Really Loved the openness of the house, the location, being right on the ocean, with the big window view of the water too while inside.
Spent most of our time outside though, Soaking up the sun, and fresh ocean air. And it was handy to have the screened in porch on the side for the little ones and at night for the big kids to play board games.
Also, Loved the games under the house too, Cornhole & pingpong. and the outdoor shower!!
A highlight of our stay was getting to see the dolphins only about 50 feet from shore frolicking in the waves. Also the little old man on the side of the road, that sold Soft shell crabs already seasoned and ready to eat! delicious!
We also visited the aquarium which was very nice, and took a short drive to Va beach for a little boardwalk shopping, eating and nightlife.
Only things I would complain about is the Laundry being out of the house and downstairs and all the stairs to get up,beacuse house is on stilts, Hard with lots of things to carry and with little kids.
Other than that, the price was right, the stay was great and I cant wait to come back!! -

We appreciated the value of a smaller rental home as we were a smaller group. The location of this house can't be beat -- right on the ocean but far enough away from public beach access so it was very private. It is a smaller and older home but it is well maintained. It has plenty of nice extras like TVs in every bedroom, ceiling fans (we were there during a July heatwave and were able to leave the aC off frequently), outdoor games and the outdoor shower.
If there was one thing that would have made Reed's Roost better -- the mattresses in the kids' bedromm (bunkbed room) were extremely uncomfortable. I think they are older mattresses and it might be time to replace them. Even my 8yo had a problem with this mattress.
We would gladly stay here again.
