaches are fairly rough (waves)). We were able to walk to the Farmers' Market (not very extensive, but lots of nice produce). Isabel Segunda is a bit far to walk, especially when it is hot or if you wanted to carry anything back. Morales market is nearby, as are the island's only two gas stations. Gas was in short supply when we were there, and there were gas lines. But we found having transportation a must while staying on Vieques - particularly to get to the best beaches, and to Esperanza.
A couple of things to take into consideration in your choice - there are a lot of stairs so this would not be a good choice for anyone with mobility challenges (you must go up a full flight of stairs to the main living area - including kitchen and living room). The ground floor poolside suite is very nice - and private from the rest of the house - but note that there are no curtains, and lots of windows facing the pool area - so not much privacy from the pool area. Wi-fi was iffy down there.
The photos on the website very accurately represent the property. It is clean, bright and comfortable - I would call it homey, not luxurious. Read more
We are thrilled to see that you had a relaxing vacation and that we met your expectations at Sandia Beach House. One of our favorite new properties! We also love hearing that you found Bravos Boyz Management helpful and accommodating! We spent the summer and Fall going over every detail to ensure that Sandia Beach House would be perfect for our guests and appreciate that you noticed our good work.
Thank you for mentioning the lack of curtains in the pool side suite and we wanted you to know they are on order and will be installed very soon.
You are one of our winners and we hope to see you and accommodate you again! Cheers from Bravos Boyz!!!
Splendid Beach House on a Dream Island

I have spent the first week of September 2012 with my family in Sandia Beach House. We had a dream vacation in Vieques and enjoyed Sandia very much. When you enter the property you are blown away by wonderful ocean views and a beautiful garden with palm trees and tropical flowers - not to mention a big newly renovated swimming pool! We even prepared Caipirinhas with our own limes from the garden which we enjoyed while watching the sunset on the gorgeous roof top terrace. You can hear and smell the ocean everywhere in the house, a little rocky beach is just across the street. We also loved the ambience of Sandia Beach house, which really honors its name with all kinds of local art and beach decorations. The house is a short ride to all the gorgeous almost empty beaches. The local management from Bravos Boyz was very friendly and helpful. Sandia Beach House is the perfect place for an unforgettable vacation. I plan to be back in December!

We stayed 10 days at Sandia Beach House just before it closed for renovation - and we had a fabulous time. Gorgeous ocean views from all five patios and balconies, a nice big pool and a well maintained garden where we could harvest our own mangos. The house is very clean and provides many small surprises like a Bose Wave II with iPhone docking station, a Nespresso machine and some interesting art. The location is perfect, just across the rocky north coast beach, a short drive from the splendid beaches in the natural park and close to Isabella II, as well as to the amenities of the W resort. Great management through the Bravos Boyz. We will definitively come back!
