Brooklyn, NYRelaxation at its best
Left on 04/27/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We (2 families with kids aged 5 - 9) shared Las Terrazas over Spring Break. The house was beautiful, extremely clean, nicely situated in the center of the Island, and extremely well-managed. The pool at Las Terrazas rivals and bests most of the hotel or hacienda pools we saw while we were there. The view from the upstairs apartment was gorgeous. And sitting poolside or on the upper deck drinking cocktails was one of our favorite activities.
The house is really set up as 2 separate apartments, joined by an outside staircase in front and in back. It took about a day to get used to this, but then the kids were going back and forth easily and comfortably. And we ended up not using the upstairs kitchen at all.
The sound of roosters is loud - but that is part of the local charm of the island.
The beaches are stunning, and each one has its own unique character -- so each one merits its own exploration. And the bio-bay is not to be missed.
Local food trucks offer some of the best food we ate on the Island.
If you want a place to relax, this is a great choice. If you need tons of activities and events, Vieques is probably not for you.
It would be hard to imagine finding a better house than Las Terrazas.

WisconsinAbsolutely Beautiful!
Left on 04/07/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Las Terrazas is a wonderful home located up on a hill for great views, yet close to both the town and the beaches. It had everything we wanted and needed. We had four adults and two teenagers in our group, and there was plenty of space for everyone, both inside and out. The property is very clean, nicely decorated, and up-to-date. The photos and descriptions are very accurate. (But it's better in person!)
The outdoor space is very beautiful. There are many trees and plants surrounding the property, and many sitting areas to choose from where you can enjoy the views. The pool is great! It has nice lounge chairs to relax in while sipping a pina colada, and it's deep enough for teenagers to have fun in, too. We enjoyed it every day. We even had the chance to watch a large iguana come and get a drink!
Some activities we enjoyed on the island were swimming, snorkeling, touring the bio-bay, eating at local restaurants and bakeries, watching the wild horses, and driving around the island to explore.
We would definitely come back to this property and this island. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the manager made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

DurhamGreat house!
Left on 07/28/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Two families stayed here for a week. It was a wonderful house and we loved every minute we stayed here. We rented both floors and the casita. The only somewhat strange design flaw (at least for us) was that the stairs to the casita are outside the locked gate for the house itself so sometimes the couple that stayed there got locked out of the main house. Also, one thing I didn't notice (which was in no way a problem) was that there are no interior stairs between the 2 floors.
The pool was awesome - so wonderful to float around in. We hit the beaches in the morning and then the pool in the afternoon. The outdoor seating area was perfect for afternoon reading out of the sun.
The square outdoor table was a perfect fit for the 10 of us. We shared many great meals here.
The kitchen is well stocked - both by supplies that other renters had left and stocked by the owners themselves. Plenty of plates, silverware and glasses, pots and pans and serving dishes. Since we cooked in most nights, this was especially important to us. We didn't lack for any accessories! The ice machine was a big plus.
The location was central - easy to get to beaches, Esperanza and Isabel. We had initially hoped to stay in Esperanza because we had 6 young adults (18 to 25) and thought they would enjoy wandering down to the Malecon for a drink at night but they all seemed happier with the location of Las Terrazas.
The property was very clean. The owners were great to deal with and Karen, the manager, was always available, friendly and helpful.
We would recommend Las Terrazas as a place to stay and we all hope we can return in the future.
Vieques is a great place for a relaxing vacation - beautiful beaches, good restaurants. We love it! -

My husband and I got away for the first time in 5 years with no kids and we were looking for the perfect vacation...we got it! Las Terrazas was perfect! The house/property is beautiful, clean, updated, and very secure. Some days we didn't even want to leave the grounds! Each morning we had coffee + breakfast on the terrace, went to the beach, into town for lunch and drink, and back to the house late afternoon to nap and relax by the pool. The kitchen is well set up to cook at home too (the grocery situation on the island is less than desirable for foodies)
It was just the two of us this trip but we will definitely go back with other couples as the house is perfectly designed for multiple families...lots of common space but you also have privacy.
We have traveled extensively and we promise you this place is special!

Las Terrazas is even better than the lovely photos appear. This was a perfect home for two families traveling together. We each had our own private space with the bonus of amazing communal space (outdoor eating, pool, cabana, terraces) for breakfasts, dinners, evening cocktails. The house is clean and incredibly well maintained. The location is ideal - up on the hillside for spectacular views, easy drive to the beaches, grocery and restaurants. We spent our mornings at the beach and afternoons in the pool (while our kids napped). The owner is so helpful, easy to deal with, prompt via email and they have a house manager on the island who met us at the airport, guided us to the house and was available for any questions while on the island. Cannot recommend this rental highly enough. We will certainly return!

We just returned from Vieques today and had a wonderful time while staying at Las Terrazas. It was very well cared for and had a well stocked kitchen! The pool was beautiful- we used it every day, after returning from snorkeling/ day trips. Karen was very helpful and met us to bring us to the house. I would highly recommend this house. Thanks for a great vacation!

We just returned from a wonder time at Las Terrazas. This was our second visit to Vieques, and we loved the location of this home. It is so well situated and easy to get to everything the island has to offer. Definitely one of (if not the) best location on the island. The home is very comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen especially is well stocked, and we ended up cooking many dinners instead of going out. The outdoor dining area(s) are perfect. The grounds are very well kept and landscaped and the pool was spotless. Because of the landscaping you really feel private, but can be at the grocery store, or in town within minutes (unless a stubborn horse creates "traffic"). Views of the atlantic ocean from the 2nd floor decks are beautiful, and the star gazing was great. Owner and property manager were also wonderful to deal with. No complaints at all!

Las Terrazas is one of the nicest villas on Vieques. We have been vacationing on the island for several decades and have rented several different villas but once we found Las Terrazas we have stayed with it.
The house has lovely terraces, an excellent pool and an adjacent gazebo to get out of the sun. There's a patio for outdoor gathering and dining and a good barbeque. The pool and the area surrounding the house are lushly and thoughtfully planted. The house sleeps 4 on each of its 2 floors and there is a well equipped kitchen on each floor. (There's also a separate "casita” that sleeps 2). The property manager is both very helpful and cordial. 5/5 stars.

Philadelphia, PALas Terrazas - hidden gem
Left on 11/13/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We very much enjoyed our stay as Las Terrazas in November. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. The house was perfect for our group of 7 adults; we never felt like we were on top of one another. The house and casita accommodated the group easily. Las Terrazas is a beautiful, clean, and well-appointed home. The kitchen is new and has every amenity that you could need. We cooked most of our meals in the house and ate on the outside terraces. The coolers and beachchairs were invaluable as we packed our lunch every day before heading out to the spectacular beaches.
The house also has Wifi, washer/dryer, and gated parking. The house is very private and secure. The housekeeper, Karen, is terrific and available for any issues and island recommendations. I highly recommend the house.

Left on 10/26/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Myself and 4 friends stayed at Las Terrezas for a period of seven days in October. I can not say enough good things about it. The house was clean, quiet, slept all of us and easily could accomodate three more comfortable. The bathrooms and the kitchen are modern, the pool is glorious. It is very centrally located and the caretaker was terrific and able to help us with whatever we needed. There is not a negative thing that I can say about it. The furniture was extremely comfortable and the owners were very easy to deal with. When we did need a little help with transportation to and from the car rental place, Karen the caretaker provided it.
There is internet access so we were able to look up restaurants as needed. We slept, ate and enjoyed to the maximum. I highly recommend it and have no reason to go anywhere else should I go back.
Enjoy.
