The house is phenomenal. Clean, spacious and with views to die for. The black bottom pool was warm even during the breezy evenings and we were able to lay out and bake in the sun or sit under cover and still relax.
This house was great for our group. Three couples without kids made it affordable and there was lots of room to entertain. We cooked all of our meals in the fantastic and fully equipped kitchen and ate on the lovely patio in the open air.
There were plenty of areas to sit off alone and read a book or sit in a group and chat. We watched iguanas cross the lawn in the morning and listened to the local wildlife and beeping frogs as we fell asleep. All the fans in the house kept us cool and comfy, we weren't at all missing having a/C while on Vieques. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were clean and soft.
It did take us a bit to figure out the logistics of the house. The entrance is upstairs or off to the side near the pool. The first day we all kept walking into the lower bedroom until we determined the best way to get in and around.
The showers are all outdoors and although my husband and I loved it, it was odd sometimes. At one point while my friends husband was grilling grouper I stood a foot away behind a half wall naked and showering while chatting (luckily we're a close group). The downstairs bathroom really is an outdoor shower open to the elements.
We had no issues with insects in the house. Even in the kitchen, open to the world we were fine. The decor is marvelous and the big teak louvered doors are ingenious.
We were so happy with this house and couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. It was comfortable and had everything we needed for a week of relaxation, eating, drinking, swimming and hanging out. We even had a cat that liked to sit and hang with us at the pool. The downstairs kitchen having a "beer fridge" was a major bonus. :)

Bungalow 180 is a great choice for anyone who wants privacy, breezes, and great views. The house itself is well appointed and easy to use, and the gardens are lovely. Six of us (three couples) stayed here for a week and felt that there was ample room for each of us and comfortable common spaces for time together. The pool was a decent size for swimming, which is not always the case. The outdoor showers are fun but may require some coordination in terms of movement throughout the house to ensure full privacy. Overall, Bungalow 180 is a great vacation home!

Vieques is a special place and Bungalow 180 is typical of the architecture there. This was our third trip to Vieques and first time at Bungalow 180. The house is stunningly beautiful and tastefully appointed. The cement architecture is bold and simple with attention paid to every detail. The house is fully equipped with 2 kitchens and gorgeous views from the wrap around terrace. The sounds of the island are everywhere and the multiple ceiling fans provide ample cooling. The outdoor showers provide privacy while simultaneously allowing interaction with the natural environment. The Bravos Boyz have a first class operation and help the visitor with every aspect of their island vacation. Their familiarity with the island and eagerness to provide assistance makes this experience a no-brainer. I would urge anyone seeking a memorable vacation to rent from the Bravos Boyz for a worry free experience.

Bungalow 180 is a fabulous house. The photos do not do it justice!
it has incredible views of the ocean and is a great place to relax and watch the sun set.
My favorite time was early in the morning when you could wake up and sit on the incredible terrace and listen to the island awake!
We could not have asked for a better house. The house is so lovely and the kitchen so equipped that it makes you want to stay home and cook even on vacation.

Beautiful house with a second floor that completely opens up to the outside with a beautiful view. Cool all cement architectucture and two kitchens -small one down stairs and a big fully equipped one on the second floor. Lots of comfy seating scattered around all with great views. Remote and private location with plenty of tropical jungle sites, smells and noises. If you like privacy, doing nothing except relaxing at the house or on some of the most beautiful beachs in the Caribbean, this place is for you. Bravos boys and Cristina did everything they said they would and never bothered us in anyway.

New YorkUnparalleled Views; Caters to a Specific Type of Traveler

I think you really need to understand what type of property this and how well you deal with elements of nature. Aesthetically the property is gorgeous but it wasn't for me. Now I'm going to be fair and rate it on what the property is meant for and take out all the things Bungalow 180 can't control.
I arrived a day after my friends did so I wasn't part of the check-in process but I did get the sense it was relatively painless except that they only were given 1 set of keys but promised 3 sets. We didn't get the other 2 sets until a day after everyone had checked in.
The views are unparalleled. A true 180 and then some with floor to ceiling doors that turn the house into an indoor/outdoor paradise. It's two-level space that encourages bringing the outdoors in, with bottom floor opening up into the small but adequate pool. The upstairs and downstairs only connect via 2 outdoor staircases.
The decor is lovely, a mix of resort and nature chic. The house is stocked with board games, plenty of towels and abundant outdoor seating. However, all the showers are outdoors. While I enjoyed this very much when I was in Costa Rica, I did not enjoy it in Puerto Rico. We were constantly fighting off bugs or frogs while showering.
The insect situation is incredibly heavy on Vieques. And the location of Bungalow 180 is in the middle of the island so when it rains, puddles of still water appear attracting a very large mosquito population. We hosted a wedding welcome lunch for our friends, the bride and groom here; most of the guests were staying at the W and the next day, they were riddled with mosquito bites from visiting Bungalow 180. Now to be fair, this won't always be the case but it had thunderstormed right before we arrive. Regardless of the weather, the space is very open to nature. You will be fighting off flying cockroaches, centipedes, and a bevy of other insects. It's a tropical island and some people are okay with that. Of the 6 of us that stayed there, 3 of us (me included), decided to spend the back half of our trip at the W Vieques.
Bungalow 180 has no aC but lots of fans. It wasn't enough for me. I had very uncomfortable sleep for all the nights I was there. It was hot and muggy and the air circulation just wasn't enough for me.
The wifi only works upstairs as it's really just a mifi. Only 1 bedroom is upstairs (2 are downstairs) and even then, the mifi needs to be brought in from the kitchen (where it usually is) and into the upstairs bedroom. At&t; has a very strong signal as there is a cell tower nearby. Good luck if you're with any other carrier as you'll have no reception.
The property gets 4 stars because it lived up to it's luxury property designation and it delivers on what it promises. You need to be honest with yourself and make sure you're okay living with nature. As an outdoor girl myself, I thought I would be but I misjudged the situation. I'm extremely allergic to mosquito bites and sensitive to heat and unfortunately the wedding I was attending was held over the wet season while exacerbates both the heat and the mosquito situation. It was extremely humid and wet and without aC, there was no relief for me. Beyond that, I realized I tend to visit tropical locations that aren't quite as humid such as Mexico or Costa Rica. It wasn't for me, but it certainly was the perfect place for half of my group. And a 100% of us agreed on the wonderful aesthetic of the location - both the house and the view were gorgeous.
This is definitely not the place for a family with small children as the house does not connect indoors and there are multiple door outside into nature - easy for the little ones to escape. But it is a great place for a group of traveling friends or adults. -

Atlanta, GAFabulous, relaxing vacation!

Vieques is an amazing place--undeveloped, beautiful, with fantastic beaches. We loved Bungalow 180: very secluded, nice views, nice pool, and the best outdoor living area! Listening to the coqui frogs at night was bliss. We worried about the lack of a/C, but that was never an issue (we were even cold some nights!). Bravos Boyz were fabulous. They picked us up at the airport, answered all our questions, and were wonderful from the point of reservations until we checked out. House is clean and comfortable, although a little pricey for Vieques if the budget is a concern. We felt that it was a good value, however, given what a wonderful house it is. We really appreciated that there are beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler at the house (necessary for beach outings). We can't wait until our next trip to VQS!

We had a wonderful time staying at Bungalow 180. The view from the top level was better than the photos. We were there with 4 college aged girls. There was plenty of space and plenty of comfortable areas to hang out. I would rent here again.

New York City180 Degree Views!
Left on 03/14/2011 for a stay in February 2011
Bungalow 180 lives up to its name. 180 degree views of the south side of Vieques. Accomodations were comfortable, kitchen fully equipped, grounds lovely, internet worked well.
Downsides were no indoor lounge area (lucky for us we had very little rain) and fickle water pressure (there was a time each afternoon when the water slowed to a trickle).
Overall we had a great time. -

We were told that there was working wifi, there wasn't. We were told that there was a blender; there wasn't, they got one quickly but it leaked. We didn't find the service wonderful and so didn't want to waste vacation time complaining (perhaps our mistake?) but we expected basic things to work when we arrived and so were disappointed. The check-in took longer than we expected and involved more chatter than we needed but was friendly and nice. The locationw as great; the house was quite funky (took us a few days to figure out what stairs led where, ... ); I'd go to the island again; probably wouldn't rent this particular house; might rent from Bravos Boyz, might not.
