The Apartment:

Apart from 3 B&B-guest; rooms an apartment (two rooms, kitchen & bathroom) belongs to the language guesthouse; the flat is also available as accommodation for visitors on holiday or German language students. It is located on the ground floor of the tastefully renovated old winery building; its size is about 55 square meters.

Furnishings & design:

* A large, bright, solid wooden furnished bed /living room (double bed, wardrobe, desk, sofa, small table, hard wood floor, fast internet access).

* A smaller room with pull-out sofa bed (2 sleeps), flat screen TV (satellite antenna)

* A modern bathroom with bathtub

* A spacious, bright and furnished-with-loving-care kitchen, which is fully equipped for self-catering with electric stove /oven, sink, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, cookware and dinnerware. In the kitchen is also the dining area

The separate entrance to the apartment is located in the courtyard of the house and there is also an open seat for the holiday apartment guests (table, bench, chairs).

The apartment has hardwood floors in the big room and bright tiles in all the other rooms. It is easy for allergy sufferers and suitable for the elderly (only 4 steps). It is intended primarily for self catering, but it can also be booked with breakfast, half or full board (which is recommended especially for language course guests).

We're located in one of the most beautiful regions in Germany, the Kaiserstuhl hills in the Breisgau district with vineyards and beautiful scenery, not far from the old city and district capital Freiburg, from the Black Forest and the river Rhine. We have Germany's warmest and most sunny days, Our town Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl and the near and further surroundings offer plenty of interesting attractions in all seasons for wine lovers, for families with children, for nature lovers, bird watchers and hikers, for people, who are fond of sports, or interested in culture and history.
Vogtsburg is a small town with everything you need nearby. You can reach several restaurants/ vine taverns in a few minutes walk, a bakery in 200 metres, a well assorted supermarket in 300 m, the nearest church (Catholic) in 200 m distance. The nearest train station is 700 m away from the pension. In two minutes walk you are in the vineyards. About a kilometre is the distance from the local public pool, 3 km from a natural swimming lake, also 3 km from the Rhine, 25 km from the Black Forest. Larger cities in the region are Breisach am Rhein (9 km), Freiburg (25 km), Colmar (France /25 km), Strasbourg (France /70 km), Basel (Switzerland /70 km), and Germanyā€™s largest amusement parc (Europa Park) is only half an hour drive away (25 km).
Carsharing
Guests of the Language Guesthouse get the KONUS-ticket, which can be used at no additional cost for public transport in a really large area. This is an attractive offer for those who are travelling without a car, but likewise for those who are tired of searching parking lots in unfamiliar cities or hikers who want to walk others than round trips. But some places are hard to reach using the public transport, especially on weekends. In these cases you should have a car, shouldnā€™t you? ā€“ And there is one!
Only a few minutes walk from the language guesthouse is the permanent parking location of an Opel vehicle belonging to the Breisach car sharing club. Guests of the language guesthouse can get a short term membership (for one day if needed) in the club and book and use the car at member conditions, if they submit to me a valid (international) driving license.
Directions:
Motorway A5 (Frankfurt-Basel)
Leave the motorway at exit 59 (Riegel) or 60 (Teningen), follow the signs to the places ļƒ  Bahlingen, then ļƒ  Vogtsburg. In (Vogtsburg)-Oberrotweil pass the village center and the church on the main road. The language guesthouse is located on the left side opposite the winery "Weingut Freiherr von Gleichenstein" (about 200 m after having passed the church)
By train or bus from Freiburg im Breisgau (Hauptbahnhof):
Train/train and bus: In Freiburg take the suburban train (S-Bahn) to Breisach (final station of the line); in Breisach change for the Kaiserstuhl rail (SWEG) or bus line 102 to Oberrotweil (direction Endingen / Riegel); leave the train or bus at Oberrotweil station and head towards the center along the road ā€œBahnhofstrasseā€. After about 7 minutes walk youā€™ll find the language guesthouse on the right side of the road opposite the winery "Weingut Freiherr von Gleichenstein."
By bus line 295 from Freiburg
Take in Freiburg the tram (line 1/red line) to Landwasser (final stop "Moosweiher"); in Moosweiher change for the bus (line 295) to Vogtsburg. In Vogtsburg-Oberrotweil get out of the bus at the stop ā€œKircheā€ (church). Follow the road ā€œBahnhofstrasseā€ for about 200 m. Youā€™ll find the language guesthouse on the left opposite the winery ā€œWeingut Freiherr von Gleichensteinā€
