Le Studio is not a studio - it is a charming house in a very friendly village close to the city of Carcassonne.
The turrets of the medieval walled city (a World Heritage site) can be seen from the large & sunny terrace.
There is also a bright Garden Room with a wall of windows for hanging out & eating in: A romantic Bedroom with plenty of closet & storage space: A very well equipped kitchen designed by a restaurateur: A clean & airy bathroom with large shower/sunken bath & view of the Pyrenees.

We are located just outside Carcassonne on the border between the Minervois and the Cabardes wine regions. We are in the wide valley between the Montagnes Noires to the north & the Pyrenées to the south. Within easy reach are the impressive Cathare castles - most perched dizzyingly atop sheer cliffs.

Four years ago we found this gem of a place and enjoyed it so much we decided to go back this year. Rowland and Michele were as welcoming as the first time,we got our wee pot of homemade jam,a nice bottle of wine on arrival and,most of all,the warmth and friendliness of our hosts. "the studio" has everything,it is peaceful and very convenient to visit the area and you can enjoy walks in the nearby vineyards.

We were delighted with our one weeks stay in Le Studio in april 2011. Michele and Rowland are great hosts and provide lots of information on the fascinating area surrounding Villedubert and Trebes. We enjoyed our time in the village and particularly enjoyed walks along the Canal di Midi. The markets in the area are fun - and there is one on virtually everyday somewhere in the region - we got to the quaint town of Mirporoix on their market day.
We highly recommend a trip into the mountains and a lovely restaurant at Roqufere.
Le Studio is very comfortable and very "French” and the garden is a lovely spot to just sit and relax.To stay in Villedubert you definitely need a car - but once you are there then you will enjoy the tiny village and its people.

You will need your own transport. Parking outside the Studio is tight but space in the village square, less 2 minutes on foot, is usually available. The village itself is small, with few amenities, but there are good shops and restaurants in the local area. The Studio is spacious, self-contained, well-equipped, very comfortable, tastefully presented and has its own delightful patio, which adjoins the owners' garden. The owners themselves are helpful, friendly and maintain a discreet distance.

We loved Carcasonne and our stay at Le studio was an absolute delight. Michele and Rowland are the most gracious hosts you would want to find anywhere. They are fascinating and have lived such interesting international lives. The garden is a delight and you can even see the walled city. We have stayed twice and would love to go back. This is a perfect holiday spot or retreat for a writer. It is quiet and lovely walks around the little village and the canal do Midi.
Writing about it now makes me want to be there. Thanks Rowland and Michele for making life brighter
