The State of Maine ferry goes to Vinalhaven Island where you can explore the pristine beauty, the architecture, the hikes, the quarries, and restaurants. This 3 bedroom completely renovated Cape is walking distance to village, library, candy stores, and ferry. Two large decks overlook the water, Jacuzzi tub, wifi, hammock. Bikes available. Sleeps 9.

I was able to rent Indian Creek Cottage on Vinalhaven island, Maine last summer. The house itself is very nice, a newly renovated, but an older house. It has a very open feel on the first floor with the kitchen, dining room and living room all partly joined and without doors.
The upstairs has pine board floors, and the bedrooms have a great view of Indian Creek, a tidal cove that is a short distance behind the house.
There are alot of different activities to do on Vinalhaven, and they are all within easy range of this house. The ferry terminal is a 10 minute walk, or an even shorter hitch hike away. People are very friendly and helpful here!
The ferry leaves Rockland 3 times per day. Once on the island there are shops and galleries as well as the more necessary services such as a building supply store and a grocery store. There are a wide variety of places to walk, swimming holes in beautiful old granite quarries, and a wide variety of beaches and coastline to explore.
The house is comfortable and quiet. Walking around, and going up and down stairs, everything has a very well cared for feel. It is a victorian house with a contemporary flair. Enjoy!!
