This excellently appointed cottage leaves nothing to chance, everything you need is right at your fingertips. The well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill make any meal prep a breeze. The outdoor space allows for plenty of privacy, make sure you pick the Hot Tub option; it makes for a very relaxing time. The flowers, scrubs and pond are beautiful to enjoy while having wine or a drink.
There are nice lawn areas and that are great to enjoy taking a blanket out on the lawn at night with a bottle of wine and star gaze after having a candle light dinner at the outdoor table. This place is a little slice of heaven. We can't wait to come back ...

The cottage is very spacious, it has a number of separate rooms with enough privacy. Despite a hot summer week (over 90) the in house climate is well controlled. The garden is beautifull, full of birds and butterflies and the nearby road is not to much of a disturbance.
The village with shops is less than 5 min. drive and Niagara Falls is within 30 min. The kitchen is well equiped, but it lacks a dishwasher.Response from Jennifer Hart - 08/04/2012
Owner
Thank you very much for taking the time to review my cottage. Although the lack of dishwasher has not been mentioned before, I have definitely been considering it. I have been looking at portables because there is no room otherwise and have to research how it effects the septic system. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

OshawaA relaxing romatic retreat
Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012
On arriving at the cottage, it was a comforting feeling from the moment we walked in. The cottage is an oasis and provides all the privacy you could ask for if you're looking for a different option than a commercial generic hotel. Spacious and attractive surrounding allow for feeling relaxed right away. The hot tub is a romantic option to unwind with a cocktail to reconnect and talk while cheery little birds buzz around the beautiful trees and shrubs. A relaxing pond with fish is another relaxing option that feels like you're in a tropical garden with shade trees, hosta and waterfall.
The quality furnishings allow for a homey feeling and the kitchen and BBQ allowed for creating great meals. The grocery and Lcbo/Beer store are in an easy ten minutes away. Stock up before you get there and you will be able to relax and do nothing. This cottage is a perfect setting for a romantic weekend or longer.

Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012
After being on the road and travelling Ontario for two weeks our two-day stay at Cherry Hollow Cottage was the perfect way to end our vacation in a nice and relaxing place. The cottage is beautiful, very homey, very spacious (took us a while to explore) and equipped with everything one could possible need away from home. We especially enjoyed the hot tub (with a glas of fine local wine) and having breakfast on the patio.
The surrounding area is perfect for biking (thanks for loaning us some bikes) and hiking (we found the Bruce Trail eventually) or you could really just take a break and relax in the cottage.
Living in a winegrowing region in Germany we were especially curious about how different it would be in Canada - turns out, not that much really. Next time we'll have to come back during harvest season.
Thanks Jennifer, for this great opportunity to stay at Cherry Hollow Cottage. We loved it!

Thanks Jennifer for this beautiful place. The place is so warm, neat, it just feels like home! And totally furnished, especially the kitchen, we were really surprised of the variety of instruments that we had!Very well equipied home, you just need your luggage! For wine lovers, it's the greatest spot ever and plus it's not far from Niagara! Hope to visit the "Castle" someday soon!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Cherry Hollow, what a cozy, relaxing place. Perfect location! Walking, biking or driving distance (minutes) too so many wineries! Any time of the day, we've enjoyed the gardens, ate "al fresco" (outside) to the sound of chirping birds and the waterfall from the pond, sipped a nice glass of wine from a favorite winery we just discovered in the hot tub overlooking the star studded sky! The sunroom became one my favorite room, reading a wine book laying around or having a restful nap.
We've enjoyed cooking with the local ingredients but don't miss out on some great eateries nearby. If you are a cheese lover, you must stop at the Upper Canada Cheese Factory, their Niagara Gold or Camelot cheese is to die for.
The owner is lovely and very helpful, left us a lot of information, maps and recos.Response from Jennifer Hart - 05/09/2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming cottage. The location is perfect-within walking distance to many great wineries and a short drive to some great restaurants, Niagara on the Lake and of course the Falls. We made good use of the sunny deck, the hot tub and the fire pit in the back yard. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need. The owner Jennifer is great-she'll provide you with lots of information and recommendations for wineries, restaurants etc. We will definitely go back and bring some friends!

Had a long weekend stay to get a feel for the area. We've been looking at houses in the general area and wanted to get a feel for the shopping, restaurants, wineries, people etc. Staying at the cottage rather than a hotel /motel helped us experience the region in a more relaxed way and gave us a feel for our retired life. We were able to narrow our search and if we don't find what we are looking for soon, will stay again to experience the garden and pond in another season. Only good feelings about our stay. We spent much time watching birds from almost any window and delighted in your sun room. We want one too. Thanks!

My girlfriend and I wanted a place to stay while we explored the "Bench" area of Niagara's wineries. We had heard that this is where some of Niagara's best wines can be tasted. We weren't disappointed by the wines and we had a wonderful place to relax in when we returned home to Cherry Hollow Cottage, situated right by the main wine route (King Road).
The open views to the north (Lake Ontario in the distance), east and west were spectacular, especially from the spacious deck the kitchen opens on to. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds and linens were comfy and top notch, and nothing beats a glass of wine while reclining outside in the swirling hot tub looking up at the evening sky. The beautiful sun filling up the kitchen in the morning was quite nice too.
Wayne Gretsky's winery is your neighbour (not too close) and you can walk up the hill 5 min. to Megalomaniac and Tawse wineries (Canadian Winery of the Year). There are at least 20 other wineries within a 10 min. drive from the place. After this visit, our opinion is that some of the best wineries in the region can be found in this area- they are the smaller and medium sized wineries that live or die on whether the wine is any good. The scenery here with the escarpment (rolling hills) and the lake views is much more interesting than Niagara itself (outside of the Falls, of course).
All in all, we had a very relaxing time and it was fun to imagine owning our own little getaway in wine country (for a short period of time!). It was great to have the whole place to ourselves and make our own meals using fresh local produce from the multiple farmer stalls on the roads. The rooms were tastefully decorated but relaxed, the surrounding property (including a fish pond) was beautiful and I'll bet the gardens are even better in the spring/early summer.
We intend to come back next summer and maybe we'll find out...Response from Jennifer Hart - 04/13/2011

What a wonderful place to stay while visiting the many local wineries. Right next door to Wayne Gretzky's and within walking distance of several other wineries. The house itself is charming and clean, comfortable and suprisingly spacious and the owner is friendly and enthusiastic about wine.
