Charming traditional 1600 country manor house with independent self catering accomodation at the first floor of the horse farmhouse Borgo di Vigoleno, where you can travel back in time but with all the peace and comfort of the modern age. The apartment has a large room with one king bed, a bedroom with two single beds, a lounge with sofa bed and kitchenette and an elegant bathroom.
The decor is vintage and the environment back to the classical austerity of ancient times. Dominates the view from the windows on pastures with horses and the Stirone river valley.

Culture, art and environment together with a great enogastonomic tradition are the essence of the Vigoleno’s land, which is situated in Emilia Romagna, between the Apennines and the Po River, just one hours by car from Milan and one hour flight from Rome.
This is a land of forteness and castles like Bardi, Fontanellato, Colorno, Castell’Arquato, Felino, Soragna, Torrechiara, Scipione, Varano De’ Melegari.

Borgo di Vigoleno was the perfect size and location. Great for day trips to the towns and castles with a lot of things to do and visit and gorgeous hills and nature. The apartment was clean, comfortable and inviting. The rooms are very clean (with midweek change of towels) and beds were very good quality. Very quite area, a cosy and secure place to stay. The owner is very friendly but not invasive at all, respecting the privacy of the guests.

Alessandra was absolutly super, made you very welcome, fresh homegrown tomatoes which tasted like heaven and fresh basil on the dining room table. The Casa was suitable for 2 people but with some low beams in the lounge area could be duck or grouse!!.The kitchen was basic but had most of what you required plus there was a bbq outside. The bedroom was huge and the bed very comfortable.
This is a stay in the middle of the countryside and a Tom Tom is necessary. Just above the Casa is the Castle of Vigoleno which is certainly worth a visit as are many other castles in this area. Parma,Cremona, Fidenza are all with in a hours drive. There is a fantastic Trattoria with in a 5kms drive from the Casa with great food. Alessandra will give you directions and phone and make a booking for you.
If you like peace and quiet and want to take life easy, this is probably not a bad bet the views are lovely and the weather was stunning.

The house is set in the most beautiful surroundings with stunning views of the hilly, open countryside all around. Very friendly owner. Plenty of things to do if you like walking and sightseeing old towns and villages.

Borgo di Vigoleno is taken right out of an italian movie. The countryside, the smiles from the townspeople, the delicious food and specially the warmth and knowledge of alessandra, the owner, made every moment unforgetable! Highly recommended!
