Dryden, CanadaBeautiful location for the perfect beach wedding and romantic ho
Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We booked this villa online through Ray Larson after months of internet research and advice from family who was familiar with the area, and we were not at all dissapointed. The property lived up to our expectations and in many ways exceeded them. Ray was very prompt and professional with our booking, and in answering all of our questions. Sonny, the property caretaker, met us at the dock and helped us with getting our rental vehicle. He brought us up to the property and gave us a tour and answered all of our questions. Sonny was the perfect host, there when you needed him and respected your privacy always. The property is perfect for a couple who are looking for a romantic get away. We held our very intimate wedding on the beach down in front of the villa and had a delicious dinner at the Sugarcane Restaurant. The staff at Nail Bail resort are so very helpfull. Kim the assistant food and beverage manager was so hospitable, she even gave us a tour of the sugar mill ruins. This location provided us the most exotic and beautiful back drop for our wedding photo's. Some tips we would like to share:
1) Rent a vehicle - there is so much to see and do and a vehicle is absolutely essential.
2) The property has a fully equiped kitchen and propane bbq, shop in Spanish Town at Buck's grocery and eat in at least a couple times, it would seem a waste not to enjoy the properties amenities. But, you have to eat out too, there is such delicious cuisine to enjoy.
3) Explore - drive up to Leverick Bay and see Michael Bean's Pirate Show Tuesday's to Thursday's at 5pm, and on Friday nights dance in the sand with the "Jumbies", dancers on stilts - crazy fun.
4) Gun Creek - take advantage of the free ferry over to Scrub Island and to Biras Creek to do a bar crawl.
5) The Baths and the Copper Mine are must see's, nothing like it.
6) This piece of advice should actually be #1 - smile, say hello, ask how people are, and always say thank you. Respect and Gratitude it makes a difference. -

Just returned from the Sundowner Villa at Sunset Watch. I really don't want to write this review because I don't want anyone else to know about the Sundowner. But, the property is first class and in a very romantic, private setting on a wonderful island. I am already booking for next year. The villa far exceeded my expectations. Clean, well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The view is incredible, the island is quiet and not overrun by visitors. Loved Savanah Bay beach. Many great places to eat. Would like to live the Sundowner permanently.

The Sundowner at the Sunset Watch Villa was amazing. My husband and I had the perfect honeymoon and Sonny was incredible and accommodating. It was private and beautiful. The photos don't even do it justice! The villa was stocked with everything we needed and then some. We loved utilizing the equipment from the villa; we used the snorkels and went to the Baths, Savannah Bay, and Devil's Bay. We kayaked right off the beach in front of the villas and watched incredible sunsets from the rocks. We can't wait to come back for a future anniversary!

This place was just what we needed. No one was around and we felt like adam & Eve in the Garden of Electronics as it had everything you could want. Gorgeously decorated, cabinets full of appliances, pots, glassware etc.
The pool was super drinking cocktails from the rim watching the sun set.
Snorkeling from the beach was better than we expected.
Definitely will be back here. It's a jewel.
Owner was easy to work, and caretaker couldn't have been nicer.
Bravo! -

The pictures do not do this view justice. All you need is a toothbrush and a bathing suit ... everything else is here. Kitchen well stocked with dishes and spices, bbq grill, sound system with wonderful music selection that easily plays inside and outside by pool, kayaks, snorkel equipment, beach chairs the works. We showed up expecting to stay in a nice place - and we were blown away. Sonny the local manager is delightful and helpful. He left adorable towel animals for us on the bed every morning and made sure we had all we needed.
If you are looking for a romantic, private, tranquil experience - stop looking.
I Recommend you rent a jeep and spend at least one morning over at the Bitter End Yacht Club where you can rent small sailboats by the hour. On the way back eat at Hog Heaven for the best view and bbq! Also stop by Coconut Junction - Angie makes the best local food. We did enjoy dinner and music up at Nail Bay one night but otherwise - I'd skip most of the "fancy" restaurants. If you visit the Baths - go very early the cruise ships drop off people in droves by the afternoon.
It's my last morning here - and I loved it so much I felt compelled to write the review before heading to airport. That's how pleased I was with the experience.Response from Ray Larson - 04/09/2012

Kat- please come back again! I have not been in Coconut Junction- thanks for the tip. I'm so glad you had a great time.

This is a perfect couples retreat! We are busy people who rarely get a chance to slow down and enjoy our surroundings. This villa allowed us to stay in touch as needed, and still totally relax in the beauty of the islands, with all of the amenities one could want. You have a washer and dryer to yourself, and a dipping pool with waterfall as well as every kitchen appliance you can imagine. Although we didn't spend a lot of time in the villa, there was TV and music and internet ready for us.
The best swimming beach is just down the road within walking distance and the beach you are on is fine for a quick dip and is also private and wonderful to look out upon. We rented snorkeling gear for the week and went on all kinds of boat rides with spectacular views and fascinating geographical history.
The villa is located in a low key resort area with lots of fun places nearby to eat, shop, listen to music, explore, with easy access to the popular parts of the island and also only minutes from the ferry. The staff were helpful, fun and flexible. We knew the place was getting cleaned, but we never saw a person coming and going. The bed always had fresh beach towels made into fun sculptures when we returned.
The only thing we noticed a few times were some mosquitos in the outdoor shower, but that is part of the tropical experience and they didn't seem too hungry.
We would definitely love to return to this wonderful spot many times again.

I'm so glad you and Jim were our guests. FYI we installed a glass enclosed outdoor shower to handle those pesky mosquitos. You can now bathe with the views minus the little blood suckers.
Thanks again Jan !
