From check-in until check-out we enjoyed every minute of our vacation! We were drawn to this house because of the pool. Everyone loved it. The home was clean and very well maintained. The owners supplied many "extras" to make our stay more enjoyable. (Pool toys and rafts. Nicely equipped kitchen, bikes and a gameroom.) The home was close to the beach, but still offered plenty of privacy.

To begin with, getting to Virginia Beach is a hassle due to the traffic at the Hampton Roads tunnel. Sandbridge is too far away from Virginia Beach proper, another hassle getting the kids and seven bicycles to the boardwalk. Too many traffic lights and time consuming being that far from main Virginia Beach.
If the house and its amenities had lived up to the pictures on the Internet, I would have been happier. Unfortunately, it did not. The living furniture was worn out. The kitchen wasn't the cleanest and the mattress pads were unsanitary. In fact, I called the rental office and they sent over a cleaning crew for the kitchen and they brought new mattress pads.
The children enjoyed the swimming pool, but the game room was scary ugly and dirty. The bicycles were a joke. (Another call to rental office, they sent one adult size for son-in-law.) It's a good thing we brought six bikes with us.
If we ever come back to Virginia Beach (and that's a big if), we will stay within walking distance to the boardwalk area. -

I loved this old house; the exterior looks like driftwood but the inside is nicely furnished (some older beach houses have kept the 70's furniture)and the spot was sweet.. 2 blocks from ocean and toward end of side street makes ya feel close to the woods, but you can check the surf from the upper deck..good times. Rented it for the winter and only complaint was the owners and sandbridge realty came by alot for random things causing the dog to bark and waking the baby, but the pool and decks are great for parties or two families (downstairs is like a complete 2 bedroom apt) have fun!
